Lewis revealed in 2020 that she had been diagnosed with stage III breast cancer on her Instagram account, where she spoke about not getting regular mammograms due to her fear of radiation. In a roundtable discussion with CNN in 2024, Lewis confirmed that she did not have a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She revealed that the tumor had metastasized, and that the cancer had progressed to stage IV.
After being hired by MTV in 1997 as one of the new VJs, Lewis became the host of shows like 'Total Request Live' and 'Hot Zone,' where she interviewed rising and established talents for the network. In 2001, she became the host of her own talk show, 'The Ananda Lewis Show,' which ran from 2001 to 2002. She later joined Entertainment Tonight's spinoff 'The Insider' as a correspondent from 2004 to 2005. After taking a break from the industry to pursue carpentry, Lewis returned as the host for the 2019 revival of TLC's 'While You Were Out.'
Born in Los Angeles in 1973, Lewis moved to San Diego shortly after her parents divorced where she lived with her sister, mother, and grandmother. After graduating from Howard University in 1995, Lewis began her career as the host of BET's Teen Summit, a talk show that was hosted by teenagers. After working with BET, Lewis was noticed by MTV and was hired in August of 1997. Shortly after moving to New York, Lewis became one of the main VJs for MTV, hosting shows such as 'Total Request Live,' a daily top ten music video countdown show. Lewis became one of the interviewers for 'Hot Zone,' a series focused on highlighting music videos and exclusive interviews with musicians.
Lewis left MTV in 2001 to pursue her own talk show, 'The Ananda Lewis Show,' which aired on television from 2001 to 2002. In 2004, Lewis joined the cast and crew of 'The Insider,' a nightly program that served as a spinoff to 'Entertainment Tonight,' where she was a host. After leaving 'The Insider,' Lewis became a carpenter and a contractor. In 2019, she became the host of 'While You Were Out,' a TLC reality series.
She is survived by her son, Langston.

Eric Dane Was Reportedly Dating Two Women Before His Red Carpet Debut With Janell Shirtcliff

Eric Dane was reportedly juggling two women. Not long after the actor's sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer on June 16, where he opened up about his battle with ALS, Dane made a red carpet debut with filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff. The two attended the premiere of his new show, Countdown, hand in hand. And now, reports are alleging that he's been dating someone else too. More from SheKnows Are Eric Dane & Rebecca Gayheart Still Together? Here's Everything We Know Amid His Battle With ALS According to sources on Page Six, actress and model Priya Jain was 'blindsided' by their red carpet appearance because, according to the source, they had been dating instead. Per the source, Dane and Jain have been dating since the summer of 2024 and were even pictured together a few times over the past few months (the last sighting was in May). In November 2024, the two reportedly became 'exclusive.' Since then, the two had reportedly been very close, with Jain spending 'almost every night at his house' and even getting matching tattoos together late last year. The actor also reportedly gave her a custom tattoo with an at-home tattoo gun shortly after. Jain and Dane reportedly last saw each other this past weekend, but there was never a breakup between them. 'They never broke up,' the source affirmed. As for Dane's relationship with Shirtcliff, Entertainment Tonight confirmed their relationship following their head-turning red carpet moment. 'The two have been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years and care deeply for each other,' the source told the outlet. 'Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him.' 'They're extremely close and mean a great deal to one another,' the source continued, adding that they recently were spotted on a date night at the Chateau Marmont. On the date, the source said they 'had a beautiful day together full of laughs, lightness, and love.''Eric has been in such great spirits and is handling everything with such strength,' the source said of Dane. 'He's a true warrior.' In addition to Jain and Shirtcliff, Dane is still married to his wife, Rebecca Gayheart. The two got married in 2004 and are parents to two daughters together, Billie Beatrice, 15, and Georgia Geraldine, 13. In 2018, after 14 years of marriage, Gayheart filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and 'TBD' as their separation. But, in March 2025, well into Dane's ALS journey, Gayheart requested to dismiss the divorce. ‘16 and Pregnant' star Whitney Purvis denied entry to son Weston's funeral after showing up late: report

