Severe thunderstorm watch in effect Thursday [Updated]
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch Thursday afternoon for Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties that is in effect until 9 p.m. Also included are 16 counties in New Jersey, including Camden, Mercer and Gloucester. At 3:56 p.m. the NWS reported severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Manheim to Millersville in Lancaster County to to Stewartstown, York County, moving east at 25 mph and issued a severe thunderstorm warning for those counties. The storms included 60 mph wind gusts and penny-sized hail. Heat advisories for Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties issued yesterday were extended to 8 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Regina, parts of southeast Sask.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of southeast Saskatchewan, including Regina, on Wednesday afternoon. According to an alert from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) just before 2 p.m., conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms which could produce hail and strong winds. Other areas under the alert include Yorkton, Estevan, Lloydminster, Moosomin, and surrounding areas. ECCC advises people to go inside if they hear thunder, as storms can be dangerous. Earlier on Wednesday, a social media post from ECCC Weather Saskatchewan advised that more severe weather is possible for Thursday. For current alerts, visit ECCC.

Thunderstorms could bring large hail, gusty winds to parts of Manitoba: ECCC
Colleen Bready has your current conditions and updated weather forecast for June 18, 2025. Multiple communities in Manitoba are under a severe thunderstorm watch. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued the watch Wednesday afternoon, which includes a number of southwestern communities, including Brandon, Virden and Russell. 'Conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing large hail and strong, gusty winds,' ECCC said in the bulletin. Toonie sized hail and wind gusts exceeding 90 km/h are also possible, ECCC said. In addition to southwest Manitoba, the Parklands region and southeast Saskatchewan are also under the watch.

Environment Canada issues severe thunderstorm warnings for Edmonton region
Severe thunderstorms are expected to blanket portions of Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park Wednesday afternoon. Environment Canada issued a warning shortly before 1 p.m., encouraging residents to take cover and avoid driving if they find themselves in affected areas. As of about 1:30 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located 10 kilometres east of Morinville and is nearly stationary. The national weather service said the current weather conditions could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Portions of northwest Alberta may also see funnel clouds develop throughout the day. This comes as a thunderstorm in late May set the record for the second strongest winds on record in Edmonton.
