Land of the Lost Reboot in the Works at Netflix
It appears that Marshall, Will and Holly will once again be embarking on a routine expedition that instead leads them to the la-annnnd of the lo-o-o-ossst! Netflix in partnership with Legendary TV is in the 'very early stages' of developing a reboot of the cheese-tastic 1970s cult classic Land of the Lost, Deadline and others are reporting. Neither Netflix nor Legendary are commenting on the trade reports. Land of the Lost, produced by '70s TV staples Sid and Marty Krofft, starred Spencer Milligan as Rick Marshall, who during a routine rafting expedition was transported via waterfall/time portal back to prehistoric times along with his son Will (Wesley Eure) and daughter Holly (Kathy Coleman). There, the family of three contended with dinosaurs, hissing lizard men known as Sleestak, and ape-like primates called Pakuni — including one named Cha-Ka (Phillip Paley), who befriended the Marshalls and eventually learned to speak English. Milligan left the series after two seasons after demanding that he and the cast be compensated for the show's various merchandising endeavors, including lunch boxes, coloring books and board games. He was replaced by Ron Harper, who played Will and Holly's uncle Jack in the third and final season. (Harper and Milligan both passed away in spring 2024.) A 2009 film comedy version of Land of the Lost starred Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Anna Friel and Jorma Taccone. Best of TVLine 'Missing' Shows, Found! Has Carrie Bradshaw lost her fashion magic?
I couldn't help but wonder: Has 'Sex and the City' lost its fashion sense? The third season of the HBO Max reboot of 'Sex and the City' — titled 'And Just Like That' after one of longtime sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw's favorite hackneyed transitions — is decidedly undelightful. There is unsexy phone sex. Meager tourist nun and dog park drama subplots. One episode is dedicated almost entirely to misinterpreted text emojis about a dining room table.

Netflix Dives Into Prehistoric Mayhem With a New LAND OF THE LOST Reboot — GeekTyrant
Looks like Netflix is headed into dinosaur territory again as Land of the Lost is officially getting a reboot. According to Variety, the series is in early development, with no writer currently attached. Original series creators Sid and Marty Krofft are back on board as executive producers, with Deanna Krofft Pope also producing. Legendary Television will handle production duties. The reboot marks yet another move by the streamer to breathe new life into vintage TV properties, and for fans of the weird and wild, Land of the Lost is about as wild and weird as it gets! Originally debuting on NBC in 1974, Land of the Lost followed the Marshall family, Rick and his two kids, Will and Holly, who find themselves stuck in an alternate dimension crawling with dinosaurs, strange alien ruins, and the iconic lizard-like Sleestaks. It only ran for three seasons but managed to cement itself as a cult classic thanks to its inventive effects, psychedelic world-building, and sheer Saturday-morning charm. I remember watching reruns of this as a kid, and I loved the show! The show featured Wesley Eure, Kathy Coleman, and Spencer Milligan as the Marshalls, with Philip Paley playing Cha-Ka, a friendly Pakuni. And yes, it was every bit as bizarre and awesome as that sounds. Land of the Lost has been rebooted before with a short-lived 1991 version that aired on ABC, and most famously, it was turned into a 2009 movie starring Will Ferrell, which leaned hard into the comedy and was met with mixed reactions. Netflix has been on a bit of a nostalgia streak lately. In addition to Land of the Lost , it's currently producing a Little House on the Prairie reboot and recently ordered a pilot for a Different World follow-up. Past revivals like Lost in Space , One Day at a Time , and Good Times have shown the streamer isn't afraid to revisit old favorites and try new angles. There's no word yet on casting or timeline, but if Netflix plays this right, we might just get a Land of the Lost that blends the original's high-concept adventure with the kind of modern sci-fi flair today's audiences are hungry for.

