Registered sex offender will serve life in prison for Platte County crimes

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — Terry Lee Wilson, a registered sex offender, was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison for sexually abusing a young girl for over a decade. Wilson was found guilty in February by a Platte County jury of three counts of first degree statutory sodomy. This defendant repeatedly committed serious sexual offenses, causing significant harm to numerous victims," Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd said in a press release. "It is both just and necessary that he now will serve multiple life sentences, ensuring he can no longer endanger another young woman. He was previously convicted in 2003 out of Wyandotte County on multiple counts of felony attempted indecent liberties with a child and received probation. When the crimes in Platte County occurred, Wilson was a registered sex offender. The victim in the Platte County case testified that the sexual abuse increased over a number of years and she eventually contacted the Metropolitan Organization to County Sexual Assault to report the abuse, according to a press release. Since Wilson was charged as a predatory sexual offender, the minimum sentence was life in prison. The sentence he received on Wednesday was three terms of life imprisonment. 'I am very proud of this young girl for coming forward, ultimately leading to a dangerous man now spending the rest of his life in prison. We will continue to do all we can in Platte County to rid our streets of sexual predators,' said Zahnd in a press release. The Kansas City Police Department investigated the case.

Predator who carried ‘rape kit' while posing as Uber driver to attack young women found guilty of kidnap and sex assault

A VILE sex predator carried a "rape kit" while posing as an Uber driver to attack his victims. Graham Head was today found guilty of attempting to rape one woman and sexually assaulting another in attacks around Brighton and Hove. 5 5 In July 2023, the 68-year-old was sentenced to 23 years behind bars for kidnap, attempted rape and assault by penetration relating to two female victims. But the Court of Appeal overturned his conviction in November 2024 after a complaint from the sex predator concerning the Judge who had ruled in the first trial. Head appeared at Lewes Crown Court for his retrial today, where a jury again found him guilty of all counts. The twisted fake taxi driver is set to be sentenced on August 25. Shocking footage of Head's arrest in 2022 showed the moment he was stopped by cops with a "rape" kit. Jurors at Lewes Crown Court previously heard how a 25-year-old female victim had managed to read his number plate after being attacked. The woman reported waking up in a car, which she thought was a taxi, to find a man sexually assaulting her. She had gotten into the car earlier that night, to travel from Brighton to Hove. The victim escaped at around 3am and called 999 to report being assaulted by a man in latex gloves and a Covid mask. The court was told Head was a "sexual predator" who "slipped up" the night he was arrested. In footage shown to jurors, police can be seen talking to the 68-year-old after pulling him over in Brighton. As he is speaking, police decide to search his car where they found latex gloves, viagra, condoms and a balaclava that formed a rape kit. When asked why he had the condoms and viagra, Head said: "I'm a normal red blooded male". Police also found business cards advertising him as a "N-Uber driver" that had the slogan "Safe and Reliable - For All Occasions". Head was also found guilty of assaulting a 19-year-old woman he picked up near Hove Park. She was pulled into bushes where the predator attempted to rape her, after the victim initially took a lift from him. The two attacks took place in the early hours of August 19 and November 18, 2022. Detective Constable Elliott Lander from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: 'Graham Head has twice tried to evade justice for his despicable crimes, and now twice been convicted by separate juries. 'His refusal to accept responsibility for his offending has forced his victims to relive the traumatic attacks carried out by him. The impact on them and their families cannot be overstated, and I commend all involved for their strength and courage in such challenging circumstances. 'Head will remain in prison, as he has throughout this process, as we await resentencing.' One of Head's victims, a 25-year-old woman, tragically passed away last year. Her heartbroken mum released the following emotional statement: "Regardless of the outcome of this trial and independently of the jury's verdicts on each of the charges that Graham Head has just faced, I want to say a few words on behalf of my daughter. "My (only) daughter tragically died in late 2024 – a couple days after being informed by the CPS that Graham Head had been successful in appealing his conviction for kidnap of my daughter and for causing serious sexual harm to her and to another even younger female victim. "I feel strongly that I need to protect the anonymity of my own and my daughter's friends and the families and friends of Graham Head's victims. "However, I want to recognise and say my own deep thanks for the strong and compassionate support that my daughter, myself, and our family have received from the Police, the CPS, the witness service, and the Courts over the past two years. "This retrial process has been tremendously difficult and a huge strain for all of us; we're glad it is now over. "I'm especially grateful for the attuned support of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT) and the Independent Sexual Violence Advocacy (ISVA) service who supported my daughter every step of the way through the challenges of bringing this man to justice on both trials. "Looking to my family's future following my daughter's death, my biggest hope is that other families can now hopefully feel much safer knowing that this dangerous man is no longer able to predate and attack any other vulnerable young local woman thanks to his deserved (re)conviction for these appalling offences. "My other hope is that, if there are other young women who feel they may have narrowly escaped or fallen victim to this sexual predator, then they will hopefully be reassured by my daughter's and our family's experience that they will be listened to, supported, and well cared for by the Police and Court systems." 5 5

