Mississauga man accused of sexually assaulting 'multiple' girls under 16
A Mississauga man is accused of sexually assaulting girls under 16 years old whom he met online over the last nine months. Peel Regional Police allege the accused communicated with 'multiple' girls through social media between September 2024 and June 2025. It's alleged the man used the online name '-PoloPapi-' and 'engaged in sexual relations with the victims who were under the age of 16.' A suspect was subsequently identified and arrested on Wednesday. Carlos Galeano, 28, is charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, and one count each of breach of a probation order and assault. It's alleged that between September 2024 and June 2025, the suspect using the online name '‑PoloPapi‑' engaged in sexual relations with multiple female victims underage. On Wednesday, police arrested Carlos Galeano and laid several charges including two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, breach of probation order and assault. Galeano has appeared in Brampton court for a bail hearing. Police say they believe there 'may be additional victims' and are urging anyone with information to call the SVU at 905‑453‑2121 ext 3460. Anonymous information can also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

High school teacher caught in undercover sting operation after explicit chats with 'teen girl' online: police
An Oregon high school teacher is behind bars after an undercover sting operation led to authorities charging him with online sex crimes against children. Oscar Armando Ramirez, 36, allegedly had sexually explicit conversations with who he believed was a 13-year-old girl while working as a local high school teacher, according to the Portland Police Bureau. However, Ramirez was actually talking to an undercover police officer posing as a child in a sting operation targeting online predators, authorities said. "The chatting continued for four days and included lewd sexual conversations about acts that Ramirez wanted to do with her," the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement. "In the conversations with [Bothell Police Detective Mike Garcia], Ramirez agreed to meet with her and made arrangements to meet when her parents would not be home." Ramirez allegedly revealed he was a high school teacher while the pair were communicating, prompting authorities to notify the Gresham-Barlow School District, which subsequently placed Ramirez on leave. The Gresham-Barlow School District and Multnomah County District Attorney's Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. Last week, Ramirez was taken into custody outside his Portland home and charged with three counts of luring a minor and one count of online sexual corruption of a child. He is currently being held in the Multnomah County Detention Center. The investigation did not reveal any crimes involving students at the high school or any other children, police said. Ramirez pleaded not guilty to the charges and is set to return to court on Tuesday, according to KOIN 6. Fox News Digital was unable to immediately locate an attorney for Ramirez.

Halifax police charge man with child luring after receiving tip from U.S. group
A Halifax-area man has been charged with child luring after police received a tip from the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip on May 21 alleged a suspect was using social media to talk to a 10-year-old American girl about inappropriate sexual activities. Halifax Regional Police say their investigation determined the two had begun communicating online in January 2025, using platforms including Snapchat and Slowly. Investigators allege the man presented himself as a 15-year-old boy who also mailed the girl handwritten letters and gifts. The investigation included co-operation between the Halifax Integrated Child Exploitation Unit and the Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center in Wisconsin. On Thursday, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Dartmouth, N.S., where electronic devices and firearms were seized. The suspect was arrested without incident and charged with luring a child under 16, making child pornography, and five offences related to firearms.
