Google 's artificial intelligence (AI) assistant Gemini has introduced a new feature called ' Scheduled Actions ,' designed to boost user productivity and automate recurring routine tasks. Scheduled Actions allows personalised interactions, enabling users to perform tasks and receive updates tailored to their needs. These tasks include asking for a summary of the calendar and unread emails, or any creative writing. Scheduled Actions is currently available to users with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription. Pichai noted in a blog that over seven million developers are building with Gemini, which is five times more than last year. The announcement is part of many upgrades announced on May 20 across all of Google's AI offerings. Whether it is setting a regular morning routine or requesting one-off updates, Gemini is now equipped to handle tasks on a schedule without the need for repeated prompts. Users can, for example, receive a morning digest summarising their calendar events and unread emails, or set a recurring reminder to generate content ideas, such as five new blog topics every Monday. Sports enthusiasts can also schedule match updates, while entertainment fans might opt to receive summaries of award shows the day after they air. Google says the scheduled actions can be easily managed via a dedicated page within the Gemini app's settings. The feature aims to reduce repetitive interactions and help users stay informed, inspired, and organised. The feature is currently exclusive to users on premium plans, aligning with Google's strategy to add value to its paid AI services as it continues to compete with rivals in the generative AI space. In other news, Google is also reportedly testing a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature that provides users with brief, text-based summaries of current weather conditions directly within its mobile Search experience. The feature, which is currently limited in availability, has been spotted by some users in the United States when searching for city-specific weather information through the Google app on Android and iOS. According to a report by 9to5Google, the AI-powered summary appears between the standard hourly and 10-day forecast sections and aims to offer an at-a-glance understanding of the weather. The brief narrative includes key details such as wind conditions, the likelihood of rain or thunderstorms, atmospheric pressure patterns, and trends in temperature fluctuations. At present, the feature seems to be in an early testing phase, with visibility restricted to certain regions. Searches for 'weather Los Angeles' and 'weather San Diego' reportedly triggered the new summary, whereas other locations did not yield the same result. Mint was also unable to access the summaries for the mentioned cities, indicating that the rollout is likely limited to a small user group.

Google is expanding access to its AI-powered video generation model, Veo 3, for Google AI Pro subscribers. Previously limited to Ultra plan users, Veo 3 is now available through Flow—Google's AI filmmaking platform—and the Gemini mobile app. The model, introduced at Google I/O last month, supports native audio generation that syncs with visuals, allowing Pro users to create more immersive video content. Google stated that in regions where the Ultra Plan is active, AI Pro subscribers will now get limited access to Veo 3 within Flow, along with a 10-pack of trial video generations in the Gemini app. Meanwhile, Ultra subscribers will continue to enjoy higher generation limits. Google also noted that users will be notified when they approach their usage limit, including how many generations remain.