'16 and Pregnant' star Whitney Purvis was denied entry to her son Weston's funeral after she arrived late, only to find out that she was not put on the guest list, according to a report. The former reality star's eldest child died at age 16 on June 2 in Gordon County, Georgia. An official cause of death remains unknown. Two weeks after confirming his death, Purvis had arrived at Weston's funeral at 4 p.m., having been told that was the scheduled start time. However, she was turned away at the door when it became clear the ceremony had taken place two hours prior — and her name wasn't even on the guest list, TMZ reports. Sources close to Purvis blame her ex-husband Weston Lewis Gosa for the mix-up, though he strongly disputes her version of events. Instead, Gosa insists he told his ex — with whom he also shares 11-year-old son River — the correct start time, and claims she turned up at 4:15 p.m., by which point the chapel doors were locked. Insiders claim that once Purvis, who appeared on the MTV show in 2009, arrived to lay her son to rest, she was told that the service was over. They alleged that Purvis' side of the family was also denied access to the service. Gosa, for his part, insists that he told Purvis that the viewing started at 2 p.m., with the service commencing at 4 p.m. sharp. He told the outlet that he called his ex a week in advance to let her know about the strict guest list, and further asserted that her mother, aunt and uncle were all in attendance as they arrived at 3 p.m. Just after 5 p.m., Gosa claimed he received angry text messaged from Purvis. In one text, he claims she had called him 'evil' for barring her from their son's memorial service. He further alleged that after Purvis claimed she had not been put on the guest list, he responded with a photo of her name being on there. The services for Weston were held in private 'due to the nature and circumstances of this tragic loss.' Gosa and his current wife, Amy, have purchased a separate urn for Whitney to house some of her son's ashes. Earlier this month, Purvis confirmed her son's death in a heartbreaking post on social media. 'This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don't understand,' she wrote on Facebook. 'Oh my baby is gone and I don't know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true.' Purvis had welcomed Weston with Gosa during the first season of MTV's '16 and Pregnant' in April 2009. She went on to welcome River in 2014, however the couple had split shortly after. The reality star went on to lose custody of both her children to their father after she was arrested in 2024 for failing to make child support payments, TMZ reported. Weston Sr., for his part, had several run-ins with the law — including arrests for driving on a suspended license and smashing electronics.

Eric Dane, who famously bathed with 2 women, now appears tangled up with 3

Eric Dane and filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff looked to be in full couple mode Wednesday at the premiere of Prime Video's 'Countdown,' a new series he stars in with Jensen Ackles. Hands were held; smiles and admiring glances were exchanged. He was definitely not with Rebecca Gayheart, whom he married in October 2004 and just said — on national news, no less — is the person he reaches out to daily for 'stalwart' support. Nope, even though Gayheart in early March requested the dismissal, without prejudice, of the 2018 divorce petition she had filed against Dane. Dane revealed in April that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a.k.a. ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Earlier this week, he revealed that he had lost function in his right arm due to the neuromuscular disease and felt his left arm failing. So who's dating whom? Dane's relationship status is a bit fuzzy. The 'Grey's Anatomy' alum, 52, has been 'in an on-and-off relationship' with Shirtcliff for more than three years, Entertainment Tonight reported Wednesday. The two 'care deeply for each other,' the outlet said, citing a source who added, 'Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him.' Shirtcliff, who is a photographer and director, is in pre-production on the film 'Generation Angst' and post-production on the horror flick 'Triton,' according to IMDb. But — Dane's alleged girlfriend, actor Priya Jain, 27, was 'blindsided' by his appearance at the event with Shirtcliff, 41, a source told Page Six on Thursday. Jain and Dane met last summer and became 'exclusive' in November 2024, the source said. 'They never broke up.' The two have been photographed arm-in-arm in public and have matching tattoos, and she has spent 'almost every night' at his house since they coupled up, Page Six said. They reportedly were together last weekend. This three-way confusion is a tiny bit reminiscent of Dane and Gayheart's nude 2009 bathtub video with actor Kari Ann Peniche, which the 'Euphoria' actor discussed in 2019 with Glamour. In the leaked video, the three could be seen bathing together naked — not having sex — and discussing their potential porn names about 15 years into the Gayheart-Dane marriage. 'I don't necessarily think I was breaking any laws and corrupting anybody. We were just three people taking a bath,' he told the magazine. He added, referring at the time to the entirety of his past — including the bathtub video and his addiction to prescribed painkillers — 'I have no regrets nor do I make any apologies for my life experience. It's my life experience and I am at peace with all of it.' As for Gayheart, she and Dane remain estranged as husband and wife even though she called off the divorce and they are in frequent contact as co-parents to their two daughters. 'I call Rebecca. I talk to her every day,' Dane said Monday on 'Good Morning America,' fighting back tears as he talked about battling ALS. 'We have managed to become better friends and better parents. And she is probably my biggest champion, my most stalwart supporter, and I lean on her.'
