Police say the trooper was on patrol when a radar speed gun detected a motorist driving a car at 103 mph. The trooper stopped the car on Trumbull Street. The driver, later identified as the woman, was "hysterical" when the trooper approached, according to MSP. During the stop, the trooper discovered the woman, from Detroit, had been shot in the foot. The trooper provided first aid to the woman before she was taken to the hospital, officials said. According to MSP, the shooting took place in Dearborn and involved a family member. The trooper relayed all the information he had to the Dearborn Police Department, and later went to the hospital to check on the woman. It's unknown whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. "What started as a speeding violation ended with the trooper treating a gunshot wound and investigating a shooting," MSP Lt. Mike Shaw said in a post on X Saturday. "Great work by this trooper in calming down the driver and making sure she got the care she needed."

19-year-old in ‘mom's car' charged after driving while suspended on Hwy. 401
OPP impounded this vehicle after it was found its 19-year-old driver was driving suspended. (OPP/X) A teenager will have some explaining to do after his mom's car was impounded following a traffic stop Saturday. Ontario Provincial Police say the 19-year-old with a G2 licence from Pickering was stopped in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Quinte West. 'The officer discovered that the individual's licence had been suspended for accumulated driving offence points,' OPP said in a social media post. The driver was charged with driving while suspended, speeding and for failing to surrender his vehicle permit. The car will be impounded for seven days, police say.

Shedeur Sanders is a household name in the football world, but at least one cop in Ohio couldn't recognize him earlier this month ... as new police video, obtained by TMZ Sports, shows an officer initially had no idea he was performing a traffic stop on Deion's son. Check out the footage -- after cops pulled over Sanders in Medina County, Ohio, for allegedly going 91 MPH in a 65 zone ... the NFL quarterback handed over an out-of-state ID that perplexed one of the troopers who was interrogating him. Despite apparently realizing Sanders' fame ... the cop still wrote the Cleveland Browns rookie a citation for speeding. Records show the signal-caller then failed to appear at a court hearing for the matter on June 16. A day later -- on June 17 -- Sanders was busted for speeding in Ohio once again. According to Strongsville Police Dept. records we obtained, cops pulled the 23-year-old over for allegedly going 101 in a 60. Shedeur Sanders Busted for Speeding, Allegedly Drove 101 MPH on Highway Police video from that stop shows the responding officers did recognize him as a former college football star ... but he was nonetheless issued another citation and given a July 3 court date. Advertisement A Browns spokesperson told this week Sanders "is taking care of the tickets." For Sanders' part, he appears to be unbothered by the incidents ... as he laughed them off when they were brought up during a charity softball event on Thursday.

Unlicensed driver accused of driving more than 90 mph on I-84, taking off from trooper
A Hartford man is accused of driving more than 90 mph and taking off from a state trooper who tried to pull him over on Interstate 84 in East Hartford last weekend. The driver was seen on I-84 East prior to Exit 58 just before 11 p.m. allegedly driving erratically in a red Hyundai Elantra going across all three lanes, according to Connecticut State Police. A trooper allegedly clocked his speed at more than 90 mph and initiated a traffic stop, state police said. The driver did not stop and took Exit 58 onto Roberts Street, according to state police. As he approached the intersection of Brookside Lane, the Hyundai driver nearly collided with other vehicles, state police said. The trooper abandoned the traffic stop but was able to get the vehicle's license plate information. Upon going to the registered owner's home in Manchester, the trooper spoke to a family member who said the owner was not home but was unlikely to have been the person who fled from police. The family member put police in touch with the owner by phone and they agreed to meet with investigators. State police said it was discovered that the owner was not driving the Hyundai during the incident. Just before 12:20 a.m., the owner arrived at the Troop H barracks with a man identified as 24-year-old Ryan Williams of Hartford. State police claimed that Williams admitted to driving the Hyundai. It was also found that he did not have a driver's license. Williams was arrested on charges of reckless driving, disobeying signal of an officer, engaging police in pursuit, improper passing/unsafe distance/cutting in, failure to drive in proper lane on a limited access highway, operating a motor vehicle without a license and interfering with an officer/resisting. He was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 11.
