This Is How Ishita Ganguly Is Doing Her Bit For The Environment And So Can You

Ishita Ganguly shares the small, meaningful habits she follows that contribute to the environment. The world came together to mark Environment Day on June 5, with people taking small yet meaningful steps from planting trees to promoting eco-friendly habits, to protect the planet. Joining the cause were the lead actors of Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain—Diksha Dhami, Sheel Verma, and Ishita Ganguly, who took a break from their packed shooting schedule to participate in a special plantation drive near their set. The initiative served as a heartfelt tribute to Mother Earth, as each actor planted saplings and pledged to continue making sustainable choices for a greener tomorrow. Speaking to IANS, actress Ishita Ganguly, who plays the role of Chamkili in the show, shared her experience, saying, 'For me, Environment Day is not just about one day, it's about every little choice we make every single day." She added, 'Planting those saplings around our set felt really special. I've always found peace in nature – the sound of rustling leaves, the scent of wet soil after rain, or just watching the sky change colours at sunset. Nature grounds me and reminds me what truly matters." In the same conversation, Ishita highlighted the small, meaningful habits she follows that somehow contribute to the environment. Ishita said, 'To avoid future problems, I carry my own water bottle, avoid plastic, reuse what I can, and plant at least one sapling every year. These might seem like small things, but they make a big difference when done with intention." Reflecting on the healing power of nature, the actress said, 'We often look for magic in big achievements or faraway places, but honestly, the Earth is the real magician. It heals our body and soul in its unique ways. If we don't protect this magic now, we might lose it forever. I want to keep walking barefoot on soft grass, keep watching butterflies flutter around flowers, and keep breathing in fresh, clean air. Let's not wait for a miracle – let's be the miracle for Mother Earth. Happy Environment Day!" Coming to Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain, the show airs every Monday to Saturday at 9:00 PM on Shemaroo Umang. With its engaging storyline, impressive cast and high production values, it has quickly become a viewer favourite. Set against the regal backdrop of a grand haveli, the show delves into themes of love, power, societal expectations and the personal struggles of its characters. Besides Diksha, Sheel, and Ishita Ganguly, the sitcom also features Ektaa BP Singh and Gaurav Savita in the lead roles. First Published: June 06, 2025, 18:20 IST
