Man found dead in Petaluma; investigation underway
The Brief The man was found unresponsive beside a parked car near Grouse Lane and Quail Drive. The manner of his death was not known, though Petaluma police said there were no signs of foul play. PETALUMA, Calif. - A man was found dead in Petaluma on Saturday, and police are investigating the circumstances of his death. Petaluma Police Department officers were called just before 6:35 a.m. to the area of Grouse Lane and Quail Drive, near La Tercera Park, on reports of an unresponsive person down next to a parked car and found the man lying in the street, according to a department statement. Petaluma Fire Department units pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin. PPD detectives were called to the scene to investigate the man's death, during which Grouse Lane between Quail Drive and Ivy Lane was temporarily blocked to traffic. Investigators have yet to determine a cause of the man's death, though the police department noted his death "was not suspicious" and "there were no obvious signs of foul play." Woman in wetsuit found unresponsive on Hilton Head Island. Investigation underway
A 50-year old woman was found unresponsive on Hilton Head Island early Sunday morning, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded to Collier Beach Road — near Coco's on The Beach — just before 1 a.m. to find a woman in the surf, still wearing a wetsuit with a boogie board attached to her ankle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. The death 'does not appear to be suspicious' at this time, according to a press release. The Beaufort County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy on the woman to determine the cause of death. HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) — Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) deputies were called to a report of an unresponsive woman in the surf at Collier Beach Road on Hilton Head Island Sunday afternoon. The 50-year-old woman was wearing a wetsuit and had a boogie board attached to her ankle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Beaufort County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The woman's identity will be released once her family is notified. An investigation into the death is currently underway, although it doesn't appear suspicious at this time. Truck driver dies after hitting parked car in Putāruru, Waikato
The driver was unresponsive when emergency services arrived at the scene. Photo: ST JOHN NZ A person has died after a truck hit a parked car in the rural Waikato town Putāruru this morning. Police said they were called to the crash on State Highway 1 near the intersection with Sholson Street just after 7am Friday. "The truck driver was unresponsive when emergency services arrived at the crash scene," a police spokesperson said. "Medical attention was immediately provided but sadly he could not be revived." The road remains partially closed and motorists should continue to take alternative routes where possible.

Police offer new details in wild chase, crash that shut major London, Ontario street
A man became 'unresponsive' following a wild police chase that started north of London and ended in a busy part of the city's Masonville neighbourhood, Ontario Provincial Police say. Article content It was about 9 p.m. Saturday when Middlesex OPP began pursuing a driver from Butler Street in Lucan-Biddulph, police said, following a disturbance there. Two cruisers were struck, police said, adding the chase continued to Richmond Street near Masonville mall. Article content On Sunday, the police probe focused on a car that appeared to have collided with an OPP cruiser on Richmond Street near Jacksway Crescent. The street was shut down throughout the day for the investigation, which involves Ontario's police watchdog. Article content Article content 'During the interaction with police, the male became unresponsive. Officers administered first aid and the male was transported to a local hospital,' Middlesex OPP said in a Sunday statement that didn't detail his condition. Article content One neighbourhood resident told The Free Press they saw the driver of the car hit with a police Taser and then taken away in an ambulance. 'He was shouting, screaming and police told the man to get on the ground, to not move and they Tasered him,' Ahmed Mazed said, referencing the brand name of a stun gun used by police to avoid firing bullets. Article content 'We were surprised. This is usually a quiet area. Nothing happens.' Article content The provincial police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit, investigates all cases of serious injury, death, gunfire and allegations of sexual assault involving police. A damaged Ford Fusion on the boulevard on the west side of Richmond Street appeared to have been boxed in by an OPP cruiser that was also damaged.