Nine Women Come Forward With Serious Claims Against Jared Leto Over 'Predatory' Actions Towards Minors

Jared Leto has been hit with a number of sexual misconduct allegations, including flirting with underage women. The accusations come from nine women who claimed to have met the actor and musician at some point over the last two decades. In the wake of the allegations, a rep for Leto has "expressly denied" all of the claims made by the women. At the moment, it appears none of the women has brought forward a civil suit against Jared Leto with regard to the accusations. In a new report released by Air Mail recently, Jared Leto stands accused of impropriety by nine women, with some of the incidents said to have occurred over the last two decades. One of the women, Allie Teliz, who kick-started the influx of accusations against the actor, claimed that he "assaulted and traumatized" her when she met him at an event in 2012. "Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat," said Teliz in a 2012 Facebook post, which she recently reshared. The 31-year-old American DJ, music producer, and model, who claims she was 17 at the time, also captioned the post with a statement to double down on her allegations. "Throwback to 2012, Jared Leto was a creep then … still a creep now, going on 15+ years of being Hollywood's most persistent predator in a kilt." According to Teliz, Leto didn't care that she was a minor, even when she made it known to him. She also described his actions as "predatory, terrifying, and unacceptable." A second accuser shared that she had met Leto at the Los Angeles Urth Caffé in 2006 when she was 16. Recalling the incident, she claimed that the actor had accosted her when she was on her way to the bathroom. There, they had a quick conversation, which eventually led to her giving him her number. After a few days, he reached out to her, and from then on, he engaged her in late-night conversations. These conversations, with time, saw Leto allegedly making inappropriate advances toward her. And, at some point, he began asking her lewd questions to test her knowledge of sex. "He'd ask things like, 'Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever sucked a d-ck?'" Leto's accuser claimed. Leto's alleged encounter with the second accuser also shared many similarities with his interactions with model Laura La Rue. She had met the actor when she was 16, and he collected her number despite her informing him she was a minor. La Rue went on to claim that when she eventually visited Leto, he spent the "whole time" "flirting" with her and "teasing" her. Two additional accusers, who recounted their experiences, alluded to the actor's pattern of unsettling and unusual sexual conduct. One claimed that after meeting Leto at an 18-plus club when she was 20, they "ended up hooking up a little." They also "hung out a few times at his house," but he displayed a "kind of kink" that just "didn't feel right." The other accuser, who also met the "Dallas Buyers Club" star when she was underage, gave a more graphic detail about one of her weird sexual experiences with Leto. "[He] pulled his p-nis out and started m-sturbating," the anonymous woman recalled an incident that happened during one of her visits to his home. She added, "Then he walked over, grabbed my hand, and put it on him. He leaned in and said, 'I want you to spit on it.'" Although Leto is yet to comment on the accusations, a rep for the actor "expressly denied" all of the claims. That hasn't stopped Leto from being slammed by netizens who are shocked by his alleged interactions with these women. A user commented, "OK, now can we get on cancelling Jared Leto?!" "I'm glad it's getting some renewed awareness, but this has been common knowledge for quite some time. That's why he does not get work like he used to," another user remarked.

