Entitled plane passenger's drunk meltdown over being forced to sit next to woman she deemed 'too fat'

An entitled plane passenger was caught having a drunk meltdown after she was forced to 'sit next to a f***ing fat lady' on a cross-country flight. The 32-year-old repeatedly pulled another female passenger's hair, spat in her face and kicked her on a Southwest Airlines plane at LaGuardia Airport in New York en route to Kansas City early Monday morning. Several clips also showed the woman screaming at the unidentified passenger over her weight and clothing. The 'intoxicated passenger' who donned long black hair, a red baseball hat and an all-black outfit, appeared to get verbally confrontational with the other woman just moments before things turned physical. She then gripped the other woman's hair and screamed: 'Shut the f*** up, don't f***ing touch me!' Several people then stepped in, including two Southwest employees and another passenger, seemingly trying to de-escalate the situation. A female employee then called another staff member on the phone and repeatedly asked the woman to let go of the other passenger's hair, but she refused to and flashed a cunning smile. 'I'm not even touching her hair b****,' the unhinged passenger replied while she hung onto the woman's hair and grinned. A traveler who recorded the intense scene told Daily Mail the woman was so aggressive she even 'knocked the glasses off the southwest employee.' 'When she first started saying stuff I called out "why don't you be nice?" She turned around and called me ugly a few times and that I could never get a boyfriend or have sex. I looked at her and said I've been married for almost 20 years lady,' the passenger recalled. After asking other staff to notify police of the incident, she shouted: '911!' with her arms held behind her back. Still holding the woman's hair, she yelled: 'Yeah, I'm sorry! I didn't want to sit next to a f**ing fat lady.' While people continued to try to get her to let go of the woman's hair, she shouted: 'You guys are already past the point of no return. You're already past the point of no return!' Once she finally released her hand from the woman's head, her hands were placed behind her back as a Southwest flight attendant stepped in and secured some sort of restraints on her wrists. 'Look at this fat lady. Look at this fat a** b****. She can't even, look, you can't even see her stomach,' she babbled on as the woman she was talking about sat in front of her. 'It's horrible. Look at her outfit,' she added. 'Look at this fat a** b****. Hilarious. You can't even show your mouth because you're embarrassed,' she went on, referring to the woman's face mask. The rowdy passenger then looked towards a man, also wearing a face mask, who was sitting next to the woman she repeatedly harassed. She screamed: 'Shut the f*** up!... Sorry, I can't hear you ugly a** f***ing dude who's never gonna get laid again.' Her comments only proceeded to intensify as she shouted at a man trying to help employees restrain her. 'Oh, I'm sorry black guy! My boyfriend's black so shut the f*** up. My boyfriend's f***ing a black guy, my boyfriend's a black, my boyfriend's black, my boyfriend's a f***ing black guy,' she said as she appeared to slur her words and stumble over the chair. She then picked her head up and spit directly at the woman she was seen berating, getting saliva all over her face. Those holding her back then tried to move her away as one employee appeared to use the woman's hair as a way to shield her spit from spreading. 'Miss, please, we're not doing all that. We're not doing all that,' the staffer said as she replied: 'Shut the f*** up!' She continued to throw around profanities and talk poorly about the woman and the man sitting next to her. 'Ugly a** b****... You never got laid in your life. Your boyfriend's d*** is like two inches big - that's embarrassing,' she said. 'Oh, so sorry about your boyfriend. That's horrible. That's horrible.' The crazy passenger then fell to the ground, planting her face in the aisle of the plane as she complained: 'I can't breathe.' She then suddenly flipped around on the ground, shouting: 'Shut the f*** up I can't breathe,' as her hair covered her face. Her legs then flew in the air as she continued cursing while passengers and staff looked on. 'Nobody's f***ing touching me! You're not letting me go motherf***er. You're corny as f***,' she continued. The woman she was harassing then said she couldn't 'get out,' to which she replied: 'Yeah you can't get out! You're f***ing fat as sh**,' as she kicked the lady. The woman and man then got out of their seats while staff dealt with the woman in the aisle. She appeared to cooperate for a moment, but then she started yelling and kicking the employees and other passengers who tried to help. The passenger was eventually escorted off the aircraft on a gurney and was not allowed to get back on the flight, a spokesperson with Southwest Airlines told Daily Mail. The Port Authority Police Department was called around 1.10 am to a report of an 'intoxicated passenger,' a spokesperson with the Port Authority Police Department told Daily Mail. She was transported to a hospital for evaluation before being taken into custody at the New York City Department of Correction for aggravated assault. 'We commend our Team for their professionalism during the incident,' Southwest said.

