Pankaj Tripathi's AI-generated image as Hera Pheri's Baburao goes viral, fans react
Actor Pankaj Tripathi's casting as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in 'Hera Pheri 3' is once again being debated. An AI-generated image of Tripathi as Baburao from the comedy franchise has sparked speculation about the possibility of him doing justice to the character. He had earlier reacted to the fan theories and denied any such intention of replacing Paresh Rawal after the latter's departure from the third instalment.advertisementIn a viral picture posted on Reddit, Tripathi is seen wearing a white dhoti and vest just like Rawal from 'Hera Pheri' (2000) and 'Phir Hera Pheri' (2006). Baburao's iconic gold chain, bracelet, and a thick pair of glasses were also included in the AI-generated look. The caption read, "Can Pankaj Tripathi play Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in Hera Pheri?"
Fans feel Pankaj Tripathi could reinvent Baburao, if not replace Paresh Rawal.

Some fans were not happy with the AI-genearated Baburao.
While reacting to the image, a social media user wrote, "If Pankaj Tripathi is taken into the role and Paresh Rawal does not agree, then maybe they should give the movie a new flavour with a new name, role change or something. Pankaj Tripathi is a very good actor, and he can definitely reinvent the role as per his capabilities. Unfortunately, he cannot exactly copy Paresh's role, which I think both Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi are aware of."
In-spite of praising Pankaj Tripathi;s acting prowess, fans rejected him as Baburao.
Another user wrote, "Pankaj Tripathi could bring something valuable to the role, but he wouldn't be a replacement, he'd be a reinvention. He'd probably make a good Babu Bhaiya type character in a spin-off or reboot, but stepping into Paresh Rawal's shoes directly would feel off. Audiences would constantly compare them, and the charm of the original might get lost. So respectfully, no."
Fans feel Pankaj Tripathi would not be able to recreate Paresh Rawal's charisma as Baburao.
A fan also commented, "No, Pankaj's versatility was brutally exposed in the movie 'Atal,' he plays subtle characters which are similar. On the contrary Babu bhaiyya is the opposite, loud, charismatic and very relatable. Paresh Rawal as an actor is one of the most versatile we have seen in Bollywood."Amid the ongoing controversy over Paresh Rawal's exit from 'Hera Pheri 3,' the actor shared a post on X captioned as, "My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest."Rawal's lawyers, in an interview with IANS, said, "Admittedly, they did not deliver the story, screenplay and also a draft of a long-form agreement which was fundamental to the engagement of our client. In the absence of these and also since Mr Nadiadwala, the producer of the original films, issued notice to our client and raised issues on the making of the film, our client chose to exit and returned the money with interest by terminating the Term sheet."advertisementSuniel Shetty, who plays Shyam in the 'Hera Pheri' franchise, in an interview with India Today expressed shock. He said, "I have no clue about this. This is absolutely shocking. I first thought about texting him, and then I thought I'd meet him and would discuss it. I have had no word about it with anybody. Even Akshay is clueless as to what happened."Actor-comedian Johny Lever reacted to the row over Rawal stepping down from the film and suggested that the team should discuss and solve the matter. In an interview with Zoom, he said, "Mujhe lagta hai ki kar lena chahiye unko film, baithke baat karein, matter solve karein kyunki fans bohut miss karenge Paresh ji ko film mein, maza nahi aayega na waisa unke bina. To baat karke solve karlena chahiye, meri nazar mein to yahi sahi hai. (I feel that they should do the film, sit and talk, solve the matter, because fans will miss Paresh ji a lot, it will not be fun without him. So they should talk and solve the matter)."Rawal will next be seen in Vaani Kapoor-Aparshakti Khurana's 'Badtameez Gill' and Akshay's 'Welcome To The Jungle', directed by Ahmed Khan.

Aly Goni Posts Sidharth-Kiara Meme, Writes 'Enough Internet For Today'
Recently, the Laughter Chefs contestant shared an old photo of Jasmin on his Instagram stories, where she was seen wearing a white crop-top and jeans. Aly captioned the picture with, 'Kya Jasmin chapri hai (Is Jasmin tacky)," and added a laughing emoji. In response, Jasmin shared a sketch of Aly and wrote, 'Kya Aly chapri hai (Is Aly tacky)". Although Aly was playfully teasing his girlfriend on social media, the 'chapri" comment did not sit well with netizens. Many users took to Reddit to criticise Aly, expressing their disappointment in his words. Some accused him of disrespecting his girlfriend, while others labelled him a 'red flag". 'Who posts like this about their girlfriend?" one user commented. 'This guy is such a red flag, it's unreal," another added. One netizen even described them as 'a weird couple." Another user wrote, 'They both are d**b actually. It's not even funny, but still, Jasmin posted a sketch of him, but Aly posting this picture is just gross." However, fans of Aly and Jasmin came to their defence, suggesting that since the actors have moved in together, calling each other 'chapri" on Instagram might simply be a playful dare. As for Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, the couple met on the sets of Shershaah and fell in love. They got married in 2023, and are now awaiting the birth of their first child.