Brave sex assault victim fought off attacker and texted pal 'I'm being raped' after being dragged into bushes in a park at 4am, court hears

A 19-year-old woman sent a text message to a friend saying 'I am being raped' after being picked up by a fake Uber driver and into dragged into bushes in a park, a court heard. The woman had been on a night out when she was allegedly approached by 'sexual predator' Graham Head, jurors were told. Head, 68, is accused of posing as an 'unofficial Uber' to target 'vulnerable and intoxicated' women. Lewes Crown Court heard he was found with latex gloves, condoms, Viagra tablets and a balaclava in his silver Mercedes estate when he was arrested. In his home were business cards advertising him as a 'N-Uber driver' with the slogan 'Safe and Reliable - For All Occasions' underneath one of his phone numbers. He is on trial accused of kidnapping, attempted rape, and sexual assault of a 25-year old woman, along with assault by penetration and sexual assault of the 19-year-old woman - all of which he denies. The first alleged attack is said to have happened in the early hours of August 19 2022 in Hove Park in Brighton. The court heard Head had earlier withdrawn money from a cash machine inside a strip club in the city before pulling up in front of the 19-year-old, who had been out drinking with friends. He drove her to the park where he dropped her off before allegedly returning to attack her at around 4am while wearing a Covid mask, the court heard. Prosecutor Paul Jarvis KC said: 'The defendant was intent on sexually assaulting her'. The woman, who cannot be named, told the court on Tuesday: 'The man came up to me. I was a bit surprised, I assumed it was just a weird man who wanted to talk.' She said he then grabbed her and started to sexually assault her. 'He did not say a word,' she said. 'I was shouting at him to stop.' The woman said he wrestled her to the ground before dragging her into bushes. 'He didn't say anything, he showed no reaction at all,' she said. The woman said her attacker kicked her and tried to sweep her legs to get her onto the ground, leaving her with cuts and bruises. 'I was still being held down,' she said. 'I managed to reach into my bag and quickly texted my friend and said I was being raped.' She said her friend immediately phoned back. 'I don't think he noticed until the phone started ringing,' she said. 'I know he got up and ran away but I don't know what direction because I was just focused on running away myself. 'I explained to my friend what has just happened to me. 'I was on the phone to her for the whole time and I know that I ran.' The next day she called police and described a man with short, grey hair wearing a light blue Covid mask. A recording of her 999 call was played to the jury. She told the operator: 'I feel like it was very calculated and he will do it to other women. I was fighting him for about 20mins. 'I've got cuts and stuff on my legs from being dragged across the ground. 'He kept tripping me up and pinning me to the floor. I was screaming and shouting. He definitely does this to other women. 'He waited till I was alone and that's when he attacked me. I don't think this is the first time he's done this. 'I think the covid mask was to hide his identity. I don't want this to happen to anybody else. 'I've been lucky.' The woman said she had been drinking from around 6pm until around 2am. On Monday on the first day of his trial, jurors were told Head was a 'sexual predator' who 'slipped up' the night he was arrested by police. Opening the case, Mr Jarvis KC said the 19 year old was 'intoxicated and vulnerable' when she was sexually assaulted. He said the second victim, aged 25, was also vulnerable and intoxicated in the early hours of the morning when Head kidnapped her and sexually assaulted her in his car and then drove off leaving her distressed on the roadside. On both occasions the defendant was driving his grey Mercedes estate motor vehicle with the registration number L21 GRH, the prosecutor said. The 25-year-old was able to remember the 'L21' portion of Head's number plate which led to police pulling his car over and arresting him the same night, jurors were told. She has since died. The trial continues.
