Rahu and Ketu: Karmic Lessons from the Dragon's Head and Tail, Remedies and Mantra

Time of India20-05-2025

Rahu and Ketu
are two shadowy points in space that represent the north and south lunar nodes in Hindu mythology and Vedic astrology, rather than being actual planets. They are also known as the "Dragon's Head" and "Dragon's Tail," Rahu and Ketu are the strong celestial points.
They have great karmic importance that influences our spiritual development and course in life.
Rahu:
The Dragon's Head, Rahu, is a symbol for aspirations, desires, and materialistic goals. It encourages us to pursue experiences we haven't yet mastered. In the domains of life it affects, transiting Rahu frequently brings with it unforeseen chances, difficulties, or obsessions. Rahu, for instance, may cause a great desire to excel professionally, frequently at any cost, if it passes through your tenth house of career.
Rahu's energy can be overwhelming, too, and its teachings frequently advise us to strike a balance between patience and ethics and material goals.
Ketu:
The Dragon's Tail, Ketu, represents spiritual understanding, past-life experiences, and detachment. Ketu, in contrast to Rahu, encourages introspection, attachment release, and inner tranquility. We may feel uninterested or alienated when Ketu passes through a particular location.

Deeper self-discovery may result, for example, if it passes through your fourth house of home and family, which makes you feel cut off from domestic life.
Understand Rahu Ketu and Karmic Connection:
Rahu and Ketu cooperate to maintain harmony between our material and spiritual realms. Their transits serve as a reminder to balance detachment and attachment, ambition and humility. Their lessons are difficult, they lead us to development and contentment.
According to Vedic astrology, the two most potent factors influencing human fate are Rahu and Ketu.
Rahu is a symbol for material goals, aspirations, and worldly interests. Rahu also stands for materialistic endeavors, aspirations, and worldly desires. It is thought that a person's life path and karmic journey are greatly influenced by where they are located in their birth chart.
Rahu and Ketu are always in retrograde motion and in completely opposite homes in a natal chart. Because of this, they have historically had negative effects, especially in terms of the aspects or doshas that they can create when compared to other planets.
Rahu and Ketu are frequently linked to the occult and stand for fear, mischief, and obsession. They are never believed to be good because they are the Sun and Moon's natural foes.
Remedies you can perform to enhance the good effect of Rahu and Ketu:
Rahu Remedies
1. Donate money and clothes to sweepers on Saturday.
2. Take a dried coconut and move around your head seven times then leave it in the flowing water and you have to do this remedy on Friday.
3. On Saturday, you must visit any hospital canteen and drink tea from there.
Ketu Remedies
1. You are advised to worship Lord Ganesha on every Wednesday and offer Durva grass.
2. You should keep visiting some spiritual places rather spending time in disc or doing party.
3. You must feed the fishes on every Sunday and Thursday.
Mantras you should chant for these two planets:
Ketu Mantra: Om Stram Streem Strom Saha Ketve Namah..!!Rahu Mantra: Om Bhram Bhreem Bhrom Saha Rahve Namah..!!

An interdisciplinary approach to gender disparity

Dr. Dipak Giri is an Indian writer, editor and critic. He has had an immense contribution to Indian Literature. His works mainly focus on those people who live on the fringes of society like women, Dalit, tribe, transgender, homosexuals and other queer identities. His book 'Gender Perspectives in Indian Context: Critical Responses' (2021) is an important addition to gender studies in India. Indian thought content and anxieties on gender issues at times, appear to confuse a rational mind. The thought advocates freedom for all, irrespective of sexual behaviour - be they normative, non-normative or any other sexual identities. Thought of equality in totality among sexes is the contemporary thematic worry, which genuinely creates contentious questions. In this context, Dr. Giri's book raises many questions that can excite critical minds to restart conversations and invigorate critical ideas. Equality is an attitudinal weapon to appear modern and open-minded and yet somewhere thoughts rich in emotional constructive content resist the temptation to accept reality with a concealed incline towards the ancient Vedic thought of liberality with a few twirls and uncertainties. In some interesting transformative points of view, women are obtaining recognition in social, economic, political and various other fields with hesitant assertion of individuality and effective presence with unique humility. If need be, they turn vocal and authoritative and it admits of sincere wish to mark an unambiguous stamp on the modern scenario of altering perspectives with regard to gender equality and autonomy to move about with aspirations to stand firm, alone and tall. One observes it everywhere with a feeling of satisfaction in many cases. But, contrarily the situation of non-normative homosexuals, transgender and other queer identities is worse and they have to walk a long before they get social acceptance and validation because society, due to homophobia and transphobia, hardly adopts liberal attitude towards them. Dr. Giri's book surfaces all these issues and opens many doors hitherto closed as a plea for these gender queers. Dr. Giri's book with twenty-seven chapters is rich in content. As an interdisciplinary study it foregrounds issues like gender role and disparity that arise out of gender discrimination, gender violence and gender binarism. The book is a thorough discussion on gender in reference to literature and other branches of learning. It discusses female questions related to love, marriage and relationship, gender discrimination at working places and educational sectors, female foeticide, child sexual abuse, patriarchal control, gendered subjugation and many other glaring issues related with gender. The book also talks about inclusivity, education and empowerment, irrespective of gender. In a word, Dr. Giri's book 'Gender Perspectives in Indian Context' is all inclusive in nature, comprising all who are victims of gender, irrespective of sexual orientation which is always welcoming. This book is highly recommendable for students, scholars and academics who wish to do further studies on gender. No Marriages take place in this country on Tuesdays and Fridays, reason is..., country is...

