Cheated by business partner, 43-year-old dies by suicide
HYDERABAD: A 43-year-old businessman, Muralidhar Reddy, died by suicide on Wednesday morning, allegedly over being cheated by his business partner and the company's accountant. Police said Muralidhar took the extreme step at his penthouse in Suraram between 5.30 am and 6 am while the rest of the family was asleep. A suicide note was found in his pocket, in which he accused Satyanarayana Goud and Phani Kumar of cheating him of Rs 30 lakh. He wrote that the betrayal had left him feeling like a 'useless fellow' in front of others. Police foil suicide bid Miyapur police rescued a woman from Secunderabad who attempted to die by suicide due to health issues on Wednesday. The woman, a mother of three working as a caretaker at a residence in Jubilee Hills, had reportedly been battling severe headaches and other health complications that led to depression. According to police, she went to the Hafizpet Railway Station, where she made a distress call to her family. Patrolling cops traced her location using her mobile phone signal and rescued her from the tracks near Hafizpet station. She was later counselled by Circle Inspector Kranthi Kumar. Farmer dies by suicide in Mulugu, kin blame abuse over borrowed debt
MULUGU: A farmer allegedly died by suicide after consuming pesticide outside the house of a fertiliser shopowner in Abbapur village on Tuesday. The victim was identified as G Raju, a resident of the same village. According to his wife, G Padma, Raju had borrowed Rs 3 lakh from the shop owner, N Jitender, on interest. 'For three years, Jitender had been harassing and abusing my husband to repay the money. Unable to bear the pressure, my husband warned that he would consume pesticide in front of the shopowner's house if the harassment continued,' Padma said. On Wednesday, locals found Raju unconscious with froth coming from his mouth and immediately informed the police. Mulugu Sub-Inspector Venkateshwar Rao and his team rushed to the spot and shifted Raju to the Mulugu government hospital, where he succumbed later that night. Based on a complaint filed by Raju's wife, a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The body was sent to Mulugu government hospital for postmortem. Rajasthan: Couple commits suicide after husband loses Rs 5 lakh on gaming app
KOTA: A married couple committed suicide, reportedly depressed over the husband losing around Rs 5 lakh while gambling online, police said on Monday. Deepak Rathore and his wife were found hanging from ceiling fans in their house in Kheda Rampur village in the district on Monday morning, police said. The couple reportedly purchased a nylon rope from a local market on Sunday night and hanged themselves after having dinner, police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dhaka said that when Deepak's father knocked on the door of their room on Monday morning, there was no answer. When the door was broken open, the duo was found hanging inside. Police said no suicide note was found in the room. According to Deepak's family members, he had recently lost around Rs 5 lakh while gambling online and was depressed. A couple of days ago, Deepak had spoken on the phone with his wife's elder sister and told her about his ordeal and that he had no other option but to end his life. His sister-in-law urged him not to take any extreme steps and assured help, the family members said. Meanwhile, DSP Dhaka said a probe has been launched to ascertain the cause behind the alleged suicide. The bodies have been handed over to family members after a post-mortem, he added. Day after Inter results, 16-year-old dies by suicide in Telangana
ADILABAD: A day after the Inter results were announced, a 16-year-old first-year student allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Luxettipet town of Mancherial district on Wednesday. According to reports, four students have killed themselves over poor performance in the state Inter exams, while several others, fearing low marks, had killed themselves even before the results were announced on Tuesday. According to police, the victim, Pandiri Ashwitha, a student of a private college, had failed her English paper as she did not attend the practical exam. While her family members were out for work during the day, Ashwitha hanged herself from a ceiling fan and ended her life. Their neighbours saw her and informed her father and the police. Luxettipet police have registered a case and handed over her body to Ashwitha's family members after the postmortem.
