As an AI entrepreneur, will.i.am says data privacy and training the next generation should be prioritized

Musician and founder of the platform spoke during Business Insider's CMO Insider breakfast at Cannes. He discussed everything from AI to data privacy. This article is part of " CMO Insider," a series on marketing leadership and innovation. Musician, producer, and entrepreneur compared AI to early video games during a discussion at Business Insider's CMO Insider breakfast at Cannes on Tuesday. "AI is in its infancy," he said. "It's Pac-Man; it ain't even Halo yet." Now a founder of the platform , was interviewed by Jamie Heller, the editor in chief of Business Insider, at the event, which had BCG as its founding sponsor. Early video games, said, required a level of imagination from the player in the absence of sophisticated graphics and a real story. This same level of imagination is needed from "the people that love AI, the folks whose imagination is doing the work as you're training it or it's learning from your imagination," he said. He said AI will not stifle creativity, but provide room to enhance it. While AI may be in its early stages, its potential impact over the next few years is undeniable. One area that will need to adjust to make way for AI is higher education. That is why, said, recently partnered with Arizona State University to provide technology to help enhance the learning experience and prepare students for the reality that awaits them upon graduation at the end of the decade. "When you go out into the world, you're not just competing with humans," he said of these students. Rather, there's an "onslaught of agents" that are replacing the jobs that students are going to school for, and there's no one trying to offset how they compete with them, he said. He said working with is going to provide a path so that students will make an agent of their own; when they graduate, so will their agent. "Humans have to be able to compete with the marketplace, and that marketplace is going to be like ghost bots that are going to be doing amazing work," he added. Like-minded partners is currently working with brands like Formula 1, Mercedes, and Qualcomm. In looking for brands to work with, said that there has to be a sense of shared values. "If the values aren't aligned, that could be a problem," he said. "For example, it'll be hard for us to work with companies that have data privacy practices that don't really gel with how we want to move in this AI space." He added that he's fearful that AI could follow the same trajectory of many social media platforms, whose data practices have been "parasitic." "There have been lots of issues with data practices and lack of regulations and governance around it," he said. "So if that is to come into this new age we are stepping into with AI, it's not a good result."

EXCLUSIVE The Voice UK coach REVEALED after LeAnn Rimes quit as ITV hires US superstar with link to Beyoncé for new series

The Voice UK have recruited a former X Factor judge to become the show's latest superstar coach. MailOnline can reveal Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland, 44, has signed up to the long running ITV show in replacement of LeAnn Rimes, 42, who quit this year after just one season. The Grammy Award-winning singer, who starred in the girlband alongside Beyoncé and Michelle Williams, is 'thrilled' to be the programme's latest addition after previously serving as a judge on The X Factor UK in 2011, as well as The Voice Australia. Kelly joins longtime panelists 50, and Tom Jones, 84, and McFly co-stars Danny Jones, and Tom Fletcher, both 39, who are all returning to the show when auditions begin in the UK this summer. Singer Kelly has had previously experience on a UK judging panel when she appeared with Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos on The X Factor, and two years later established herself on the US version of the show with music boss Simon Cowell. Not only famed for global hits Say My Name, Survivor, and Independent Woman with Destiny's Child, Kelly also celebrates a successful solo career with singles Dilemma, Stole, and Work. A TV source told MailOnline: ' The Voice UK are so excited Kelly is joining the panel. 'She's an international superstar who knows how to spot talent with history on shows of this kind. 'Her experience is unmatched, and bosses are hoping she brings a new energy to the show which will be felt not only by the hopefuls auditioning but also the viewers watching at home. 'The coaching panel are really thrilled too, especially who thinks Kelly joining is the best thing to happen in years.' The Voice UK, presented by Emma Willis, has been running on ITV for over 13 years and has featured stars including Meghan Trainor, Olly Murs, Jessie J, and Anne-Marie on the panel. While the coaches have changed over the years, and Tom Jones have remained the show's longest serving judges, having been on the series since its beginning. It was revealed that LeAnn had left the show after one series last month to focus on her career in the US and appearances on the American version as a mentor alongside Sheryl Crow. McFly stars Danny and Tom will once again share a seat on the upcoming 14th series after their act Ava Mannings won the show last year. The Voice UK will be Danny's first TV gig since the fallout from his drunk BRIT Awards kiss with former Love Island star Maura Higgins. Danny and Maura were caught on film sharing an embrace at a music after party, which subsequently rocked the star's marriage to wife Georgia Horsley. The couple, who share son Cooper, haven't pictured each other on their social media pages since the incident but are believed to still be living together at their new London home. Bassist Danny, who joined The Voice UK in 2024, met Maura during his appearance on I'm A Celeb last year, which saw him crowned King of the Jungle. He apologised for any wrongdoing in a statement posted to Instagram saying he 'regretted' putting his family in such a position.

Not just Priyanka Chopra, here are 5 other, very successful actresses you probably forgot released their own music

While Priyanka Chopra's foray into music - complete with an international record deal and collaborations with the likes of Pitbull and - made plenty of headlines, she's far from being the only actress who has dabbled in the world of pop, soul or rock. Here are six other actresses you probably forgot once tried (or are still trying) their hand at music. Before or between starring in Marvel blockbusters and winning critical acclaim for her acting chops, Scarlett Johansson made a bold move into music. In 2008, she released Anywhere I Lay My Head, an album of Tom Waits covers that surprised critics with its dreamy, atmospheric tone. While not universally praised, the record stood out for its artistic ambition. She later formed a girl group called The Singles and even collaborated with Pete Yorn for a more indie-pop sound. Her voice - husky, distinctive and layered - offered a totally different side of the star many knew only from the screen. In recent times, you must have heard her rendition of some absolute classics from the animated films 'Sing' and 'Sing 2'. You may know her best as Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, but Leighton Meester was once making waves in the music scene too. She released singles like 'Somebody to Love' with Robin Thicke and 'Your Love's a Drug,' both of which showcased her pop sensibilities. In 2014, she pivoted to a more introspective, acoustic sound with her debut album 'Heartstrings'. The record, full of soft melodies and reflective lyrics, revealed a surprisingly sincere and singer-songwriter side of Meester. Long before she became Captain Marvel or won an Academy Award, Brie Larson was just another teenager chasing a pop career. In the early 2000s, she released an album called 'Finally Out of P.E.', full of Avril Lavigne-esque pop rock anthems. Though it wasn't a chart-topper, Larson's youthful angst and catchy hooks earned her a small but loyal following. Fun fact: she even toured with Jesse McCartney at one point. While her music career didn't skyrocket, it was a memorable chapter in her evolution as a performer. Kate Hudson's musical pursuits have flown largely under the radar - at least compared to her Golden Globe-nominated acting work - but they're no less interesting. In 2021, she surprised fans by announcing her debut single 'Talk About Love,' revealing a soulful, raspy voice that lent itself well to bluesy pop. Though not a full-time singer, Hudson has expressed a deep love for music, and her occasional performances (including on-screen musical numbers) reflect a passion that runs deeper than many realise. Before she was Rue in Euphoria or swinging across buildings in Spider-Man, Zendaya was building a career in music alongside her Disney Channel fame. Her self-titled debut album dropped in 2013 and included the hit single 'Replay,' which became a sleeper success and solidified her place as a promising pop-R&B act. While she's since focused primarily on acting, Zendaya has teased fans with musical collaborations and occasional performances that remind everyone she's still got those vocal chops. From smoky covers to teen pop to soul-infused ballads, these actresses prove that their talents extend far beyond the screen. And while not all of their musical ventures became chart-topping hits, they certainly make for an entertaining trivia trail of unexpected career moves.
