Motorola Razr 2025+ review
Razrs aplenty, more so in the US than anywhere else. The Razr+ 2025 is another entry in the Motorola clamshell foldable lineup, a middle ground between the vanilla model and the high-end Ultra. Razr+ 2025 (left) next to Razr 2025 This particular model is seemingly a US-exclusive - not even Motorola Canada appears to be selling it. Both the US and Canada are getting the plain Razr 2025 and the Razr 2025 Ultra, so there's no shortage of North American Razrs. This year, there's no direct international counterpart to this Razr+ - the non-plus and the Ultra have their Razr 60 alter egos. Motorola Razr+ 2025 • Motorola Razr 2025 • Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 That said, it's worth keeping in mind that the Razr+ 2025 is in many ways the same phone as the Razr+ 2024, which, in turn, is the North American version of the Razr 50 Ultra (reviewed here). We'll be coming back to these comparisons along the way, as well as when we get to decision-making time. Motorola Razr+ 2025 • Motorola Razr+ 2024 • Motorola Razr 50 Ultra As the middle option in the roster, the Razr+ 2025 has a beefier chipset than the vanilla model, but not the current flagship Snapdragon that the Ultra gets. Another inbetween solution can be seen in the displays - main one is almost like on the vanilla model, the cover one is the same as on the Ultra. The camera system is another area where the plus is bridging the gap, relying on the same main camera as the Razr 2025, but paired with a telephoto instead of an ultrawide - the Ultra makes do without a zoom camera, but features nicer main and ultrawide modules. There's a minor upgrade in the ingress protection, same move to IP48 that we saw on the Razr 2025. However, there's no change to battery capacity, unfortunately. It's a graphite-colored cardboard package with not a whole lot inside. There's no charger, but you do get a USB-C cable, and it's an e-Mark-ed 5A-capable one, unlike the plain 3A cable of the Razr 2025. The Razr+ 2025's bundle doesn't include any form of protection, which was also our experience with the non-plus. North American models seem to be treated this way, while the rest of the world typically gets two-piece snap-on covers. Page 2

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 makes the Fold 6 look ancient
The hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is almost here — with a rumored launch set for July — and the leaks just keep on coming. We basically know everything about the phone, from the specs to the size, but no one's seen it next to its predecessor: the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Until now, that is. Thanks to a tech-focused Korean YouTube channel, we now have our first look at a realistic dummy of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 next to a Fold 6. And, let me tell you, the Fold 6 looks positively ancient compared to its successor. A look at a dummy unit of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 . | Video credit — The Sinza Samsung has made strides in foldable innovation, relatively speaking, and the Fold 7 is both larger and slimmer than the Fold 6. It's hard to believe that this happened in just one generation leap, but the Fold 7 is only 4.5 mm thin when unfolded, compared to the Fold 6 which measures at 5.6 mm. To put that into perspective, the Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8 mm thick, and that's a phone whose main selling point is its slim form factor. Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks like a worthy upgrade to the Fold 6. | Image credit — The Sinza When folded, the Fold 7 measures at 9 mm, compared to the 12.1 mm of the Fold 6. The Fold 7 will also have a main display of around 8.2 inches, while the Fold 6 was 7.6 inches across. Samsung has also promised the 'lightest' Galaxy foldable smartphone yet, so it's confirmed that the Fold 7 will weigh less than its the dummy unit also shows off what the punch hole camera will look like on the main display. Samsung is ditching the under-display camera and instead replacing it with a traditional punch hole on the Fold 7, possibly to improve photo quality. That might not be the most popular change, but hopefully Samsung will go back to an under-display camera in 2027. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE. | Image credit — Flossy Carter There was a special model of the Fold 6, called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE, that saw a very limited release. It was mostly made to compete against domestic offerings in the Chinese market, which had left the traditional Fold 6 behind in terms of hardware. What's curious is that the Fold 7 resembles the Fold 6 SE quite heavily. For starters, the display is the same size as the Fold 6 SE. However, due to ever so slightly thinner bezels, you'll get around 0.2 mm more screen real estate. Hardly noticeable, despite being a big jump from the base model Fold 6. Furthermore, the aforementioned punch hole replacement for the under-display camera on the main screen was also first seen on the Fold 6 SE. Even the thickness is only marginally better: the Fold 6 SE was 4.9 mm and 10.6 mm when folded and unfolded respectively. Naturally, the Fold 7 will be powered by the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same processor that is found across the entire Galaxy S25 series. However, for people who were able to purchase a Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE, the Fold 7 will not be a noticeable upgrade, as far as I can tell. Compared to alternatives like the Oppo Find N5, the Fold 6 looks very outdated and bulky. The Fold 7 is Samsung's way of catching up with the competition