No Marriages take place in this country on Tuesdays and Fridays, reason is…, country is… There are more than 190 countries in the world, and each is enriched with its own culture and traditions. The rich culture and history of any country define it, making it different from other nations. Marriage is a very common practice in every country, but it differs by the ritual. For instance, in India, as per Hindu tradition, the bride and groom circle the sacred fire, taking vows and committing to each other. In America, according to Christian rituals, during the ceremony, the couple exchanges vows and seals them by exchanging rings. Marriage, in every society, is a sacred union of not just two people but two families. But there is a country where people don't marry on Tuesdays and Fridays. Let us know about the country where marriages are not organised on Tuesday and Friday. Country Where Marriages Are Not Take Place On Fridays Greece is the country where people don't marry on Tuesdays and Fridays, and getting married on these two days is considered inauspicious and bad omen. Notably, Tuesday is considered an inauspicious day in the country because on this day in 1453 Constantinople was attacked and the Byzantine Empire fell. There is a decades-old belief in Greece that marrying on Tuesdays can bring upheaval in a person's life or can cause downfall. This is the reason people consider the day inauspicious and avoid marriage. Friday, as per Christian beliefs, Jesus Christ was crucified on this day. Hence, it is believed that people avoid doing auspicious work on this day. This is the reason why people of Greece avoid marriage on these two days. Are These Rules Still Followed Today? While many 21st-century societies have abandoned outdated traditions, Greece retains strong ties to its cultural heritage, particularly regarding marriage. In some rural areas, marriage dates are still chosen with the input of religious leaders and elders, often avoiding Tuesdays and Fridays due to deeply ingrained beliefs. Saturdays and Sundays remain the most popular days for weddings, reflecting the importance of family time. This illustrates how diverse marriage customs persist globally, reflecting unique historical and cultural contexts.

Horoscope Today, June 22, 2025: Saturn's Transit Impact on Your Zodiac Sign & Remedies

