Illy CEO Sees Coffee Extending Slide on Ample Supply Projections
Italian roaster Illycaffe SpA expects the cost of coffee beans to continue to fall, helping to shield customers from further hikes following a run-up in prices. The family-owned firm, known for the high-end espresso it sells in silver-and-red tins, raised prices twice this year after supply fears drove up the cost of arabica. The beans are now trading only slightly above levels seen at the start of the year, amid strong production forecasts.

This Smart Milk Frother Is Like Having A Mini Barista In Your Kitchen
Back in my barista days, I used to indulge in the luxury of making myself handcrafted espresso drinks whenever I wanted. I would experiment with different flavors and add-ins like cold foam and cocoa, relishing the perk of the job (and getting way too caffeinated in the process). Since my work habits have shifted from standing behind the bar to sitting in a home office, I've chased that same convenient gratification. It wasn't until I got the Dreo All-in-1 BaristaMaker Milk Frother that I've been able to relive the joy of delicious, frothy drinks whenever the craving strikes. The Dreo milk frother is intuitive, hands-off and compact. Before I got the Dreo BaristaMaker, I was saving cappuccino and matcha latte indulgences for coffee shop trips. I don't own an espresso machine (just a few trusty moka pots), so I had no tools for effectively frothing milk. I was gifted a handheld milk frother, but those require preheating (for hot drinks) and often yield inconsistent results. But the BaristaMaker is a game changer: It's much more effective, with the ability to achieve professional-grade microfoam (think: a silky texture, not dry and bubbly), even with non-dairy milks. It also heats, mixes and froths in one machine. No barista skills required. Amazon The BaristaMaker is designed with an electric base and a stainless steel jug that can be removed for easy cleaning. It comes with two frother attachments: an impeller for creating microfoam and a disc tip for mixing powder-based drinks like hot chocolate and matcha. The LED control panel allows you to choose among five different foam types—ranging in temperature and texture—and six different milk types. Once you make your selections, the machine automatically adjusts its settings to deliver the appropriate results. Each drink I've made with the BaristaMaker—whether it was a hot matcha latte (sans lumps of unmixed powder), a creamy oat milk flat white or an iced coffee with cold foam—has been an effortless success. Cleanup is also a breeze afterward, thanks to the stainless steel jug that can be quickly rinsed or tossed in the dishwasher. And the build is relatively small, so it's easy to tuck away in a cabinet between uses. All of that said, this machine isn't totally flawless. I've found that making multiple drinks at a time can sometimes yield less consistent results. When I made two lattes for my husband and me at the same time, for example, the frothy almond milk quality I was used to fell flat—literally. It might be better to stick to single servings at a time, which take a couple of minutes per cycle. Although this machine doesn't have all the benefits of a professional barista bar (you'll still have to brew your coffee elsewhere), it gets you much closer to enjoying café-style beverages without leaving the house. I'll continue to reap its benefits—in tandem with my moka pot, matcha powder or iced coffee—to indulge in professional-style beverages at the flip of a switch, just like the good ol' days.

Father's Day Deal: Get My Favorite Coffee and Espresso System for Free
I consider myself quite the coffee savant. One doesn't simply drink four to five cups a day and have a Lorelai Gilmore-esque need for coffee without becoming a savant. When I was an undergraduate student, I bought coffee at the on-campus cafe daily. And whenever I travel, discovering the best coffeehouse is at the top of my to-do list. Needless to say, I've had my fair share of coffee shop experiences -- and yet, I now prefer to drink coffee at home. The main reason for this change is the L'Or Barista coffee and espresso system, which is currently free when you order $79 worth of coffee capsules. L'Or is running several other promotions on its coffee and systems, such as 10% capsule orders, so take advantage before these deals disappear soon. Plus, you can grab the L'Or system and frother bundle for $50 off in all colors. I bought my mom this system for Christmas and we've both become L'Or evangelists. With this deal, it's not a bad time to gift your caffeine-loving dad (or yourself -- I won't judge) my all-time favorite coffee and espresso system just in time for Father's Day. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. Why I love my L'Or Barista The Pumpkin Spice capsules are my go-to in the fall, but the iced coffee capsules are my favorite during the summer months. Macy Meyer/CNET Every morning, I wake up giddy to make my coffee. The Onyx Espresso capsules are my consistent go-to when I make my favorite salted maple iced lattes, which are perfect for warm, summer mornings, but I'm also a huge fan of the iced coffee capsules. Since I've perfected my morning caffeine routine with the L'Or Barista, I no longer feel any need to buy coffee out. In fact, I prefer making my coffee and espresso drinks at home since I can use my machine to tailor them to my mood on that given morning. I also love how quickly the machine heats up -- a flat 25 seconds to be exact. Nothing feels worse than waiting and waiting for a coffee machine to turn on, heat up and brew up a batch of java. Mere minutes can feel like an eternity when I'm exhausted and desperate for the energy that first cup of caffeine brings me. What comes with the system? The L'Or Barista is a single-serve machine that uses high-pressure brewing to make both coffee and espresso beverages at home. The system can brew six different sizes of hot or iced coffee, as well as espresso. The sleek machine, which is compact enough to fit on a kitchen counter, is a highlight, but the capsules are also an exciting treat. Since you'll need to spend $79 or more for a free system, you can opt to taste a variety of capsule flavors. I've tried the caramel, hazelnut and Le Tigre coffee capsules and numerous espresso options -- it's genuinely hard to pick a favorite. Why this makes a great gift At its discounted price tag (usually $199), the L'Or Barista would be a great gift for any coffee connoisseur in your life. In fact, my mom tried mine, became obsessed, and would subtly bring it up until I finally bought her one for Christmas. The current sale would provide the perfect opportunity to get some key Father's Day or graduation shopping done (wink, wink). Basically, this system comes with everything you need for a complete at home barista experience, while taking any hassle out of the process.
