Cops tracking down man over road rage incident at Kempas toll plaza

PETALING JAYA : Police are tracking down a man who allegedly assaulted a lorry driver in a road rage incident at the Kempas toll plaza on the North-South Expressway last Sunday. Johor Bahru Utara police chief Balveer Singh said the 31-year-old driver lodged a report at 5.35pm, about three hours after the incident. He said the driver had honked at a car that did not move when the toll barrier was lifted. 'An unidentified man came out of his car and asked the complainant to open his door. 'He proceeded to strike the victim several times on the face and head. The lorry driver eventually fought back by kicking the assailant out of the lorry,' he said in a statement. Balveer said the incident is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for affray, or public brawling.

Lorry driver, Myanmar worker hurt in collision with trailer on NSE near Sungai Petani; three more escape injuries
SUNGAI PETANI, June 10 — A lorry driver and a Myanmar worker were injured in an accident involving a trailer and a seven-tonne lorry at Kilometre 106.8 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) near the Sungai Petani Utara exit near here, last night. Guar Chempedak Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd Happyzam Abd Rasid, said the incident involved five victims, three of whom were uninjured. 'The fire brigade received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8.51 pm and rushed to the scene. 'The lorry driver and the Myanmar national, both in their 30s, suffered minor injuries while the 49-year-old trailer driver and two Myanmar nationals, both in their 30s, were reported to be safe,' he said in a statement today. According to him, all five victims were conscious after the accident and got out of their respective vehicles before the rescue team arrived. 'The injured victims were then taken to hospital using an EMRS vehicle for operation ended at 10.11pm last night,' he said. — Bernama

Macosquin: Man dies following crash between van and lorry
A man has died following a crash involving the van he was driving and a lorry in County Londonderry on Wednesday. Ruben Alexandre Guimares, 44, from the Moy area, died at the scene. The crash happened on the Dunhill road in Macosquin at 11:55 BST. The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be serious. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them. The Dunhill Road has now been fully re-opened, following the crash.

Sheep killed after lorry crashes off A920 in Aberdeenshire
Several sheep have been killed after a livestock transport lorry crashed off a rural road in incident happened on the A920 Boghead to Moray route at about 09: Scotland said "a number of sheep" died in the crash, which did not involve any other vehicles. The male lorry driver was not of dead sheep could be seen at the roadside while a crane was called in to recover the lorry. Police closed the road during the operation and asked drivers to avoid the area.

Lorry driver nabbed over 6-vehicle pile-up on Guthrie Highway

(PDRM pics) KUALA LUMPUR : A lorry driver has been arrested to assist in investigations into an accident involving six vehicles at the Guthrie Highway exit heading towards the Bukit Subang traffic lights which left two people seriously injured yesterday. Sungai Buloh district police chief Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said the incident, which occurred at about 1.20pm, involved a 31-year-old man who was driving the lorry from Batu Arang towards Cyberjaya and was believed to have lost control of the vehicle. 'Preliminary investigations based on dashboard camera footage revealed that the lorry first collided with a Proton Saga, which then hit four other vehicles in an adjacent lane travelling in the same direction. 'All of the vehicles involved were badly damaged while the 29-year-old driver of the Proton Saga and her four-year-old daughter, who was in a child seat at the back, were seriously injured,' he said in a statement today. Hafiz said apart from the lorry and the Proton Saga, two other cars, a van, and a multi-purpose vehicle were also involved. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
