New THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Images of Silver Surfer, Human Torch, and Mr. Fantastic — GeekTyrant
Marvel has released a collection of new still from The Fantastic Four: First Steps , and they feature Silver Surfer, the Human Torch in fiery flight mode, along with Reed and Sue. This movie is so close to bring released, and I've already got my tickets to see it! As a fan of The Fantastic Four, I'm excited to see what Marvel's plans are for them. I can't wait to see how the story for this film turns out, and I hope that it's the great movie that we all hope it will be. 'Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing—as they face their most daunting challenge yet. 'Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus' plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren't bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.' Directed by WandaVision 's Matt Shakman, the film boasts a high-profile cast led by Pedro Pascal (Reed), Vanessa Kirby (Sue), Joseph Quinn (Johnny), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben), with a supporting lineup that includes John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Sarah Niles in yet-to-be-revealed roles. The script was originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, it was revised by Cameron Squires and Avatar: The Way of Water co-writer Josh Friedman, with Eric Pearson ( Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow ) giving it the final pass. ‘This was peak technology': Gen Z is bringing back the BlackBerry
It's 2009. Everyone is rocking ankle socks. 'TikTok,' is just a Ke$ha song. You pull out your BlackBerry Bold 9700 and update your BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) status. All is well. Before the iPhone, the BlackBerry was the 'it' phone. At its peak in the early 2000s, BlackBerry commanded over 50% of the U.S. and 20% of the global smartphone market. But times changed. Physical keyboards gave way to touchscreens, and eventually, BlackBerry discontinued support for its classic phones in 2022. But this isn't where the story ends. The 2000s have since made a comeback. As The New York Times recently reported, 'Everything Millennial Is Cool Again.' Adding to that list, I'm happy to report, is the humble BlackBerry. 'Getting a blackberry bold just because,' one TikTok user posted, holding up a BlackBerry Bold they purchased on eBay for $40. 'This is a sentence I never thought I would say, especially not in 2025,' another wrote, unboxing a second-hand BlackBerry Bold 9900. Reddit user u/coldheartedsigma shared a since-deleted post to the r/BlackBerry subreddit but kept most of the details vague, citing an NDA. While some were skeptical, others couldn't contain their excitement. 'Please be real,' one wrote. 'Color me interested if this ever actually materializes,' another added. Whether or not the rumors pan out, Gen Z is bringing back the BlackBerry either way—even if it's just to take a break from scrolling TikTok to play BrickBreaker.

iOS 26 is giving me serious Windows Vista vibes
Alright, iOS 26 is out with a brand-new design that is just as breathtaking as it is... Windows Vista. And once you see it, you cannot unsee it. I honestly don't know how to feel about this. On one hand, this new Liquid Glass design is decidedly cool and... skeuomorphic in its own liquid glassy way, but on the other hand, it looks really, well, very retro. This retro style is particularly visible when you turn on the all-new Clear Look where all your icons turn transparent in one giant madness of glass-y glass on your home screen. Reactions on social media are also spot on: And this comment about readability and accessibility going down the drain with iOS 26 also rings true. Aside from the funny part of history repeating itself in curious ways, there is undeniably the cool and "lickable" part of Liquid Glass design that is also undeniably there. And of course, there are the reminders how all of the Android competition will have this in... two or three years maybe? Alright, time for your take on iOS 26 . I'm loving how fast and furious Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is
When I think about the 2D action games I loved growing up, 'fast' isn't a word that usually comes to mind. Something like a Ninja Turtles side scrolling beat-em-up looks a little slow in my mind, filled with heavy one on one punch outs. The exact pace changes from game to game, but it's not usually what I'd call quick. So I was in for a bit of a shock when I booted up a demo of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance at Summer Game Fest. Sega's new revival may call back to some of the retro games I played as a kid, but it leaves them all in the dust in its constant blitz of sword slashing. Developed by Lizardcube, the studio behind the terrific Streets of Rage 4, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance looks to take a classic Sega series back to its roots. It's a side scrolling action game where I need to slash through enemies, vanquish bosses, and do a bit of platforming for good measure. My 45-minute