1 person seriously injured in Stoney Trail crash that shut down northbound traffic

Investigation is underway into a crash involving a motorcycle that took place just before 6 p.m. All lanes on northbound Stoney Trail and Country Hills Boulevard N.W., along with ramps leading to northbound Stoney Trail in that area are closed, police said. Traffic is being diverted onto Country Hills Boulevard as police investigate the cause of the crash. Police say to expect major delays, and to avoid the area if possible. CTV News has reached out to EMS for further details about the motorcyclist.

North Dakota woman killed in 4-vehicle crash near Twin Cities
A woman from North Dakota was killed and three other people were injured in a four-vehicle crash just outside the Twin Cities Wednesday evening. The crash happened on eastbound Interstate 94 in Monticello, Minnesota, around 7:20 p.m., according to the state patrol. All four vehicles were heading in the same direction when "a rear-end collision occurred," the patrol said. A passenger in one of the vehicles, 69-year-old Susan Rintoul of Minot, North Dakota, died at the scene. The patrol said she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of her vehicle and two other drivers suffered survivable injuries and were hospitalized for treatment. The fourth driver was unhurt.

Highway 17 reopens near Nairn Centre after crash
Highway 17 west of Sudbury was closed after a two-vehicle crash near Worthington, sending one to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A vehicle collision forced the closure of Highway 17 near Nairn Centre, Ontario Provincial Police said on social media Friday. OPP reported the closure of the roadway between both entrances of Lorne Falls Road just before 7:30 p.m., advising that emergency services were on scene. Sudbury Fire officials told CTV News that the crash happened before 7 p.m. Emergency responders took one person to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No detour was listed by police or the province's traveller information service while the road was close. The highway reopened at about 10:40 p.m., according to Ontario 511, with OPP confirming the roadway was open at 11:43 p.m. Police have not released any details on the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved or if any charges are pending. CTV News has reached out to OPP for more information but has not yet heard back. Check back to for updates on this developing story.

Crash flips taxi on its roof in San Francisco
(KRON) — A Friday morning vehicle collision flipped a Flywheel taxi on its roof in San Francisco. Man keyed several cars, fled in vehicle with no plates: Walnut Creek PD The San Francisco Police Department said its officers responded to the incident at 10:28 a.m. in the area of Fell Street and Van Ness Avenue. SFPD located the driver of the vehicle along with three passengers at the scene, and provided treatment until medics arrived. At this time, San Francisco PD do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. UAE: 9 injured in 20-vehicle collision in Fujairah involving cars, trucks
Nine people suffered minor to moderate injuries following a multiple vehicle collision on the road leading from Waib Al Hannah to Dibba Al Fujairah, Fujairah Police said on Wednesday. The accident involved 16 vehicles and four trucks resulting in a complete closure of the road for traffic. Upon receiving the report, Dibba Al Fujairah Police patrols, supported by the Traffic and Patrols Department, patrols from the Masafi Comprehensive Police Station, and National Ambulance teams, headed to the accident site. They immediately dealt with the situation, provided the necessary support to the injured, organised traffic, and reopened the road to drivers. Emergency response teams from Dibba Al Fujairah Police, the Traffic and Patrols Department, Masafi Comprehensive Police Station, and National Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene. Authorities worked swiftly to assist the injured, manage the flow of traffic, and clear the site, eventually reopening the road to motorists. The accident resulted in 8 minor injuries and one moderate injury. All the injured were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment and medical care.