Saturn is the planet of our karmas. It teaches us valuable lessons by encouraging us to learn from our mistakes. Saturn wants us to grow, evolve, and continuously improve as we move forward in our life journey. It also wants us to introspect about our actions to avoid repeating the same mistakes. Currently, Saturn is transiting into the sign of Pisces, and from this position, it will be casting its influence on the lives of all zodiac signs. Let us discover Saturn's cosmic guidelines for you today and how you can seek his blessings in this Daily Shani Horoscope . Saturn Horoscope Today for Aries Today, Saturn teaches you that slowing down is not weakness; it is a sign of wisdom. The karmic lesson to learn is to pause before pushing ahead. Instead of rushing into action, take a deep breath and feel what needs to be focused on. Calm beginnings lead to stronger results. Consider how a moment's pause can actually quicken the clarity within. There is peace within that pause, and today it has something to offer you. Saturn Remedy: Regular yoga practice to maintain physical and mental health. Saturn Horoscope Today for Taurus Today, Saturn asks you to be rooted in your own truth. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Secure Your Child's Future with Strong English Fluency Planet Spark Learn More Undo The karmic lesson is to trust in your choices even if others cannot understand them. Do what your body and spirit tell you to do. Let peace be the guide for your steps, not outside opinions. Think of self-trust as your strongest foundation. What is right for you may not make sense to others, and that, after all, is perfectly okay. Saturn Remedy: Use a black wallet or purse to attract Shani's favor. Saturn Horoscope Today for Gemini Saturn comes to teach you about routine and patience. The karmic truth today is that what may be seen as boring acts as a silent strength builder; keep at that healthy habit, get that unfinished business over with, and witness it becoming part of your confidence. Even repetition in the smallest amounts constitutes structure for your rapid thoughts. Contemplate how consistency can support your freedom; embrace repetition because it fortifies you and steadies the grounds from under your energy. Saturn Remedy: Keep your home and workplace tidy and organized. Saturn Horoscope Today for Cancer Saturn urges you gently to watch your thoughts rather than drown in them. The karmic lesson is to separate reflection from overthinking. Let the past teach you without binding you backward. Going for a walk or journaling might be helpful to clear the emotional fog. Think how clarity arises from stillness, not from pressure. Reflect instead of ruminate, and your inner voice will calmly and steadily guide you. Saturn Remedy: Engage in charity walks, especially on Saturdays. Saturn Horoscope Today for Leo This day will weigh heavy with darkness as Saturn reminds a Leo that growth is often born in discomfort. The karmic lesson, however, is not to shun away from change simply because it makes you uneasy. One is to take the more difficult path, but one that is truthful. The adjustments in any of your routines or relationships seem tense right now, but in time, they will pay you well. Just think of your courage today shaping your peaceful tomorrow. The discomfort brought about by change is only temporary; the reward is forever. Saturn Remedy: Play or listen to meditative music to soothe the mind. Saturn Horoscope Today for Virgo Today, Saturn asks you to slow down and listen into your deeper self. The karmic lesson is to leave some room where quiet can dwell, so that clarity may arise. There must be no forcing of productivity-rest is as valid and can as well serve as productivity. Maybe a sudden break from routine can open your mind to new revelations. Balance your time for stillness with renewed determination. Inspiration comes when you give yourself the permission to remain still and allow your thoughts to flow. Saturn Remedy: Be cautious with your words, especially with elders and superiors. Saturn Horoscope Today for Libra Saturn accompanies your evolution toward emotional balance. The karmic lesson is learning to set limits without apology. Saying "no" gives back time and heart. Be kind yet very firm with your choices today; the serenity that follows from firm choices will teach more than people-pleasing ever could. Believe your strength shines within your limits. No with grace and without guilt is the act of honouring self, not the act of rejecting another. Saturn Remedy: Work on maintaining a calm and composed mindset. Saturn Horoscope Today for Scorpio Saturn aids you in transforming ancient wounds into wisdom today. The karmic lesson is to refuse to bear your past. Let memories channel you, not construct you. Journal, reflect, and move forward consciously. Think of the origins-where you have been for so long and how free you feel when you stop narrating your own tragic story: Your past serves as a glorious birthplace for your future, not a final refuge-allow space for newer chapters. Saturn Remedy: Be mindful of others' boundaries and respect them. Saturn Horoscope Today for Sagittarius Saturn suggests a softer reminder that small changes govern larger outcomes, "The karmic lesson today is that the choice between long-term wellness and short-term comfort must be made." Today, try to swap a single habit: Wake up earlier, do some exercises, or minimize distractions. That lone act will trigger the initiation of a new chain of events. How do you think discipline can be equated with self-love? Today's little change in habits will silently, but powerfully, alter your future. Saturn Remedy: Limit your usage of electronic devices on Saturdays. Saturn Horoscope Today for Capricorn Saturn urges action, not overthought. The karmic lesson states that clarity is usually attainable only after you've done something. Don't wait for perfect conditions: Instead, take that one small step toward what matters to you. Your own efforts will generate the direction you seek. Even short tasks, when pursued with intent, have grounding effects. Then think of that relief given by structure, when thoughts fly around! You find clarity by doing, not by waiting, hence your peace is an offspring of your action. Saturn Remedy: Develop and follow a disciplined daily routine. Saturn Horoscope Today for Aquarius Saturn tells you to pause and make sure your priorities are in order. The karmic lesson is learning the difference between urgent and truly important. In a rush, mistakes will be made or someone will burn out. Lower down the pace and realign. Do what matters in the long term. Think of how your time moulds your energy. Do not mix urgency with importance- Saturn rewards what is done by wisdom and not just speed. Saturn Remedy: Allocate time for self-reflection and introspection. Saturn Horoscope Today for Pisces Today Saturn offers forgiveness and gentle correction instead of punishment. You have given incessantly; perhaps too much, and now the moment has come to restore a balance. Select ease without guilt: say no, take rest, or turn aside; even a brief pause will restore your inner flow. Think of it as how your boundaries guard your spirit: where balance is invited into places you've pushed too far, you'll feel strength return through gentleness rather than struggle. Saturn Remedy: Particularly avoid eating meat on Saturdays.