in more than one aspect. If you want the seven years of software support that Samsung provides, and are okay with sacrificing a negligible amount of slimness, then the Fold 7 is for you. I think this will easily be one of the best foldables of 2025. For a smaller device, you can opt for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 instead. It may be powered by the Exynos 2500 in some markets, however, so that might be a dealbreaker for you. And, if you've always wanted to try out foldables but considered them too expensive, you'll have the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. After years of rumors, it's looking more and more likely that an FE Galaxy foldable is going to be a reality this year. Or, you might just want to wait till next year for the foldable iPhone to come out, barring any unforeseen complications. Though I'd wager that Apple's take on a foldable is going to cost a pretty penny. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! This Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy puts its ultra-thin design into perspective
TL;DR A new YouTube video shows a Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy model based on leaks and rumors, giving our best look yet at the expected design. The video shows the foldable's slim profile, with side-by-side comparisons showing how much thinner it is than the Fold 6. The dummy also illustrates the switch to a punch-hole camera and a larger outer display. We're just weeks away from Samsung's next Unpacked event, but a new mockup is offering our clearest look yet at what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 physically. A TheSINZA YouTube video, shared on X by tipster Tarun Vats, gives us a close-up of a physical dummy unit of the foldable. To be clear, this isn't an official Samsung product. As the video notes, the dummy model was made in China and is based on publicly available rumors and renders. Still, it aligns with recent leaks we've seen, including the switch from an under-display camera to a punch-hole, a larger cover screen, and Samsung's focus on shedding both thickness and weight this generation. The Z Fold 7 dummy clocks in at just 9mm thick when folded, noticeably slimmer than the 12.1mm Fold 6 when compared in the video. When unfolded, it's said to be around 4.5mm thick, aligning with the rumored thickness. There's also a 6.5-inch outer screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which would make it more comfortable for one-handed use than earlier Folds. The video also cites a rumored weight of just 215g, which would make it lighter than both the Fold 6 (239g) and even the Galaxy S25 Ultra (218g). However, this looks to be speculation on the creator's part, as we have not spotted any leaks revealing this figure. Internally, the video lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy as the processor. That matches recent FCC filings, which also point to the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7, ultra-wideband, and wireless/reverse wireless charging. Samsung has described the Fold 7 as its 'thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable yet.' If this dummy model is a relatively accurate depiction of the final hardware, we're excited to get our hands on it. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . Is This the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra 5G Final Design? What Leaks Suggest
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra 5G is set to redefine the foldable smartphone landscape, combining advanced technology with a sleek, functional design. Scheduled for release in July 2024, this highly anticipated device is expected to deliver a seamless blend of innovation and practicality. However, recent leaks have sparked discussions about its design, particularly the prominent rear camera bump, which could influence its otherwise slim and elegant profile. The video below from Miror Pro gives us more details on the leaked design. Watch this video on YouTube. Breaking New Ground with a Slimmer Design Samsung continues to push the boundaries of foldable phone design with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Measuring just 9 mm thick when folded and an impressive 4.5 mm when unfolded, it is poised to become the slimmest book-style foldable in Samsung's portfolio. This remarkable achievement is made possible by a reengineered hinge mechanism, which is a cornerstone of the device's design. The redesigned hinge not only reduces the phone's overall bulk but also enhances its durability and usability. It ensures smoother transitions between smartphone and tablet modes, catering to users who prioritize portability without compromising on screen size. For professionals and multitaskers, this innovation offers a practical solution for on-the-go productivity. The Galaxy Z Fold 7's lightweight build and refined engineering make it a standout choice for those seeking a balance between form and function. Triple Camera System: A Double-Edged Sword The Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a triple rear camera system housed within a prominent camera island. While this setup is expected to deliver exceptional imaging capabilities, its design has sparked mixed reactions. The noticeable camera bump, while functional, may detract from the device's ultra-slim aesthetic and could affect its ergonomics, particularly when placed on flat surfaces. Despite these concerns, the camera system is anticipated to excel in several key areas: High-resolution imaging for capturing detailed photos and videos for capturing detailed photos and videos Advanced zoom capabilities for distant subjects for distant subjects Improved low-light performance for enhanced night photography For photography enthusiasts and professionals, these features could make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 a compelling option. The device's ability to deliver high-quality visuals may outweigh concerns about its physical design, particularly for users who prioritize camera performance. 