Trans activists push measure to issue ‘predator' warning to schools if Cuomo wins mayoral race
Lefty activists pushed a resolution this week to issue a predator warning to schools if Andrew Cuomo is elected mayor.
The bizarre political stunt happened Wednesday at the Community Education Council meeting for District 2. The motion called on the city to protect students and staff, specifically from Cuomo. It referenced his 2021 resignation following a report by state Attorney General Letitia James into allegations that he sexually harassed 11 women.
'Given the extremely serious nature of the allegations against Cuomo . . . CEC2 urges the City Council to institute protocols to safeguard students and school staff from a predatory mayor,' read the proposal, which failed in a 4-4 vote.
'I think this is one of the worst resolutions I've ever seen by District 2,' said Vice President Leonard Silverman, 'This one is just horrific.'
'If you have opposition to Andrew Cuomo becoming a mayor, I suggest you don't vote for him,' said the veep for District 2, which covers most of lower and Midtown Manhattan and part of the Upper East Side.
Cuomo has adamantly denied all sexual misconduct allegations, and district attorneys concluded that there were insufficient legal grounds to bring criminal charges against him.
Cuomo's campaign referred to a statement from Bishop Orlando Findlayter, pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship in Brooklyn.
'This is why people are so distrustful of politics — especially the politics of the far left that appears to be fueled by underhanded, transparent tactics and division,' Findlayter said, adding that Cuomo is a man of 'integrity.'
'Those attempting to engage in vile gutter politics for their own personal gain should really reflect on their actions going forward,' he added.
Over 50 activists with the groups Trans Formative Schools and Aunties & Friends for Liberation flooded the meeting in support of the resolution and others including one opposing President Trump's executive order ending 'radical indoctrination' in schools.
'Diversity, equity and inclusion make our kids better people and there is evidence that it improves educational outcomes,' one mom claimed during public comment.
They awkwardly danced the 'Macarena' and 'YMCA' in opposition to supporters of Resolution 248, a now-moot measure calling on the city Department of Education to review its policy allowing students to play on sports teams according to their gender identity.
'I would like to protect the right of women who were born biologically as women to have a fair environment in which to compete,' argued one father.

Mamdani was outside the NYC Campaign Finance Board, where he was petitioning for a last-minute rule change that would allow him to spend more donor money, due to the constant barrage of Cuomo Super PAC ads. He said Cuomo is trying to 'buy the election.' A spokeswoman for the Cuomo campaign says the former governor cannot legally direct a Super PAC to do anything. She said Momani is simply trying to change the subject from a discussion of antisemitism: 'Mr. Mamdani has a super PAC and a fringe party financially supporting his candidacy and smearing Governor Cuomo, and has been, potentially illegally, coordinating with other candidates to attack Governor Cuomo. This latest attempt to change the subject from Mr. Mamdani's inability to clearly and unequivocally condemn the use of the repugnant phrase 'globalize the intifada' are as transparent as they are desperate.' Meanwhile, the former governor was endorsed by the Daily News on Friday, and influential South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn was also endorsed. Finally, late Friday, City Council Speaker and candidate for Mayor Adrienne Adams said she would not cross-endorse, as Mamdani and Lander have done. Are voters forgiving, and are they willing to elect people who may have left office under a cloud? This year, Andrew Cuomo, Jim McGreevey and Anthony Weiner are all trying to make a comeback. Cuomo resigned as governor of New York following allegations of sexual harassment. McGreevey left the New Jersey governor's mansion following public acknowledgement of homosexuality and an extramarital affair. Weiner resigned from Congress in a sexting scandal. All three are back running for office this year, so-called "boomerang candidates," coming back for a second bite at the political apple. Cuomo is running in the New York City mayoral primary, Weiner is running for City Council, and McGreevey is seeking to become mayor of Jersey City. "Voters can vote based on whatever they want" They are running based on their experience, telling voters they have it what it takes in these difficult political times. "I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm running for the City Council. Arguably, the most qualified person ever to run for this office," Weiner said. "If people want to talk about my history, or they want to talk about something they know about my private life, that's fine. Voters can vote based on whatever they want." "I don't even think necessarily they have to forget, but the have to forgive. They have to say, alright, you, for whatever reason, made a bad decision, ABC, but overall, we think you're competent, we think you're experienced, we think you're committed to the well being of the city, and we're going to trust you," McGreevey said. "I think New Yorkers are forgiving people" Political experts think they each have a shot, especially because voters all across the nation sent President Trump back to the White House despite his conviction in the Stormy Daniels case. "I think New Yorkers are forgiving people, and they're willing to give someone a second chance," law professor and political analyst J.C. Polanco said. Polanco says the members of the boomerang group is coming back because public service and the spotlight are hard to give up. "I mean, it's just addictive, and there's no way you get it out of your system. And remember, in politics, timing and your name identification matters," Polanco said. "To some degree, candidates don't get to choose what voters care about. And if someone knows something about me that they don't like, and they say, I'll never vote for Weiner, so be it. But a lot more people are saying to me, You know what? We need someone with guts and someone with experience. This is kind of that moment," Weiner said. Cuomo and Weiner will find out Tuesday if voters are in a forgiving mood. McGreevey has no primary, so he'll have to wait until November.

Incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat running on an independent line in the November contest, sparred with a longtime Andrew Cuomo aide on social media — after she called out Hizzoner's penchant for clubbing.
