Trump shuts down NBC reporter as 'discredited' at Kennedy Center presser

President Donald Trump waved off an NBC reporter for being part of a "discredited" network while taking questions on Monday. After taking a tour and attending his first board meeting at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Trump announced the upcoming release of around 80,000 unredacted files on the JFK assassination. Trump then took questions from members of the press, including one reporter who asked him whether he had ever used an "autopen" signature like predecessor Joe Biden. Trump Tells Cnn Reporter 'Nobody Watches' Her Network Because It Has 'No Credibility' "Only for very unimportant papers," Trump answered. "And I don't call them unimportant if you do letters where people write in, and they'd love to have a response. We'll write responses, and I'll sign them whenever I can. But when I can't, I would use an autopen. But to use them for what [the Biden administration] used them for is terrible." When the reporter tried to speak again, Trump interrupted, asking, "Who are you with?" Read On The Fox News App "Sir, I'm with NBC," the reporter responded. "The same one? I don't want to talk to NBC anymore. I think you're so discredited," Trump remarked, waving the reporter off before taking another question. Trump has called out reporters in the past, sometimes to their faces during press conferences. On March 7, he attacked NBC News' Gabe Gutierrez at the White House for asking about an alleged "clash" between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk. Click Here For More Coverage Of Media And Culture "No clash. I was there — you're just a troublemaker," Trump said. "And you're not supposed to be asking that question, because we're talking about the World Cup." "Elon gets along great with Marco, and they're both doing a fantastic job. There is no clash," Trump added. As Gutierrez continued speaking, Trump asked which outlet he was with. "NBC," Gutierrez said. "Ugh, no wonder," Trump said, turning away. "That's enough."Original article source: Trump shuts down NBC reporter as 'discredited' at Kennedy Center presser

JD Vance and wife booed by Kennedy Center concertgoers

A loud chorus of boos greeted Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, when they arrived to attend a National Symphony Orchestra performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Curse words and other unpleasantries can be heard on video as the Republican politician enters the Washington, D.C. cultural institution Thursday night. Vance waves as one audience member shouts 'You ruined this place!,' according to The Guardian. The concert reportedly began 25 minutes late as security prepared for the vice president's visit. Several artists have canceled their Kennedy Center performances since Donald Trump took over the arts institution and moved to reshape it in his image. That has included terminating many of its longstanding bipartisan board members and installing his own, including Usha Vance, country singer Lee Greenwood and Fox News personalities. Those newly appointed board members then 'unanimously elected' Trump as Kennedy Center chairman. Last week, the Kennedy Center released a long list of shows that had been canceled either by the artists involved or due to a lack of ticket sales. Perhaps most notable was the cancellation of the award-winning musical 'Hamilton.' 'Given these recent actions, our show simply cannot, in good conscience, participate and be a part of this new culture that is being imposed on the Kennedy Center,' said the show's lead producer Jeffrey Seller. Kennedy Center interim President Richard Grenell, Trump's longtime foreign policy adviser, said the Vances' Thursday night greeting represented an unacceptable attitude of intolerance. 'We must do better,' he wrote on social media. 'We must welcome EVERYONE.'

WASHINGTON − Vice President JD Vance received a roaring chorus of boos and jeers while attending a National Symphony Orchestra performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Thursday. Loud boos broke out in the audience as Vance took his seat in the box tier next to his wife, Usha Vance, for the symphony's performance of Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 2 and Stravinsky's "Petrushka." The vice president could be seen in videos smiling and waving amid the noise. Shouts of 'you ruined this place!' could also be heard among the boos, The Guardian reported. The symphony's performance was delayed about 20 minutes because of Secret Service security measures, the New York Times reported. Vance's less-than-welcome reception comes after his boss, President Donald Trump, launched a major overhaul of the cultural center's leadership. Last month, Trump removed multiple board members (prompting others to leave voluntarily) and replaced them with allies and Cabinet members. Trump also announced a new chairman for the Kennedy Center board: himself. The president made the decision, he explained on social media at the time, after the center hosted drag show performances at its venue last year. What's the buzz?! Multiple stars and artists have denounced the new administration's takeover, some opting to pull upcoming performances at the center off the calendar. Usha Vance is among the new Kennedy Center board members, along with Trump's Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
