Israel strikes Hezbollah command site in southern Lebanon
Shafaq News/ Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, including a targeted strike on a command center in Naqoura. Tensions have intensified over the past 48 hours, with Israel significantly expanding its military operations in Lebanese territory. The escalation comes amid broader regional tensions following the outbreak of direct hostilities between Israel and Iran. In response to the mounting conflict, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem declared late Thursday the group's alignment with Tehran. 'Hezbollah is not neutral when it comes to Iran's legitimate rights and independence versus the injustice of the US, its aggression, and the cancerous entity—Israel,' Qassem said. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz responded by warning Qassem directly, stating that he 'has not learned from the fate of his predecessors,' and that Hezbollah 'should tread carefully' in its actions moving forward.

Israel kills three within 24 hours in Southern Lebanon
Shafaq News/ A Lebanese citizen was killed on Thursday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a Rapid vehicle in the border town of Houla, the Lebanese Health Ministry announced. Earlier, two individuals were killed in a separate Israeli strike that hit a motorcycle in the town of Kfarjouz in the Nabatieh region, southern Lebanon. The agreement outlined a phased Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory within 60 days. That deadline was later extended to February 18, 2025, but implementation has seen minimal progress. Lebanese authorities reported that Israel has carried out nearly 3,000 violations of the ceasefire since it took effect. At least 215 people have been killed and more than 500 wounded during this period, according to official figures.

Israeli army claims targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in South Lebanon
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed on Thursday that the Israeli military struck Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon on Wednesday evening. Israeli army claims Hezbollah is rebuilding secret weapons site in Beirut's southern suburbs
The Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed in a post on his X account that ''Hezbollah has been attempting to rebuild a secret underground weapons production site in Chouaifet in Beirut's southern suburbs.'' The facility, reportedly located near a school and beneath residential buildings, was previously targeted in November 2024. Adraee stated: "During the surprise inspection, engineering equipment disappeared from the site. Only after the inspection ended did the machinery return to operation, which is a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement." The Israeli army said that this activity represents a severe breach of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon under the ceasefire agreement. Adraee added, "This dangerous attempt to hide the operation from the monitoring mechanism is part of Hezbollah's ongoing efforts to conceal its military activities, undermining the security and stability of the region." The spokesperson further stated ''its commitment to ensuring the continuation of the ceasefire agreements and pledged to take all necessary steps to neutralize any threats to Israel's security.'' Israel claims deadly strike on senior Hezbollah commander
Shafaq News/ On Thursday, Israel claimed responsibility for a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon that killed several people, including a senior Hezbollah commander. Lebanese authorities confirmed multiple Israeli attacks across the south. An airstrike on a vehicle in Yohmor al-Shaqif, Nabatieh District, killed three civilians. Another strike in al-Dabash neighborhood, accompanied by artillery fire, caused no casualties. On Wednesday, Lebanon's Health Ministry reported that a drone strike on the Maaroub–Dardghaya road in Tyre District killed one civilian. The escalation follows a US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, in place since November 27. Lebanese officials say Israel has violated the truce more than 1,500 times, including targeted killings and strikes across southern, northern, and eastern Lebanon, while continuing to occupy five disputed positions.