Common Ryanair cost-saving tactic backfires as furious holidaymaker booted off flight

A furious Ryanair passenger vowed he will 'never fly with the airline again' after what a common money-saving plan eventually cost him his seat on the flight. Scott McCormick and his girlfriend, Helena Boshwick, both 33, were set to fly from Birmingham Airport on May 1 to Palma de Mallorca, Spain, for a week-long break and gym mentorship event. The couple chose not to reserve seats - which typically costs between £4.50 and £33 per seat - prior to boarding as they 'didn't mind' sitting apart during the two-hour flight. A common tactic among Ryanair and low-cost carrier customers is to skip seat selection and rely on random allocation during check-in to save money on seat fees. This can be a gamble, as passengers might not get a seat next to their travel companions - or they could find themselves wedged in between two strangers if they've been assigned a less-desirable middle seat. However, by checking in as late as possible within the 24-hour window, customers might increase their chances of getting a better seat. But according to Scott, Ryanair gate staff told the couple the flight was full and there was only one available seat left once all passengers had boarded. The fitness mentor, from Birmingham, West Midlands, said: 'We checked in the night before and we didn't reserve a seat but you normally just get a random one. Ryanair gate staff reportedly told the couple - who did not reserve seats during check-in - that there was only one available seat left once all other passengers had boarded 'Me and my partner thought it's not that much of a problem if we're not sitting together for a two-hour flight, we're adults here. He added: 'We were the first ones at the gate ready for boarding. The lady scanned our boarding passes and told us to step to the side for a second. That moment was a red flag, I thought: "There's something happening here".' 'When everyone boarded, she said: "the plane is full, there's only one seat remaining and we will have to reimburse you for the other seat or you'll have to get on the next flight".' The news led to Scott and his girlfriend having a 'meltdown' as they had wanted to catch the same flight and arrive to their destination together. He explained: 'There was no compassion or care whatsoever. After going back and forth we said we're not going to take separate flights and be in separate countries for hours.' The gym owner claims they protested and were finally told that they could both get on the next flight and receive a refund for both tickets. Scott added: 'I asked if we can have that in writing or an email for them to confirm it in some way. They said it's on the system, and when we go to ticket sales, they will reimburse us and we can get on the next flight.' But when the couple went to the check-in desk again, they were reportedly told they still had to pay for one of the tickets - while Scott claims he never received a refund. The couple reportedly shelled out a further £100 on a new ticket and waited four hours for the next departing flight to Palma (Pictured: Scott in Palma de Mallorca after arriving hours later) According to the holidaymaker, one of the seats had been marked in the system as a cancelled booking, while the other was put down as a missed flight - meaning the pair would be reimbursed for one while the other had to be paid for. The couple reportedly shelled out a further £100 on a new ticket and waited four hours for the next departing flight to Palma. Though the pair were assured that a refund would be processed for one of the tickets, Scott claims he has still not received it or heard from Ryanair. He claims the experience felt like 'discrimination,' and that the couple were singled out because they are 'young' and childfree. The fitness fanatic said he will now avoid flying with the airline due to the staff members' 'lack of compassion.' Scott said: 'Ryanair should have asked all passengers if anyone would like to volunteer their seats. 'It felt like discrimination, how do they pick out these people, is it because we're young and we have no kids so there's just two of us, is it to do with something we don't see or understand. 'There was so much of it that was really frustrating, and it's the lack of care, no empathy. You can be bawling your eyes out and they just don't care, they're dead pan.' 'We just had to get over what happened, it was a terrible way to start a holiday. They said at ticket sales they would be doing this themselves and get everything over and start the process so I haven't formally complained. 'I don't think they did, I definitely haven't got the money back. We just got caught in a big company's terms and conditions. I would avoid it [Ryanair] if I could now. Why am I being singled out?' When Scott shared his ordeal on social media, many were shocked to hear that airlines might overbook a flight - though some suggested reserving a seat can help avoid being 'singled out' for not getting aboard. One person said: "Prepay for a seat, then problem solved. ALL airlines do this." When someone suggested queuing early to ensure you get a seat, another swiped: 'Or just book your seat.' A third wrote: 'This is crazy! Surely if you pay and don't reserve a seat, you still paid with the intention of getting on a flight how can they not allow you on?' A fourth echoed the opinion of many commenters and said: 'Why do people still fly with Ryanair? It blows my mind! It's the most awful airline.'