'Land of the Lost' Reboot Coming Back To Life At Netflix
Netflix is turning back the clock with a return to the Land of the Lost . Deadline reports that the streamer is in the very early stages of development on a reboot of the 1970s series, with Legendary Television and Sid and Marty Krofft Productions, which worked on the original, helming the new project. Not much else is known, but a search for a writer is underway. Debuting in 1974, the show follows Rick Marshall (Spencer Milligan) and his kids Will (Wesley Eure) and Holly (Kathy Coleman), who accidentally go through a portal and find themselves in a mysterious land inhabited by dinosaurs and prehistoric species, including a T-Rex nicknamed Grumpy, reptilian humanoids called Sleestak, and primate-like people named Pakuni, one of whom became their friend, Cha-Ka. Some of the creatures were notably brought to life using stop-motion animation, and despite its short three-season run, Land of the Lost achieved cult classic status. The upcoming reboot marks a third revival, following a two-season remake in 1991 and a 2009 film featuring Will Ferrell. Sid and Marty Krofft Productions also produced both projects. It isn't Netflix's first attempt at reimagining classic adventures. The streamer has previously rebooted Lost in Space and One Day at a Time , and is currently filming a new Little House on the Prairie . Dreamworld sets tongues wagging with cryptic post ahead of Big Brother reboot: 'Is someone on The Giant Drop?'
It appears that Big Brother could be making a welcome return to its original Queensland home. The popular reality series, which is getting the reboot treatment in 2025, was filmed at Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld during its original Network Ten run from 2001 to 2008. Ahead of its anticipated return to Network Ten after a lacklustre showing on Seven, Dreamworld has dropped a major hint about a potential return to the site. Posting to its official social channels this week, Dreamworld staff shared a video that showed a passenger in a car driving past the theme park who spots a person on the side of the road with a sign reading, 'Look up'. The camera then pans over the towering ride The Giant Drop, with the passenger saying; 'Wait, do you guys see that? Is there someone on the Giant Drop?' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. A second clip, shared on Wednesday, shows two people standing atop the lofty ride declaring: 'Hold on tight, something massive is happening at Dreamworld.' Captioning the clip, theme park staff teased something 'big' would be revealed on Thursday 19 June. 'Something's up,' the caption read, the sentiment augmented by a bulging eyes emoji. 'Signs are pointing to Dreamworld - literally. Whatever it is, it's BIG. Stay tuned.' The comment was followed by: 'We told you something big was coming.... hold on tight... all will be revealed tomorrow.' The cryptic post was met with a flurry of comments from theme park fans with some suggesting that the scoop was Big Brother's return to Dreamworld. 'Big Brother!!! The eyes emoji and BIG capitalised in the caption give it away,' one eagle-eyed follower suggested. 'It is returning to its original home at channel 10 so it also makes sense to return to its actual home!' Another commented simply with: 'Big Brother,' while a third suggested it was in fact incoming host Mel Tacina that was standing on top of The Big Drop. The hints come after production company Endemol Shine all but confirmed the anticipated series would return to its spiritual Dreamland home. The production company, last week, put out a call for local production staff. 'Endemol Shine Australia is looking for Queensland-based post production crew available to work on-site for the return of Big Brother,' read the post. While no filming location was specified, the posts suggest that a new home could be built up North, after filming the latest three seasons in Sydney before the series was canned by Seven in 2014. The series will return to screens in early November and is expected to wrap in the first half of December. The abandoned Gold Coast house was deliberately lit on fire in June 2019. Four children aged between 11 and 15 were later charged with arson after it was set ablaze. Two nine-year-olds who were also arrested were released after assisting police with inquiries. After the show was axed in 2014, the unoccupied set was left to rot for five years. A new house was built in 2020 in Manly for when Channel Seven picked up the series before it was eventually relocated to Sydney Olympic Park in 2021 after being served an eviction notice by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. The eviction notice was issued due to concerns for local wildlife. A brand new crop of housemates will be live-streamed 24/7 as the series returns with a fresh new host in 2025. Tracina is planning to revamp the series after taking the hosting reins from Gold Logie winner Sonia Kruger. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Tracina revealed Aussie viewers will finally have access to the game in real time. 'What's so good about this is the livestream element,' she said. 'So you don't have to worry about getting a bad edit, or being the "season villain", because viewers can log in at any time and see what the [housemates] are up to.' The beloved reality show, which sees housemates compete to stay in the house to win prize money, found roaring success on Channel Ten in the early 2000s. Since then, the show has changed networks several times - first going over to Channel Nine before a revamped version at Channel Seven. Big Brother Australia was axed from Channel 7's 2024 schedule after scoring its lowest-rated season yet. The show got bumped from its original 7.30 time slot to a later time after just one week on-air and concluded its 15th season with just 152,000 overnight viewers in the five capital cities – a huge drop from when the show relaunched in 2020 with 853,000 viewers.
