Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham Set to Star in Apple TV+ Series Based on Lars Kepler Novels — GeekTyrant
Apple and A&E Studios are working on an untitled series based on the Lars Kepler novels, starring Liev Schreiber ( The Perfect Couple , Ray Donovan ), Zazie Beetz ( Atlanta , Deadpool 2 ), and Stephen Graham ( Adolescence , Boardwalk Empire ). Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin will co-showrun the project and executive produce alongside Tim Van Patten, who will direct the first two episodes. The project tells the story of Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who, tired of working the tough streets of Philadelphia, moves to a small town in Western Pennsylvania for a quiet life. But, as the town and his family come under attack from the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter (Graham), Jonah must protect all that he holds dear. When the desperate search for Jurek's last missing victim forces Jonah to send his adopted daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz), up against Jurek, how far will Jonah go? Lars Kepler is a pseudonym for writing partners Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. Kepler is a bestselling thriller author with 10 published crime novels, which have sold 18 million copies globally. The book series is translated into 40 languages and distributed in over 170 territories. Filming is set to begin this summer in Pittsburgh. via: Deadline

Last week, it was revealed that the upcoming Warner Bros. HBO series based on the Harry Potter book series had found its young lead actors. It was announced that Dominic McLaughlin will take up the iconic round glasses and lightning scar as Harry Potter; Arabella Stanton steps into the brilliant, bold shoes of Hermione Granger; and Alastair Stout rounds out the trio as Ron Weasley. While these three kids are new to us now, they will likely become household names as the show continues, just as the actors who took on the roles in the films. But because they are newcomers, we don't have anything to verify that they are good for the role yet, aside from the fact that they were chosen from tons of others in a very selective process. It's a wait and see situation, for the most part, with one exception. A new clip has surfaced on Reddit, which shows actress Arabella Stanton in a scene from her acting class, which has Hermione Granger written all over it. ‘Robert Langdon' Adaptation Set at Netflix From ‘Lost' EP Carlton Cuse and Mystery Novelist Dan Brown
Netflix has ordered a series adaptation of 'The Secret of Secrets,' the upcoming sixth installation in novelist Dan Brown's 'Robert Langon' mystery series. Brown serves as co-creator of the series alongside Carlton Cuse, who will be the showrunner. Per the official logline for the currently untitled series, 'In Dan Brown's upcoming thrilling new novel, symbologist Robert Langdon races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity's understanding of the mind. The series adaptation will blend futuristic science with mystical lore, delivering on the heart-pounding suspense and international intrigue that has made the Langdon stories a global phenomenon.' Of them, three have been adapted into films, most notably 'The Da Vinci Code' in 2006 followed by 'Angels & Demons' in 2009 and 'Inferno' in 2016. All were directed by Ron Howard and produced by Columbia Pictures, grossing more than $2.2 billion total. 'The Secret of Secrets' will be published on Sept. 9 via Doubleday.