demo let me run wild through two of its gorgeously animated levels, getting a feel for the balance Lizardcube is striking here between retro and modern. When I try to describe it on paper, it might sound a little boilerplate. The platforming has me double jumping and air dashing around 2D environments. Combat is a matter of dishing out sword combos, hitting evasive rolls, tossing out a shuriken or two, and spending energy to activate special skills. It's all par for the course, I know, but those familiar ideas are made thrilling once I start to realize just how quickly I can take out a screen full of enemies. Recommended Videos Art of Vengeance is designed in such a way that I never felt like I needed to stop moving during a fight. If an enemy tries to attack me during a combo, I can hit my evasive dodge and exit it into a new combo. If I need to jump in the air to avoid an unblockable attack, I can come back down with a dive kick by hitting my heavy attack button and chain into a combo from there. My favorite detail comes anytime I stun an enemy. When a red mark appears above a foe, I can press both bumpers to launching into a finishing strike that will also ricochet through every other stunned enemy in the room. The more I get all of this down, the more I realize that I simply never have to stop moving once I get on a roll. It feels as much like a fighting game as it does a side scroller. That sense of lethal speed goes a long way towards making Art of Vengeance feel more exciting than a lot of recent retro brawlers that are very similar to it on paper. It aims to make Shinobi feel like a phantom that cut through waves of enemies in the blink of an eye. Even when I'm dropped into familiar scenarios, like when I need to stay on a boat as enemies fall in around me, it feels like I'm playing something entirely new rather than another cookie cutter retro cash-in. I'm eager to see how much deeper it all goes. My demo only gave me a taste of its exploration, as I could occasionally find platforming challenges that led me to hidden collectibles. Each level has five to find and those can be spent at shops to unlock even more maneuvers, like one that extended my combos even further with additional hits. I had tons of moves to work into my attack strings by the end of the second level I played, including a charged punch and a counter stance skill. I hope more moves keep trickling in in later missions, giving me more attacks I can pepper into my ballet of blades. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance launches on August 28 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The Mustang's New Appearance Pack Is a 1980s Fever Dream
Ford has found inspiration in its past for a new appearance package that launches with the 2026 Mustang . It's called the FX Pack, and it adds a handful of retro-inspired styling cues straight out of the 1980s to the seventh-generation Mustang. The FX combines Adriatic Blue Metallic, a new color inspired by the teal available on the third-generation Mustang, and white accents, including the wheels. There are two new rim designs, both finished in Oxford White. Photo by: Ford Photo by: Ford The pack's standard wheel is a new version of the car's 19-inch, five-spoke option, which was already available for 2025. The other wheel is offered with the Performance Pack and has a retro design that would look perfect on an original Fox Body . The wheels have white center caps that feature a new FX-specific font inspired by the wordmark found on the 1987-1993 Mustangs. White accents also wrap around the 5.0-liter and GT badges, while Ford puts an all-white pony in the center of the glass-black grille. Performance Pack cars will also have Oxford White Nostrils, while non-Performance Mustangs will feature Dark Carbonized Gray examples. FX Mustangs will also come with white taillights that look striking against the new blue color. Photo by: Ford Inside, Ford continues the 80s vibe with unique perforated leather inserts, incorporating black and white elements that mimic the plaid seats found in Mustangs from that era, playing a great trick on the eyes. Best of all, the inserts are available on the standard buckets and the optional Recaro seats. Ford uses City Silver and Adriatic Blue stitching throughout the cabin, including the doors, dash, seats, and steering wheel. There's even a Mustang GT badge on the dash in the FX-specific font. Photo by: Ford Photo by: Ford Also new for the upcoming model year are new seatbelt color options: International Orange, Prime Blue, and Black with a red stripe. They're available across the Mustang lineup, along with the Adriatic Blue Metallic and Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat, which was last available for 2019. The white taillights will be available in the Ford Performance Parts catalog, allowing any seventh-gen Mustang owner to add them to their car. Customers will be able to get the FX Package on the GT Premium trim with or without the Performance Package in any body style, with either transmission option. The order books for the 2026 Mustang will open later this month.
