Who is leading the Giro d'Italia? Maglia rosa and general classification standings
The Giro d'Italia general classification standings shuffled again on stage eight as Primoz Roglic conceded the leader's pink jersey to Italian veteran Diego Ulissi.
Ulissi was part of a nearly 20-strong breakaway group that escaped on a frantic, relentless hilly stage in the Apennines, won by Jayco AlUla's Luke Plapp.

Ulissi took third on the stage but the bonus seconds, and a nearly four-minute lead on the peloton, were enough to see him pull on pink and end a four-year drought for a home wearer of the iconic jersey.
The race remains a battle between Roglic and his major rival Juan Ayuso, who won stage seven, and the Spaniard nicked another second battle from the 2023 champion with a late sprint to the line in Castelraimondo.

Fiorentina forward urged against Manchester United transfer
Former Italy goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has urged Fiorentina forward Moise Kean to turn down a transfer to Manchester United. Kean has been linked with a move to Manchester United after an excellent season in Florence. The 25-year-old scored 25 goals in 44 games across all competitions and was named in the Serie A Team of the Season in 2024/25. After difficult spells at Everton and Juventus, the upturn in Kean's performances have not gone unnoticed with United reportedly among the clubs considering a move forward. Advertisement Kean has a reported release clause of €52million (£44.5m) that will become active between July 1-15. The Italy international is viewed as a more cost-effective option than Viktor Gyokeres, who has been heavily linked with Old Trafford. However, ex-Italy goalkeeper Viviano has urged Kean to snub the move. He believes Fiorentina remains the right place for his development and pointed to a series of signings that have struggled at Manchester United. Speaking to Radio Bruno, he said: 'I hope that the boy understands that Florence can still give him a lot: on more coveted stages, he has, in fact, shown that he has failed, and Fiorentina could be ideal for him for at least another year. 'It is true that, on a sporting level, Manchester United are not shining, but they are still one of the most important clubs in the history of football, with considerable economic power. Inter Milan President Confirms Galatasaray Target ‘Has Not Asked Us To Leave'
Inter Milan President Confirms Galatasaray Target 'Has Not Asked Us To Leave' Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta confirms that Hakan Calhanoglu 'hasn't asked to leave' Inter Milan despite Galatasaray links. Marotta spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews. He addressed the rumours surrounding the Turkish international midfielder's future. Advertisement Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been at the centre of transfer rumours recently. Reportedly, Turkish champions Galatasaray are keen to sign the 31-year-old. However, there has not been an offer to Inter yet. At least officially. Rather, reports indicate that Galatasaray have been in direct contact with Calhanoglu and his representatives. The Istanbul giants could aim to convince the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder on the move initially. Then approach Inter formally. Marotta: 'Hakan Calhanoglu Hasn't Asked Inter Milan To Leave' MILAN, ITALY – MARCH 11: Hakan Calhanoglu of FC Internazionale celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and Feyenoord at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on March 11, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta updated on the situation with Calhanoglu. 'We're in constant contact with him,' he said of the midfielder. Advertisement 'I don't see any discomfort or unhappiness at staying here on his part,' the Nerazzurri President insisted. 'From a professional standpoint, he's shown great respect. We have absolutely nothing to reproach him for.' Then, Marotta noted that 'rumours are a typical part of the transfer market.' 'And then they're magnified by the fact that we're in this competition. And then other considerations revolve around that.' But Marotta warned that the transfer rumours can become 'specious.'

Ex Marseille Star Squanders Opportunity To Impress In Inter Milan 2-1 Urawa Red Diamonds FIFA Club World Cup Win
Ex Marseille Star Squanders Opportunity To Impress In Inter Milan 2-1 Urawa Red Diamonds FIFA Club World Cup Win Luis Henrique failed to take advantage of a chance to make his mark in Inter Milan's 2-1 Club World Cup win over Urawa Red Diamonds. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, argue that there was no end product from the Brazilian. Advertisement Luis Henrique made his first start for Inter Milan against Urawa Red Diamonds yesterday. The Brazilian had just signed for Inter a couple weeks ago. And Henrique had already shown flashes of his quality with his substitute appearance against Monterrey a few days ago. Therefore, Luis Henrique was certainly one of the main players to watch in the Inter starting eleven against Urawa Reds. Luis Henrique Fails To Impress For Inter Vs Urawa Red Diamonds Welcome Inter Milan Luis Henrique Article Image In the view of the Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Luis Henrique looked very much below par. The Brazilian did look to use his pace and technical ability from time to time. Advertisement However, Henrique generally would size up his defender and go sideways. He was unable to really cause any panic in the Urawa Reds defense with any of the dribbles he attempted. In wide areas, the Brazilian had little effect on the match. Then around the penalty area, very little that Henrique attempted came off. There is no doubt that Luis Henrique is a player with quality. However, that failed to materialize into anything tangible yesterday.
