Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo signs new three-year deal
The 51-year-old guided Forest to a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, securing European qualification for the first time since the 1995-96 season.
For much of the campaign, it looked as though Forest were going to qualify for the Champions League, but they lost five of their last eight games.

However, that has not prevented owner Evangelos Marinakis from rewarding Nuno following the club's highest league finish for 30 years, while they also reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup before losing to Manchester City.
Nuno said: 'I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football club.
'Since we arrived at Forest, we have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the fans and everyone at the Club, which helped us achieve great things last season.
'I would like to thank our owner, Mr Marinakis, for his constant support and backing. It is important to me to share a strong relationship with our ownership and we have thoroughly enjoyed working together ever since I arrived at Forest.
'Now is the time to work harder than ever as we strive for more special memories together.'
The former Wolves and Tottenham boss arrived at the City Ground in December 2023 following the sacking of Steve Cooper, and helped the club avoid relegation on the final day of the season.
Marinakis said: 'Nuno has made a great impact and performed very well during his time with us so far.
'He has demonstrated that he maximises player performance and is an expert at developing players, whilst also embedding our young talent into the first team set-up.
'We enjoy a strong and solid relationship together and, above all, we share the same dream and ambition of writing a new history for Nottingham Forest, competing in the Premier League and in Europe and winning trophies for our great club.'

The Bees' French forward netted 20 Premier League goals last term. But despite the opportunity to reunite with Frank in north London, Mbeumo reportedly favours a £60m move to Manchester United. Semenyo then became the clear alternative after also proving himself to be a goal menace when cutting inside on his left foot. However, the Cherries have already seen their squad ravaged by big sides this summer. Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid for £50million last month, while fellow defender Illya Zabarnyi could be off to Paris Saint-Germain for around £60m. And Semenyo is also on the shortlist at Man United, who could move should they end up losing Mbeumo to Spurs.

Arsenal star lifts lid on their huge transfer plans - 'It's going to be busy'
Arsenal are poised to splash the cash in the summer transfer window, with the arrival of £51million midfielder Martin Zubmendi set to be followed by that of a big-money striker Arsenal star Jurrien Timber has told fans to expect a 'busy' summer transfer window as the Gunners prepare to spend big. Mikel Arteta's side have funds to invest after having to settle for second place in the Premier League for a third season in a row. First through the door looks set to be Martin Zubimendi, with Arsenal ready to pay his £51million release clause and fend off interest from Real Madrid. The Spaniard, 26, will offer a new element in Arteta's midfield but it's up front where fans' focus lies. The Gunners are weighing up a move for one of Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko. Sporting Lisbon striker Gyokeres bagged 54 goals last season while 22-year-old RB Leipzig prospect Sesko has youth on his side and is a long-term target. Alternatives include Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Ramos, as dream signing Alexander Isak has been deemed too expensive. Whoever ends up leading Arteta's attack in the new term, Timber expects more business to be done in other areas. "It will definitely be a busy one for Arsenal," the Dutch defender told podcast Matchday. "I think we will get a lot of players, because we had so many injuries last season. At one point we almost had no players left. So for the depth of the players they definitely want to get players." Timber's own position could be under threat, having primarily played at right-back since his £34million arrival from Ajax in 2023. Arsenal are understood to be looking at a number of full-backs in addition to work being done to bolster their midfield and attack. Gunners co-chairman Josh Kroenke recently offered a hint towards the club's approach to the summer after another season without a trophy. "We plan to invest to get behind winning and doing better next season," Kroenke wrote to supporters in May. "We're delighted we have our sporting director, Andrea [Berta], who will play an important role in this. He is part of a unified and strong team, supported by the board, who are crystal clear on exactly what we need to do and the way in which we want to do it. Which striker should Arsenal sign - Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko? Let us know your pick in the comments section. "The right way. The Arsenal way. Ultimately, we all want the same thing. We're as hungry for success as you are and that goes for everyone who works for the club." Towards the end of the campaign, Arteta was asked if he felt backed by the club's hierarchy. "Yeah, but that's not something new," the Gunners manager responded. "They always backed the team, the club in the best possible way. They're not going to be different in the summer."

Max Aarons to Rangers latest as Gers poised to announce capture of major summer target despite rival interest
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS are closing in on a loan deal for Bournemouth's Max Aarons. New boss Russell Martin made the 25-year-old right-back one of his first summer targets after winning the Ibrox gig earlier this month. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 3 Aarons in action for Bournemouth Credit: Getty 3 Rangers boss Russell Martin worked with Aarons previously Credit: PA 3 Leeds boss Daniel Farke also reportedly interested in Aarons Credit: Getty Bournemouth have now sanctioned a loan deal for Aarons, who spent the second half of last season with Valencia in Spain, but made just a handful of appearances. With the Gers stars due back for pre-season on Monday, Martin hopes to get the deal concluded quickly for him to travel north and join his side as they build up to the new season. Aarons made over 200 appearances for Martin's former club Norwich and was a youth player in their system during his time there. And he spoke fondly about the impact the former Canaries captain had on his development. He told the Talk Norwich Podcast last month: "The advice he would give and the relationship we built from there, he was almost like a father figure. "It's incredible. I nearly ended up back with them [Martin and Matt Gill] upon leaving Norwich that year, so that shows how the relationship just grew and grew. "They were definitely the ones that initially believed in me for sure." Now he's set to rekindle their relationship in Glasgow as he becomes his second signing after Lyall Cameron's move from Dundee was formally completed last week. And it's claimed Aarons turned down other options down south including in England's top flight. A report by TBR Football says Premier League new boys Leeds United were interested in his securing a loan deal for the former England Under 21 international. Rangers captain James Tavernier spotted training with ex-team-mate and old Premiership rival Ryan Porteous who branded him 'bad loser' Leeds are managed by Daniel Farke who was Aarons former boss at Norwich, and are also owned by 49ers Enterprises - the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers NFL team. They were part of the US consortium which completed the takeover of Rangers last month. The report also claims Burnley, who secured promotion to the Premier League, and a host of other Championship clubs were interested in the full-back as well. Rangers boss Russell Martin is looking to get players through the door with a tricky Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos on the horizon. Their pursuit of Israeli striker Dor Turgeman has apparently hit 'a major snag', with complications surrounding the current geopolitical landscape there. The Ibrox side are also preparing talks with Belgian star Nico Raskin as Martin looks to build his team around the talented midfielder.
