Mom falls to her death in front of three of her kids while hiking
A mother-of-four who was hiking with three of her children fell 50 to 75 feet to her death in front of them.
Carolyn Sanger, 49, was on a hike with family members at Purgatory Chasm State Reservation in Massachusetts when she dropped suddenly on Wednesday around 2pm.
'There were multiple medial professionals in the area hiking the Chasm at the same time, and were able to provide medical attention right away,' stated the Sutton Police Department on Facebook.
Sanger died of her injuries shortly after the fall.
'For those that knew Carrie, know that she was a bright light; a wonderful, selfless mother who has raised four incredible, respectful, responsible kids,' stated a GoFundMe page for the Sanger family.
'She was a friend to all and her smile and kind spirit will be greatly missed. She passed too early- but she left the earth doing what she loved, with the ones she loved.' More Trending
Police said the fall 'does appear to be accidental' but that it is under investigation.
'The Sutton Police Department would like to extend our condolences to the family during this very difficult time,' the agency stated.
Sanger had just moved on from working as an oncology nurse to 'pursue her passion for wellness', according to the fundraiser.
The GoFundMe page had received more than $120,000 in donations as of Friday evening.

‘Gang of girls' attack elderly woman in park leaving her bleeding from the head
A woman in her 70s has suffered a serious head injury after she was attacked by a gang of girls and left bleeding on the floor. Ashley Gil, 20, was out riding a jet ski with pals and sent a video of herself on the watercraft to her boyfriend - but just hours later, she was killed in a terrible accident A young woman sent a haunting final video to her boyfriend just hours before she vanished and was later found dead in a lake following a freak accident still surrounded in mystery. Ashley Gil, 20, had been riding a jet ski with two other people on Thursday when she fell into Lake Houston in Texas. Earlier that day, she had sent a video of herself on a jet ski wearing a life jacket to her boyfriend, Jason Campos Rodriquez. Authorities said Gill was not wearing the life jacket when she fell, and her body was recovered from the water later that day. Rodriquez told ABC13: "My motive here is understanding everything that happened. [I] kind of right away, right away got a sense something's not right." He claims a man who was out fishing when Gil vanished said there was no urgency from the group she was with to find her. Explaining what the man told him, he said: "To be honest with you, they didn't even pay attention. They didn't even know when they lost her, where they lost her, they looked like they didn't even care." Rodriquez, who described Gil as "'careful and cautious", has been left stunned and puzzled by her sudden passing, receiving the news while out of town for work. He told KHOU: "When you see someone that has so much potential, leave this world. This is just sad in and of itself, and it's hard to you know accept that she's not here anymore." The Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis confirmed the recovery of her body on Thursday. A statement said: "I am deeply saddened to learn that the young woman who went missing on Lake Houston hear Alexander Deussen Park has been found deceased. My heart goes out to her family, her loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragic loss." Three people were on the jet ski when Gil plunged into the water and didn't return to the surface, Houston Police said. Although she was wearing a life jacket in the clip she sent to Rodriquez, officers believe it was not on when she fell. Alexander Deussen Park closed on Wednesday for searches before reopening on Thursday. Gill's family have since launched a fundraiser to help cover her funeral costs, writing in a post: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of my beloved sister, Ashley Gil, who passed away after a heartbreaking accident on the lake. "Ashley fell from a jet ski and, despite all efforts, she did not survive. Ashley was a bright light in the lives of so many, full of love, laughter, and kindness. She had an incredible spirit that touched everyone around her. Her absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of our family, friends, and all who knew her." It added: "We are starting this GoFundMe to support our family, especially our mother, during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will help cover funeral expenses and any additional costs we may face as we grieve and begin to heal. "If you are able to give, any amount—no matter how small—will mean the world to her loved ones. In March 2024 Isaac Craig was involved in a serious collision while riding his daughter's e-scooter. He was hit by a driver who ran a stop sign while testing out a new tyre on his daughter's e-scooter near his home in Townsville, Queensland. He was rushed to hospital and as a result of his injuries he was left almost completly bedridden and struggled to perform everyday tasks. In a heartbreaking message his stepson, Callum Albert wrote online: "He spent most of his days alone in his room... the smallest things would bring him joy like hearing the kids come and go or having conversations that he never wanted to end. It was his way of holding on to normalcy." Callum said that it had been heartbreaking to watch him slowly deteriorate both mentally and physically and explained that on his stepfather's worst days, he would lock himself inside his bedroom and was "slipping further into depression". But tragically, Issac suffered a heart attack last month, not a direct complication linked to the accident. He was without a flow of oxygen to his brain for 24 minutes before he was revived and rushed to Townsville Hospital, MailOnline reports. He was placed in ICU where doctors found he had little to no brain activity and a week later Issac's wife Lisa was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support. His grieving family initially faced the possibility of losing their family home but mortgage payments have been paused while the family comes up with a solution. Callum started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for house expenses, cremation expenses, daily expenses of Issac's wife and daughter and future bills has raised over $3,000. Th page said: "If donations do come, all of it will be given to his widowed wife and she will use it to best herself and their daughter Rebecca's current financial situation. "She has no idea about any of this (now she does) but I do know this will make her happy cry and to be relieved that even though it's not all the pressure, at least some is taken off her shoulders." In an update on Friday June 20, Callum said his mother had been aware of the campaign and that she had received his stepfather's ashes. He wrote: "Hey guys it's been a few days, not much has changed, mum has received Isaac's ashes back so he's finally back home with her." He added: "The support has been overwhelmingly substantial! Thank you to everyone who has helped so far."
