A Pedro Pascal Lookalike Contest Winner Looks So Much Like The Actor That People Think It Was A "Prank"

A Pedro Pascal Lookalike Contest Winner Looks So Much Like The Actor That People Think It Was A "Prank"

Yahooa day ago

The fake Pedro Pascal may be as charming as the real Pedro Pascal.
On Tuesday, The Daily Show shared a behind-the-scenes clip to its X account in which Jon Stewart revealed to fans that the winner of a New York-based Pedro Pascal lookalike contest was George Gountas — who happens to be the lighting designer for The Daily Show.
After inviting Gountas on stage, who looks like he could be a long-lost member of Pascal's family, Stewart made a confession.
'I've never noticed he looks like Pedro Pascal,' Stewart admitted, before showing a photo of what Gountas typically looks like in the office, which looks less like Pascal, but still very Pascal-esque.
'How did you do this?' Stewart asked Gountas.
Gountas then launched into a very funny explanation as to how he went from 'Pedro No. 5' during a silly contest on Sunday to its ultimate winner.
Gountas explained that a fellow Daily Show staffer noticed fliers for the contest last week. The contest was held at Son Del North, a Mexican restaurant in the lower east side, and the prize for the winner was $50 and a year's supply of free burritos, according to local news station FOX 5 New York.
The co-owner of the eatery, chef Annisha Garcia, told People she was inspired to create the contest after coming across an interview with Pascal in which he said that there isn't any 'good Mexican food in New York City.' Gountas went on to tell Stewart about the contest, who was only mildly interested, and completely forgot about it. That was until he mentioned it to his wife, Jenny, just two days before the contest — and Jenny told Gountas he was absolutely doing it.

Contesting whether Gountas liked it or not, Jenny enlisted the help of a neighbor, who was a stylist, in order to pin down Pascal's look.
'And I showed up on Father's Day — you were supposed to pre-sign up, I did not sign up,' Gountas said. 'I rolled up, and I was like, 'Yo, I'm here.' And they're like, 'You're going to win.''
And he did.

Later on in his discussion with Stewart, Gountas eventually revealed that his wife had an ulterior motive in her insistence that he enter the Pedro pageant — and it's that she wanted to use Gountas' 15 minutes of fame to meet the real Pascal.
So, Gountas decided to be a good hubby and shared his wife's request on camera in hopes that Pascal would receive the message.

'Hey Pedro, this is Pedro No. 5 from New York,' Gountas began. 'It would be a great, great, great gift if you could meet my wife, Jenny. It would mean the world to her. We need to make this happen.'
Although it's currently unclear if Pascal is even aware of this whole fiasco, fans of the Daily Show were blown away by how much Gountas does look like the Last of Us star. See their comments below.

This Is Officially The WORST-Rated Beer In The World

Beers can be as nuanced as a bottle of wine—each crafted with its own unique blend of hops, grains, water, and yeast. Those who prefer hoppier beers might reach for an IPA, while those looking for a more decadent brew might choose an imperial stout. And while people might have different taste buds and preferences when it comes to beer, one thing drinkers can align on is what beers they don't want to drink. The popular review site Beer Advocate keeps an up-to-date list of the all-time worst-rated beers from around the world—and it might shock some to learn that one of the United State's most popular brands tops the list. Budweiser Select 55, clocking in at a low 2.4% ABV, takes the crown no one wants to win as the worst-rated beer. This ranking is determined by averaging user ratings, excluding beers with too few reviews, and continuously updating the list as new data comes in. There appears to be a trend among the list of worst-ranking beers, in that the majority of them are light beers. Following Budweiser Select 55 (which I've never even heard of, btw), comes Natural Light, Miller Extra Light, Keystone Light, and Natural Ice. Budweiser Select 55 has an average rating of 1.65 stars out of 5, while the beers that rank second through fifth worst score 1.77, 1.81, 1.85, and 1.86, respectively. One of the reviews for Budweiser Select 55 stated, "This really is the worst beer ever made." Ouch. But it's not all bad news for Budweiser. The brand's classic Budweiser did rank #63 in terms of popularity. We'll take that! You Might Also Like Insanely Easy Weeknight Dinners To Try This Week 29 Insanely Delicious Vodka Cocktails

Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson Reunite for Upcoming Movie Sequel

Academy Award nominee Owen Wilson is officially reuniting with Ben Stiller for Paramount Pictures' upcoming fourth installment to the blockbuster comedy franchise Meet the Parents. Wilson will be reprising his role as Kevin Rawley, who was originally introduced in the 2000 movie as Pam's wealthy ex-fiance. He will next be seen starring in his first Apple TV+ show Stick, which centers around a former professional golfer and a young gifted golfer. Besides Wilson and Stiller, Meet the Parents 4 will also feature the return of its main cast members, including Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes, Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes, and Teri Polo as Pam. They will be joined by pop superstar and Oscar nominee Ariana Grande, who is expected to portray the fiancée of Greg and Pam's son. At the moment, further details about its plot are still currently under wraps. The new installment is written and directed by John Hamburg. In addition to leading the cast, Stiller and De Niro are also serving as producers alongside Hamburg, John Lesher, Jay Roach, and Jane Rosenthal. It is also executive produced by Jacqueline Garell and Matt Reilly. The movie is a production by Tribeca Productions, Delirious Media, Red Hour Films, and Particular Pictures. Meet the Parents 4 is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 25, 2026. At the moment, it has no direct competition at the box office, but it will still be debuting in the same month as two high profile movies: The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Greta Gerwig's The Chronicles of Narnia reboot.