Deepika Padukone's 8-Hour Shift Request Isn't New, Says Siddharth P Malhotra: 'Kajol, Rani Did It Too'
Siddharth P Malhotra supports Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift demand, reveals Kajol and Rani Mukerji made similar requests years ago. Calls media chatter 'publicity'. Last month, reports surfaced that Deepika Padukone had opted out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film Spirit, allegedly due to working condition concerns—including a request for an eight-hour workday. The development came eight months after the birth of her daughter, Dua Padukone. Weighing in on the matter, filmmaker Siddharth P Malhotra—who helmed Junaid Khan's debut film Maharaj and directed Rani Mukerji's comeback film Hichki—stated that such requests are not new and have existed in the industry for years. 'We finished Hichki, the whole film, in 28 eight-hour shifts," Malhotra told IANS. 'Whether it was Rani (Mukerji), the kids, the cameramen or the spot boy, everyone finished in that time." Hichki, produced by Yash Raj Films, marked Rani Mukerji's return to the screen after the birth of her daughter Adira in December 2015. Recalling that emotional period, Rani had said, 'For 14 months, I have been there in front of her face. So I kept asking myself, 'Is it going to be worth it?'" She even confessed to 'howling in the car" on her first day back on set. Malhotra explained that every project comes with its own expectations and timelines, but the concept of eight-hour workdays isn't unprecedented. 'It's been happening for years. When I'd shot with Kajol in 2010, she used to do eight-hour shifts. She made it very clear she'd either come from 10 am to 6 pm, or 7 am to 2 pm, or for an eight-hour shift at night. Rani also did the same. Deepika isn't demanding anything new." Kajol recently supported the same practice in an interview with PTI, stating, 'I didn't work for 20 or 30 hours. I was always very clear that we would work a certain amount only, and my mom (veteran actor Tanuja) also backed me up big time on it." Addressing the controversy around Deepika's exit, Malhotra added, 'If I need an actor and am confident I can finish the film within those working hours, I'd work with them even for six hours a day. This isn't actor-specific. People are just gaining publicity in the name of Deepika Padukone. She's asking for family time, what wrong is she demanding?" He also remarked that if Vanga required longer hours from his female lead, the director could always adjust the schedule accordingly or cast someone else. 'If the director can't accommodate the timeline, they can simply choose to work with another actor," he said. Following Deepika's reported exit, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has signed Animal breakout star Triptii Dimri as the lead opposite Prabhas in Spirit. The film, backed by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, is scheduled to release in cinemas next year. First Published:

‘What wrong is Deepika demanding?': Kajol and Rani did 8-hour shifts too, says director Siddharth P. Malhotra as Bollywood debate heats up
Agencies Deepika Padukone's reported exit from Spirit over her request for an eight-hour workday has reignited debate on humane work hours in Indian cinema. Director Siddharth P Malhotra defended her stance, citing past examples like Rani Mukerji and Kajol who also worked limited shifts post-motherhood. Last month, reports broke that Deepika Padukone had stepped away from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's much-anticipated Telugu cop drama Spirit . The reason? Her request for an eight-hour workday. The demand, made just eight months after the birth of her daughter Dua Padukone, sparked debate across the industry and social media, with many questioning whether actors should dictate such terms in big-budget productions. Now, director Siddharth P Malhotra has come out in her support, pointing out that such working conditions are not only reasonable but have long existed in the industry. Speaking to IANS, Malhotra recalled wrapping his 2018 film Hichki —starring Rani Mukerji—in just 28 eight-hour shifts. The film, produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, marked Rani's return to the screen after giving birth to her daughter Adira in 2015. 'For 14 months, I have been there in front of her face. So I kept asking myself, 'Is it going to be worth it?'' Rani had shared in a past interview, reflecting on her emotional struggle as a new mother rejoining work. But Malhotra confirmed the working hours were kept tight and clear. 'She's asking for family time, what wrong is she demanding?' he asked bluntly. 'People are just gaining publicity in the name of Deepika Padukone.' Malhotra also pointed to his debut film We Are Family (2010), in which lead actor Kajol, a mother herself at the time, insisted on fixed working hours. 'When I shot with Kajol in 2010, she used to do eight-hour shifts. She made it very clear she'd either come from 10 am to 6 pm or 7 am to 2 pm,' he said, underscoring that the practice predates the current noise around Deepika's decision. Kajol recently echoed this sentiment to PTI, stating, 'I didn't work for 20 or 30 hours. I was always very clear that we would work a certain amount only, and my mom (veteran actor Tanuja) also backed me up big time on it.' Malhotra believes that directors should match their production plans with the availability of their actors—especially when such conditions are set transparently from the outset. 'If Deepika Padukone has made these conditions clear right from the start, then the director shouldn't work with her if it doesn't suit them,' he said. 'If I need an actor and am confident I can finish the film within those working hours, I'd work with them even for six hours a day.' He added that if Vanga's vision for Spirit required longer working hours, he was within his rights to recast. And that's exactly what has happened: Vanga has now brought Animal star Triptii Dimri on board as the lead opposite Prabhas in the film. While the industry is known for grueling shifts and punishing timelines, the conversation sparked by Padukone's stance opens a new chapter—one that addresses work-life balance, especially for women returning to work post-motherhood.
