H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call on 20 June 2025 from H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Espen Barth Eide. During the phone call, they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them. They also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the Israeli attack on the territory of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran. In this context, H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's condemnation of the repeated Israeli violations and attacks in the region, which undermine peace efforts and threaten to drag the region into a regional war. His Excellency emphasized the seriousness of Israel targeting economic facilities in Iran, warning of its disastrous regional and international repercussions, particularly for the stability of energy supplies. He also stressed the need to spare civilians the consequences of war and the commitment of both parties not to target civilian facilities. H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for coordinated regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through diplomatic means, affirming that the State of Qatar is actively working, in close cooperation with its partners, to revive dialogue among all parties in order to address outstanding issues and to promote regional as well as international peace and security.

NBA superstar Kevin Durant joins Qatar Sports Investments, becomes PSG minority shareholder

Qatar Sports Investments, the majority owner of European Champions Paris Saint-Germain, has signed an investment and strategic partnership agreement with Kevin Durant, one of the most decorated US basketball players of all time and a leading investor in sports and entertainment properties. The deal will see Durant – via his media and investment arm Boardroom, with entrepreneur and long-time business partner Rich Kleiman – acquire a direct minority stake in the Club. In August 2024, Durant – the two-time NBA Champion, four-time Olympic gold medalist, MVP, and fifteen-time NBA All-Star – partnered with Paris Saint-Germain through Arctos Partners, a minority shareholder in the Club. Earlier this week, Qatar Sports Investments and Boardroom Sports Holdings – Durant's personal investment vehicle which holds stakes in a range of leading sports teams and leagues – signed a share purchase and strategic partnership agreement whereby Durant has become a direct minority shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain. As part of the relationship, Boardroom and Qatar Sports Investments will partner on a wide-series of commercial, investment, and content initiatives; and Durant will support the Club on its continued sports and business diversification and growth – including co-developing merchandise and original media content; advising on the Club's US and other international markets strategy; supporting PSG for Communities (the Club's charitable foundation and fundraising arm); and consulting on Paris Saint-Germain's multi-sport strategy including potential plans in basketball. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Qatar Sports Investments said, 'QSI is pleased to welcome Kevin Durant as a direct shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain and strategic partner of our Group. We continually seek to elevate the Club and our broader portfolio through high-impact partnerships that bring strategic value, innovation, and global perspective. Together with Kevin, we look forward to developing ambitious initiatives that will drive the continued global growth of Paris Saint-Germain and QSI.' Kevin Durant said, 'It is an honour to partner with QSI and be a shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain – a Club and a city that is so close to my heart. This club has big plans ahead, and I can't wait to be a part of the next phase of growth; and to explore new investment opportunities with QSI.'

Here are some of the top trend finds for summer wedding dresses at Doha Festival City

There's something truly magical about summer weddings in Qatar and the Middle East. From golden desert sunsets to the shimmer of city lights, the season brings not only the promise of love, but the dazzle of couture, culture, and celebration. Here, weddings are more than ceremonies, they're grand occasions rooted in tradition yet infused in modern elegance, where fashion becomes a language of joy and identity. And the numbers speak for themselves: according to Global Growth Insights, the global wedding wear market was valued at an astounding USD 60.18 billion in 2024, projected to soar to USD 103.09 billion by 2033. Notably, the Middle East and Africa contribute around 13% of global demand, a clear sign of the region's dynamic taste and rising appetite for luxe bridal and eveningwear. In Doha, summer weddings are vibrant, unforgettable occasions, with bridal and eveningwear that beautifully reflects both heritage and trend. Inspired by Vogue and Harper's Bazaar Summer 2025 colour reports — featuring powder pink, butter yellow, icy blue, and soft pastels — this season celebrates dreamy palettes and delicate detail. Think structured drapes, flowing silks, corsets, and capes that blend contemporary sophistication with timeless romance. At Doha Festival City, these trends come to life across a stunning lineup of boutiques, each just a short stroll from the VIP entrance on the ground floor. Whether you're the bride, a guest, or simply inspired by wedding glamour, here's a look at the standout styles you'll find this season. 1. Prime London: A Sculptural Love Story Blending couture elegance with modern flair, Prime London's Spring/Summer 2025 collection is nothing short of art in motion. Imagine gowns sculpted with architectural lines yet softened by fluid drapes — where three-dimensional florals dance over soft blush, mint, and champagne palettes. Each piece is designed for the woman who moves with strength and grace. The bridal collection is a celebration of tradition reimagined, timeless ivory silhouettes layered with hand-embellished capes, embroidered tulles, and fluid silks. Whether you prefer a voluminous ball gown or a sleek, form-fitting design, Prime London offers a masterpiece for every bride, especially those seeking statement looks loved by brides from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. 2. BIZE: Fairytale Meets Fashion At BIZE, romance is reinvented. This season brings a dreamscape of pastels, powder pinks, and icy blues, graced with corsetry and elegant pleats. Gowns shimmer with sequins or whisper in flowing, ethereal fabrics, perfect for making an entrance. You'll find striking contrasts, too: deep greens and midnight purples for mature elegance, and vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds that playfully capture youthful joy. Modest wear is beautifully handled with discreet yet radiant embellishments, proving you don't have to sacrifice sparkle for sophistication. 3. Serpil: Softness in Full Bloom Serpil's designs bring a delicate touch to summer weddings, offering satin baby pinks, gentle mauves, and beige hues that flatter in Doha's sun-kissed light. Corseted bodices meet soft, flowing skirts, while sequined florals add subtle drama to an otherwise minimalist palette. From form-hugging gowns adorned with intricate textures to airy silhouettes with wavy hems, Serpil speaks to the romantic in every woman. These are dresses made for summer celebrations — light, beautiful, and unapologetically feminine. 4. Verona: Veiled Elegance and Draped Dreams If you're drawn to dresses that speak in whispers of vintage glamour and modern refinement, Verona is your destination. This boutique dazzles with butter yellows, peach tones, and icy blues, and even purples and reds, offering both bold and muted hues for every kind of wedding moment. Signature looks include corseted gowns with scarves, mesh overlays that float like veils, and twisted drapes that flatter the midriff. Embellished with feathers, sequins, and delicate folds, Verona's dresses blur the line between contemporary style and bridal fantasy, ideal for both the bride and the distinguished guest. 5. Cengiz Akturk: The Drama of Detail For the woman who loves to make a statement, Cengiz Akturk delivers unapologetic glamour. Whether you choose a regal mauve piece with a matching cape or a figure-hugging number with a daring slit, these designs promise to leave a lasting impression on any guest list. And of course, no bridal or evening look is complete without accessories that elevate the entire ensemble. This season, the mall also showcases a dazzling array of jewellery brands to complete every bridal and evening ensemble. The Ministry of Municipality today inaugurated Dahl Al Hamam Park, one of the public parks under the jurisdiction of Doha Municipality, following the completion of its full renovation and redevelopment in coordination with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), in accordance with the highest standards. The reopening of the park follows a comprehensive redevelopment aimed at strengthening green infrastructure and enhancing service and recreational facilities. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Municipality's 2024-2030 strategy and aligns with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, which seeks to expand green spaces, improve quality of life, and provide a sustainable and healthy environment for citizens and residents.
