Has We Were Liars been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:

Summary We Were Liars is the latest Amazon Prime Video Original. This psychological thriller has everything from family drama and betrayals to teen angst and memory loss. Amazon Prime Video determines whether to renew a show based on various factors such as completion rate, viewership numbers, production costs, and more. As of now, there's no news regarding the renewal of We Were Liars, but we look at the possibility of a Season 2. We Were Liars is another exciting Amazon Prime Video Original that graced our screens in May 2025. With complex themes of manipulation, privilege, memory loss and burying weaknesses, it's for those who are fans of thriller dramas. The 8-episode show stars Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, Joseph Zada and more. Based on the book of the same name by E. Lockhart, it is helmed by CW regulars, Julie Plec and Carina Adly Mackenzie. With bittersweet moments and plot twists, the season finale will have viewers on the edge of their seats. If you've watched the first season and want to know if there will be a second, this article has all the details you're looking for. Here's everything we know: What is We Were Liars Season 1 about? We Were Liars begins in Summer 17 with an amnesiac Cadence Sinclair trying to recall why she washed up on the beach of her summer house on Beechwood Island, injured and naked, a year ago. The Liars, comprising Gat and her cousins, Johnny and Mirren, were her best friends but haven't spoken to her all year. Desperate to figure out what went down and who is responsible, Cady heads back to Beechwood for answers. Summer 16 is happy, carefree and perfect, that is till Cady starts noticing all that is wrong with her rich and privileged family, the Sinclairs. Her mom and her aunts' sibling rivalry gets worse as they vie for the biggest slice of the inheritance. Her grandparents pit their children against each other to prove themselves. Gat seems to have gotten hot but also conscious of the Sinclairs' prejudice. And Johnny is hiding something that is more than just a kiss gone wrong. We have extensive coverage of We Were Liars Season 1 on the site, including recaps for all episodes. You can find those HERE! Has We Were Liars Been Renewed for Season 2? At the time of writing, Amazon Prime Video hasn't renewed We Were Liars for a Season 2. Amazon tends to look at views and the drop-off rates before renewing or cancelling the show, along with the critical success. Some shows are instantly renewed like Reacher or Fallout while others take years such as THEM and Upload. Popular Amazon Prime Originals do get renewals most of the time but only time will tell if We Were Liars will get a Season 2. But with the novel's prequel, 'Family of Liars' being acquired by Amazon as well, it seems like the studio is interested in renewing the show. What do we know about We Were Liars Season 2? Not much is known about We Were Liars Season 2 at the moment, given that it has not been greenlit. There are two ways it can go. If it is a prequel, it will follow 'Family of Liars'. Some of the novel's premise has already been set up in Season 1 with the mention of Rosemary, the dead fourth Sinclair sister, Carrie's addiction and plastic surgery, her friend, Yardley, Bess' apathy at Rosemary's death and Penny's sinister participation in whatever happened when they were 16. If it is a sequel, there is ample scope for that as well as Season 1 ends with Johnny getting stuck on Beechwood. If the show does return, you can expect a season with approximately 8 episodes, each lasting around an hour. Nothing is confirmed yet, but we'll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in. Would you like to see We Were Liars return for a second season? Or do you think the story has run its course? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

David Fincher's MINDHUNTER Series Could Return as a Trilogy of Films; Writers are Working on it — GeekTyrant

It's been a long, frustrating road for Mindhunter fans. David Fincher's hauntingly detailed psychological crime series seemed to disappear into the Netflix void after its second season, despite critical acclaim and a passionate fanbase. Since 2019, viewers have been left wondering whether they'd ever get closure or a proper ending. Now, we finally have a flicker of hope… with a twist. In a new conversation with CBR, Holt McCallany, who played Special Agent Bill Tench, shared the most encouraging update we've heard in years, and while it's not Season 3, it could be three two hour movies. 'So look, you know, I had a meeting with David Fincher in his office a few months ago, and he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it's just a chance. I know there are writers that are working, but you know, David has to be happy with scripts.' While, this isn't a sure thing, there is a possibility of Mindhunter returning as a trilogy of films, that is now officially on the table. For fans who've been stuck in cancellation limbo, this is big news. Mindhunter never looked like a big-budget beast, but Fincher's exacting standards and cinematic approach made the show expensive to produce, and that's part of why Netflix pulled the plug. The fact that writers are currently working on potential scripts signals that Fincher is seriously exploring this idea. And even if Netflix ultimately says no, there's still a chance these films could find a home elsewhere. The streaming landscape has shifted, and more than a few high-profile shows have hopped platforms to get finished. Of course, nothing is greenlit yet, but I love the idea that Mindhunter could return in the form of two-hour films. It's the kind of storytelling format that could actually suit the show's methodical pacing.

Succession meets White Lotus in this week's Psychological Thrillers: It's Always the Husband by C. L. Taylor, How the Other Half Die by Rachel North, The Stranger In Room Six by Jane Corry

It's Always the Husband is available now from the Mail Bookshop It's Always the Husband by C. L. Taylor (Avon £16.99, 352pp) This is a cute title that sums up what the mums at the school gate think. The object of their suspicion is Will, a single father. His two former partners appear to be either dead or have disappeared. And Will is doing nothing to dispel the gossip. Then newly arrived Jude is attracted to Will, who is the father of her daughter's best friend. But will the attraction prove fatal for Jude? The book is packed with characters who are relatable as school-gate types. Although the plot examines themes such as murder and grief, its key strength is the clever analysis of the part played by gossip. Super plot and snappy chapters. How the Other Half Die by Rachel North (Corvus £9.99, 400pp) Enjoying the psychological suffering of the rich has become a respectable pastime ever since the massive TV hit Succession. In this smartly observed tale the author has not only nailed the finer details of the lifestyle of the uber-wealthy, but also the subtle damage it can cause. All-powerful CEO Geri uses her 70th birthday as an excuse to summon her niece and two nephews to her private Italian island to discuss their inheritance. Predictably, they don't like what they hear. We already know from the prologue that someone dies. North's controlled story-telling maintains tension and also instructs us on the deeply-felt motivations of everyone involved in the dark events that unfold. There is a freshness about her characters that keeps you interested at all times. The Stranger In Room Six by Jane Corry (Penguin £9.99, 448pp) After serving a 15-year sentence for the manslaughter of her husband, Belinda takes a job as a carer in Devon, at the Sunnyside Home for the Young at Heart. There she strikes up a friendship with Mabel, the oldest resident and also the owner. Gradually, both women begin to reveal their secrets to each other. Meanwhile, a mysterious occupant in room six is watching, with plans of her own. The story flits easily between Belinda's life in prison and Mabel's past in the Second World War, conveyed in Corry's deceptively simple prose style. She has a rare talent to see beyond the physical degeneration of old people and portray them with all the rounded characteristics we take for granted in the young. It's also a history of parts of the war we don't know enough about.

Sydney and Jonathan, 41, started dating 2018 and got engaged in 2022 but kept their romance largely out of the public eye. Over the past few months, though, they were trailed by a swirl of rumours that they had called off the wedding, fuelled by Sydney's sightings without his ring.
