R&B Min assures to resolve issue of pending contractor bills
Hyderabad: The Minister for Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy assured that he would discuss and resolve pending bills of contractors and work agencies with the Chief Minister and the Deputy CM for expediting pending works across the State. He directed officials to accelerate ongoing construction works under the R&B department, especially those nearing completion and ready for public use.
During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Sunday, the Minister reviewed the status of five pending Integrated District Office Complexes (IDOCs) in Adilabad, Warangal, Mulugu, Narayanpet, and Karimnagar. Officials brought the issue of pending bills to the Minister's notice. The Minister instructed that the Warangal and Mulugu IDOCs, which are in the final stages, be completed immediately and made ready for inauguration.
Reviewing the pending ROB (Rail Over Bridge) constructions, the Minister specifically asked for the Madhavnagar ROB in Nizamabad to be completed at the earliest. He also instructed officials to focus on ROBs, medical colleges, and TIMS hospitals that are in the final stages of construction.
He stressed that the Roads & Buildings department carries major responsibilities and urged officers to prioritise and finish critical infrastructure projects swiftly. 'Better roads enhance transport convenience and act as a key indicator of development,' the Minister noted.
Highlighting that Greater Hyderabad sees a daily vehicular movement of over 91 lakh vehicles, he emphasised the need for high-quality road infrastructure in both urban and rural Telangana.

Bhatti asks babus to shore up non-tax revenues
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to redouble efforts towards increasing non-tax revenues. Chairing the 'Infrastructure and Capital' Sub-Committee meeting on Sunday at the Secretariat, alongside members N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Bhatti emphasised the importance of mobilising central funds in addition to improving non-tax revenue. He noted that the government is currently implementing new welfare schemes worth Rs 33,600 crore without discontinuing any programmes from the previous administration. He also highlighted that during the financial year 2023–24, revenue from the Outer Ring Road and excise duties could not be generated as anticipated. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti stressed that budget allocations are currently uneven across departments, with some receiving excessive funds while others are underfunded. He instructed that the budget be distributed equally among all departments and that expenditure disparities be minimised. All major pending projects across constituencies must be completed based on priority, he said. He urged officials to allocate and utilise budget funds based on the needs and priorities of the state. Departmental expenditures should be rationalised, and a strong focus should be placed on revenue generating departments. Expenditure, he asserted, should only be incurred when necessary, and the state must adhere to a realistic and logical spending pattern. The Deputy Chief Minister further directed that all departments operate in alignment with the ideals of public interest, development, and welfare as envisioned by the people's government. He stated that equal development across departments is essential for the overall progress of the state. He also ordered that the rationalisation process be completed within the next ten days and that comprehensive plans be prepared accordingly. The review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary (Finance) Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and senior officials from various departments.

AP: Government to hold review meeting on completion of 1 year in office
Vijayawad, Jun 22 (UNI) To mark one year in office, the N. Chandrababu Naidu headed Andhra Pradesh Government will conduct a special meeting titled 'First Step towards Good Governance' on June 23 in Amaravati, near here. The event will be held on a specially arranged dais behind the Secretariat. Originally scheduled for June 12, the meeting was postponed due to the tragic plane crash near Ahmedabad. In tomorrow's session, the government will review administrative reforms introduced over the past year, changes implemented, welfare measures delivered, and efforts made towards the state's development. A key focus will be on how to realize people's aspirations and meet developmental targets over the next four years. The district Collectors, SPs, HODs, Secretaries, MLAs, Ministers, and MPs from all 26 districts will participate in the event being held in Amaravati. The Naidu headed coalition Government completed one year in office and steps into its second year, steering the State towards reconstruction after the financial and administrative chaos left by the previous regime. Alongside short-term development goals, the coalition has also drafted and begun implementing long-term strategies like the Swarna Andhra @2047 vision for a developed Andhra Pradesh. The AP government is making rapid progress on key fronts such as the Polavaram project, Amaravati capital development, attracting industries and investments, and creating employment opportunities for 20 lakh people.