Replica grenade found on bus in Plano prompts bomb scare

A replica grenade was found on a bus in Plano, prompting a bomb scare. Police said a passenger from Sunday left their bag on the bus and it was discovered on Monday when the driver was checking bags as passengers were loading. When the bus driver was checking bags, he saw the grenade inside and called police. The bus was then evacuated and eastbound Spring Creek Parkway at US 75 and Northbound Trail was shut down. The owner of the bag was contacted by police and said the device was an inert, or inactive, grenade that belonged to his grandfather and was a war replica. Police confirmed it was a dead device. Police remained on the scene to investigate, but there was no public threat. Police said no injuries were reported.

This Traveler's Very Public Airport Meltdown Over Carry-on Luggage Got Her Booted Off Her Flight

Flying during the summer travel season can sometimes be a stressful experience, but one viral video revealed the extreme difficulty some travelers are having. While a trip to Italy usually means relaxation and la dolce vita (or the sweet life), one woman hit the point of exasperation at Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) due to a disagreement at the boarding counter, allegedly over the weight of a suitcase, the International Business Times reports. The traveler, who was reported to be female, showed her frustration by lying down on the ground and pounding her fists into the stone flooring. At the same time, she was kicking her legs and stomping on the ground in despair. The traveler also waved a piece of paper throughout the disagreement. The incident took place inside Milan Airport's Terminal 1 at gate B30, presumably during the boarding process, based on airport signage in the video. Travelers could be seen keeping their distance, while some at the counter just stared at the woman as she displayed her frustration. The video also has audio of the incident, where the passenger begins wailing in rhythm with the physical motions. In subsequent videos shared on Reddit, Italian police officers were seen talking to the woman as she sat on the ground. Airline personnel are also seen trying to calmly assist the passenger during the time of the event. "Does having a tantrum at the airport ever work?" one person shared in a Reddit thread. "Oh you're hysterical? Let's get you trapped on a 6 hour flight then." Other social media users called the passenger "childish" and compared her to a "toddler." According to the woman was not allowed to board her flight and had to book a new ticket. The airport did not reply to a request for comment from Travel + Leisure . The incident is a reminder that while many airlines don't routinely weigh bags or check sizes, it's best practice to be ready to pivot plans if you've overpacked since every carrier has rules for carry-on luggage weight limits. And, perhaps most importantly, outbursts against employees is never the solution. For years, airline employees, specifically flight attendants and gate agents, have spoken out about the difficult conditions they face from unruly and disruptive passengers. Numerous examples of assault, threats, and abuse were documented in a February 2022 letter from labor representatives of transportation workers and airline gate agents to federal government officials. 'Airline gate agents are a vital part of a multilayered airline security and safety process at the airport,' the letter reads. 'Our members are responsible for checking passengers into their flights, checking luggage to comply with airline weight and balance limits and boarding passengers onto the aircraft in an orderly and structured way.'