5G Connectivity and High-Performance Hardware The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is designed to use the full potential of 5G technology, offering ultra-fast connectivity for a wide range of applications. Whether streaming high-definition content, engaging in online gaming, or multitasking across apps, the device promises a seamless and responsive experience. This commitment to innovative connectivity ensures that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 remains relevant in an increasingly connected digital landscape. Under the hood, the phone is expected to feature a powerful processor paired with ample RAM, allowing it to handle demanding tasks with ease. This combination of hardware ensures smooth performance, whether you're working remotely, editing videos, or enjoying immersive multimedia content. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is built to cater to users who demand both speed and efficiency from their devices. Anticipated Launch and Market Impact Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at its Unpacked event in July 2024, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This event will likely serve as a platform to showcase Samsung's latest advancements in foldable technology, reinforcing its position as a leader in the market. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be a flagship offering, representing the pinnacle of Samsung's innovation in the foldable smartphone segment. For consumers, the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 presents an opportunity to explore the next generation of foldable devices. Its combination of a slim profile, advanced hinge mechanism, and high-performance hardware positions it as a strong contender in the premium smartphone market. However, the device's design choices, particularly the camera bump, may influence its reception among users who prioritize aesthetics and ergonomics. Balancing Innovation and Practicality The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra 5G represents a bold step forward in the evolution of foldable smartphones. Its slim design, enhanced hinge mechanism, and powerful camera system highlight Samsung's dedication to innovation and user experience. However, the prominent camera bump introduces a potential trade-off, raising questions about the device's overall practicality and appeal. As the July 2024 launch approaches, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will undoubtedly attract significant attention. Whether it successfully balances innovative features with user-friendly design remains to be seen. For now, it stands as a testament to the possibilities of foldable technology, offering a glimpse into the future of smartphones and the evolving needs of modern users. New images of ‘world's thinnest foldable' show what the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is up against
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will face stiff competition when it arrives next month as we get a better look at the Honor Magic V5, with official images of the soon-to-be world's thinnest foldable phone. The battle for the best folding phone of the year is intensifying. We've already had the Motorola Razr 2025, Razr Ultra, and the super slender Oppo Find N5, but things are reaching fever pitch with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 expected to arrive in the coming weeks. Recommended Videos But that's not before the Honor Magic V5 arrives on the scene on July 2. Honor has already confirmed the V5 will be the world's thinnest foldable, nabbing the crown from the Find N5, and the images posted to its Weibo account give us a closer look at its svelte side profile. There is one elephant in the room when looking at these images though, the camera bump. Don't expect Honor to be taking into account this sizable protrusion when it talks millimetres come the launch on July 2. It's highly likely we'll be given the dimensions of the thinnest part of the handset. While that may feel a little disingenuous, it's common practice for smartphone manufacturers to take the thinnest part of their products when flaunting these impressive specs. So while the Magic V5 will be chunkier than the advertised thickness around the camera, it's still set to be a foldable with head-turning attraction. Game on Honor isn't the only one hyping up its upcoming foldable, as Samsung has been heavily teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in recent weeks as well. Samsung is billing is upcoming handset as its 'thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet', with rumors suggesting it has a significant design overhaul in the works. Its current foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, is portly in comparison to the competition from Honor, Oppo, and Google – measuring 12.1mm folded. To be the world's thinnest foldable, the Honor Magic V5 will need to be under 8.9mm (the thickness of the Find N5). We've seen reports from SamMobile and Android Headlines suggesting Samsung could get the thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 down to around 9mm, which would be a marked improvement. And while the Magic V5 might be thinner, it's unlikely to be available in the US – giving Samsung a clear shot at winning over foldable fans. Via Android Authority
