HOUSTON - A ground stop has been reissued for flights that are scheduled to land at Houston's Bush Airport due to storms across the area. What we know According to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airspace System, the ground stop is in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday. The stop impact flights arriving at Bush Airport. Those arriving flights are also being delayed by an average of 171 minutes (two hours, 11 minutes). Big picture view A Flood Advisory is in effect for Montgomery County and northern Harris County - which includes the Bush Airport area - until 8:45 p.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service detected 1–2 inches of rain for the affected area, which could cause minor flooding in "low-lying and poor drainage areas." The FOX 26 weather team is predicting an unsettled weather pattern for Southeast Texas with storms returning on Monday. All flights at Dallas Fort Worth International have been ordered to stay on the ground due to large thunderstorms in the area. The Federal Aviation Administration announced a group stop on Wednesday morning, which is expected to last until the early afternoon at the major hub. The FAA said there was a medium probability that they would extend the ground stop, due to the inclement weather in the area. The Texas city was hit with a flood watch on Memorial Day after more than two inches of rain hit the area, according to the National Weather Service. On Wednesday, their Fort Worth office said that a cold front would be the focus of thunderstorms developing into Thursday. They said: 'A few strong to marginally severe storms may occur. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to mid 80s, which is slightly below normal for this time of year.'

FAA grounds flight departures to Orlando from some regions because of thunderstorms
The Federal Aviation Administration has announced that departures to Orlando International Airport from certain areas of the United States and Florida are grounded Saturday evening due to thunderstorms. FAA issued the ground stop at 5:59 p.m. and it will continue until 7:15 p.m. with a 30-60% chance of an extension. The ground stop applies to departures heading to OIA from the Atlanta area; the Washington, D.C. area; the Houston area; and in Florida from the Jacksonville and Miami areas. Over 65 canceled flights; nearly 250 delayed after electrical issue causes ground stop at Philly International

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - In a chaotic 24 hours, many passengers traveling in and out of Philadelphia International Airport have seen their flights delayed for hours or outright canceled, as airlines try to catch up. What we know A ground stop was reported at Philadelphia International Airport, affecting American Airlines, late Saturday morning. The airline said three flights were canceled due to the electrical issue and by 2 p.m. Saturday, the ground stop had been lifted. In a statement, American Airlines said: "Systems have returned after a brief electrical issue at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Our teams worked quickly with the airport's electricians to resolve the issue, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience." They encouraged travelers to check their flights through the airline website or through the airline app. Dig deeper According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, 69 flights had been canceled at Philly International, the majority of those being American or its partner airlines. Additionally, over 200 American Airlines, or its subsidiaries, experienced delays. Severe weather from Friday was also thought to be a contributing factor to some delays as airlines work to get back to their normal schedules. FlightAware lists a total of 249 delays and 69 cancellations by late afternoon Saturday.
