We can now be almost entirely sure what the Galaxy Watch8 series will look like, thanks to this latest batch of press renders, courtesy of Evan Blass. The renders show the Galaxy Watch8 in Black, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic in White, and the Galaxy Watch8 Ultra 2 in Blue. The big thing this year is the move to a squickle design across the series - you may love it, some might loathe it, but it's here to stay. The vanilla Galaxy Watch8 has a flush glass top (most certainly sapphire), two separate buttons on the right and a loudspeaker on the left. The new-look Galaxy Watch8 Classic features a rotating bezel around its 1.5-inch screen, and a new three-button layout on the right, which looks almost identical to the one on the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with a crown button in the middle and two buttons on its flanks. Whether the button will rotate or be just a pusher like on the Galaxy Watch Ultra is unclear. Finally, the second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra has a fixed blue-and-orange bezel, an orange middle button, and a grey titanium case. Expect all three watches to feature Samsung's existing Exynos W1000, LTE connectivity, and Wear OS 6. The new wearables are expected alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 on July 9.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 's official event is getting closer and closer. With the approaching timeframe, more details are leaking, completing a very-detailed-already picture of what we might expect that leaks started painting months ago. Now, a new rumor is giving us some slightly concerning information – reportedly, Samsung has run into production issues with an "unknown" S Pen. It's not clear whether this "unknown" S Pen is the one designed to work with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 . However, we've heard from rumors that Samsung may have had to remove the S Pen digitizer from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , aiming for a slimmer device (which is the latest fad). So, in order for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to still support the stylus, Samsung would've needed to go the Apple route. This "unknown" S Pen may be the new one that Samsung is working on for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 . The rumor doesn't say specifically what production issues the company has run into though, but it indicates the company has stopped making the specific type of S Pen. The rumor comes from tipster @PandaFlashPro, who has a mixed track record when it comes to leaks. Nevertheless, if they are right, this could indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may launch without an S Pen available for it right away, and users who'd like to take advantage of a stylus may have to wait for some time after the Fold's release for the new S Pen. Well, as we already mentioned, Samsung may have had (according to rumors) to remove the digitizer on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 for slimming purposes. That would mean a new way of registering stylus input on the display would have been needed. So a new S Pen would also need to be produced. Samsung's Fold phones have supported the S Pen for a couple of years already. Unlike the Galaxy S Ultra models, the S Pen doesn't have a dedicated slot in the foldable phone and it doesn't ship in the phone's box. People wanting to use the S Pen with the Fold need to purchase the stylus separately, and if they want to carry it around with the phone all the time, they need a special case for it. Fortunately, though, Samsung's next Unpacked event is now getting closer than ever, likely to happen on July 9 in New York City, according to prominent and reputable leaker Evan Blass. So, as you can see, we don't have to wait for too long to find out the Galaxy Z Fold 7 's S Pen situation. So far, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has leaked almost entirely ahead of its official unveiling. Recently, a dummy hands-on video showed what could very well be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 next to its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 seems to be noticeably slimmer (just 9mm folded in comparison to 12mm on its predecessor) and looks way more modern, making the Fold 6 look, well, ancient. The phone also recently leaked in fresh renders and may ditch the under-display camera. Samsung's almighty flagship foldable may rock the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which is the chip currently in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely be introduced alongside its clamshell sibling, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and a couple of new Galaxy Watch models: the Galaxy Watch 8 series. All in all, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may come with plenty of little improvements here and there, but nothing exceptional is expected this year, apart from maybe the thin design that Samsung itself teased. Galaxy S27 Ultra may get this disappointing downgrade — what we know
At this point, we haven't heard a lot about what Samsung has planned beyond the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 later this summer. Despite that, and the fact the 2026 flagship is still a mystery, we just heard a pretty significant rumor about the Galaxy S27 Ultra — and it sounds controversial. According to claims made by leaker Setsuna Digital, Samsung could be considering scrapping the built-in S-Pen on the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The leaker claims that this would see Samsung go back to the external S Pen, like we've seen with Z Fold devices and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It's unclear why Samsung might abandon the built-in S Pen, especially since external options have been less than impressive. Setsuna Digital remarks that the S21 Ultra's S Pen case wasn't aesthetically pleasing, but a newer version could be a good option if done correctly. More so if Samsung gives Ultra users an S Pen case, rather than making them purchase it separately. There are two main reasons why Samsung might decide to remove the built-in S Pen. The first is, of course, cost. Galaxy S Ultra phones are already very expensive, and they're not getting any cheaper. Stripping out the S Pen and selling it as a standalone accessory gives Samsung the opportunity to cut some costs and keep the price static without making additional losses, which no business is happy about doing. Removing the stylus also frees up internal space within the phone — even if the standalone S Pen is included with the phone. Without the S Pen taking up space, it gives Samsung more freedom to reconfigure the S27 Ultra's internals. This could allow Samsung to add bigger batteries, newer hardware or simply to try and make the phone a little big thicker. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is still going to be in the early stages of development, so there's no guarantee that the built-in S Pen will be getting removed. Setsuna Digital says that it's something Samsung is considering, and seeing as how the hardware won't be locked in for a while, things can and will change over the next several months. However the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may not be so lucky, with the leaker claiming the S Pen has been canceled for the foldable — for reasons unknown. According to a separate leak from PandaFlashX, Samsung has canceled an "unknown S Pen" that was designed to work without a digitizer in the display. They're unsure which phone this applies to, but the Z Fold 7 may make the most sense. The phone is allegedly based on the Galaxy Z Fold SE that was released last year, and that phone lacked the digitizer layer that enabled S Pen functionality in foldable screens. All in the name of reducing thickness, apparently. Then again the Z Fold 7 is rumored to have a titanium hinge plate, for the specific reason that the metal isn't supposed to interfere with the digitizer layer. So it's not clear which rumors are accurate right now. We won't find out for sure until Galaxy Unpacked, which is rumored to be happening on July 9. As for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, we're going to have to wait even longer before we even get a hint of what might be happening.
