Assessed by UL Solutions, Helm.ai has achieved ASPICE Capability Level 2 for its engineering processes and has been certified to meet ISO 26262 ASIL-B(D) requirements for components of its perception system delivered as Software Safety Elements out of Context (SEooC) for Level 2+ systems. The ASIL-B(D) certification confirms that these SEooC components can be integrated into production-grade vehicle systems as outlined in the safety manual, while ASPICE Level 2 reflects Helm.ai's structured and controlled software development practices.
Built using Helm.ai's proprietary Deep Teaching™ technology, Helm.ai Vision delivers advanced surround view perception that alleviates the need for HD maps and Lidar sensors for up to Level 2+ systems, and enables up to Level 3 autonomous driving. Deep Teaching™ uses large-scale unsupervised learning from real-world driving data, reducing reliance on costly, manually labeled datasets. The system handles the complexities of urban driving across several international regions, including dense traffic, varied road geometries, and complex pedestrian and vehicle behavior. It performs real-time 3D object detection, full-scene semantic segmentation, and multi-camera surround-view fusion, enabling the self-driving vehicle to interpret its surroundings with high precision.
Additionally, Helm.ai Vision generates a bird's-eye view (BEV) representation by fusing multi-camera input into a unified spatial map. This BEV representation is critical for improving the downstream performance of the intent prediction and planning modules.

Ford Recalls Nearly 200,000 Mustang Mach-E SUVs Because of Lock Malfunction
Ford is recalling 197,432 Mustang Mach-E SUVs from 2021 through 2025 model years over an issue that could trap children in the vehicle. The door locks may not open from the exterior when battery power is low, potentially leaving back-seat occupants who can't use the inside door release—particularly children—unable to get out of the vehicle. According to recall documents , the powertrain control module will need to be replaced on the affected vehicles. Ford has issued a recall of nearly 200,000 Mustang Mach-E SUVs from 2021–2025 model years to fix a problem that could unexpectedly lock rear passengers in the vehicle. The problem stems from a software glitch that appears when the car battery is low. The driver and front passenger may become locked out after leaving the vehicle and without the ability to open the doors from the outside. The issue is particularly concerning when rear-seat passengers are children who are unable to open the door latches from the inside. An indication that can warn owners is that, with the key off, the Sync infotainment screen displays a "system to save power" warning or a blank screen. Another indication is that when exiting the vehicle through a front door, the customer could notice that the inside release handle needs to be pulled farther than normal to unlatch the door. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the issue, although several owners have reported that they have been locked out of their vehicles because of it. Ford states, in documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), that 100 percent of the vehicles have this defect. The affected models entered production in February 2020 through June 2025. According to NHTSA, Ford plans to reach out to affected owners by mail starting June 23. In the meantime, Mustang Mach-E owners can get information on the NHTSA recalls website.

Character.AI taps Meta's former VP of business products as CEO
the Google-backed AI chatbot provider with tens of millions of monthly active users, announced on Friday that Karandeep Anand, the former VP of Business Products at Meta, is joining the company as CEO. Previously a board adviser to Anand is stepping into the CEO role at a pivotal moment for the chatbot provider, as the company tries to simultaneously grow its platform while combatting child safety concerns. In recent months, has added an array of new safety features in light of an active lawsuit, which alleges that one of the company's chatbots played a role in the death of a 14-year-old Florida boy. Anand comes to with experience running advertising products that reached billions of users on Meta's apps. Previously, Anand served as Microsoft's head of product management, overseeing user experience on the company's cloud platform, Azure. Most recently, Anand served as the president of the fintech startup Brex. Anand is taking over just over 10 months after Google hired away the startup's co-founder and CEO, Noam Shazeer, who had previously led core AI teams at the Mountain View giant. At the time, Google also signed a non-exclusive agreement to use technology. deal with Google prompted federal regulators to investigate the companies' relationship over antitrust concerns. It's one of many reverse-acquihire deals in the AI startup space that's received regulatory scrutiny, alongside Microsoft's deal with has raised more than $150 million in venture funding, largely from Andreessen Horowitz. In 2024, 66% of the company's users were between the age of 18 and 24, and 72% of the company's users were women, according to data from Sensor Tower.
