Evercore Unfazed: $205 Target Reaffirmed Despite GOOG Underperformance
Evercore ISI recently reiterated an Outperform rating and $205 price target on Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) shares. Alphabet is a technology company that owns and runs the internet search engine Google. In an investor note, the analyst noted that Alphabet shares had traded down following reports that Apple Senior VP of Services Eddy Cue testified that Search volumes in Apple's Safari browser fell for the first time in April and that Apple was actively exploring adding AI Search capabilities to its browser, potentially adding partners like Perplexity and Anthropic.
The selloff put shares of Google's parent down a total of 26% since an early February peak, noted the analyst, who will take the other side and be buyers of this correction. Later in the day, Google issued a statement saying: We continue to see overall query growth in Search.
That includes an increase in total queries coming from Apple's devices and platforms, notes Evercore. It is plausible that Cue's statement reflects both a very mature low-single digit percentage Search query growth rate and Apple Safari browser share losses, as tracked by statcounter, added the analyst.

The stock has climbed 3.6% over the past three months, underperforming the broader Nasdaq Composite's ($NASX) 11.7% rise over the same time frame. However, on a year-to-date basis, CBOE has delivered a standout performance, surging 16.5% and handily outperforming the Nasdaq's modest 1.2% return. The outperformance extends over the longer horizon as well, with CBOE boasting a 34.4% gain over the past 52 weeks, far exceeding the Nasdaq's 9.4% rise during the same period. Since July last year, CBOE has remained above its 200-day moving average and has mostly traded over its 50-day moving average since early April. On May 2, shares of Cboe Global Markets rose over 2% following the release of its Q1 results, which exceeded expectations on both earnings and revenue. The company reported adjusted EPS of $2.50, surpassing consensus estimates by 5.9%, while adjusted revenue came in at $565.2 million, topping forecasts by 1.5%. It upgraded full-year guidance, with revenue growth now projected in the mid-to-high single-digit range, thanks to continued investment in tech platforms, global expansion, and Data Vantage. CBOE's rival, CME Group Inc. (CME), has outperformed the stock and gained 38.5% over the past 52 weeks and 17.2% in 2025. Analysts maintain a cautious outlook on its prospects. Now, a new leak suggests that another Android brand may soon jump on the customizable button bandwagon. Tipster Smart Pikachu recently took to Weibo to reveal that vivo's upcoming X Fold 5 foldable will feature a customizable button. A live image of the smartphone showcases three buttons on the side, including the volume rocker, the power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner, and the new customizable button. The leak also shows us the customization interface for this button, which looks strikingly similar to the iOS settings page for the Action button. The icons in this interface suggest that users will be able to mute the X Fold 5, launch the camera, turn on the flashlight, perform a song search, and enable DND with this button, among other things. vivo is expected to launch the X Fold 5 in China later this month, with a global launch to follow in July. These two iPhone features work together to create "featured content," to highlight the moments you want to remember. Unfortunately, along with your favorite vacation with friends, you might also end up looking at photos of your ex. The worst part is that featured content isn't exclusive to the Photos app. Featured content appears across your device, like in the search page and on widgets on your home screen.
