MasterChef Australia contestant reveals why she's GLAD to have been kicked off show in latest elimination
Contestants are normally devastated to be kicked off MasterChef Australia. But during Sunday night's elimination on the Back To Win season, Samira El Khafir revealed she was happy to go home. The chef made eggplant chicken kofta but her dry meat let her down and led to her being sent home. After the news was broken that she was heading home, Samira found a silver lining. 'Thank you. No, this is good. It's my husband's birthday today' she quipped to laughter from her co-stars. 'This will honestly make his night, knowing I'm back to cook for him' she added. Samira went on to say that coming back to the show was a wonderful experience for her. 'Don't quit at anything. And you know, the world is massive. So there's just so much we can do. I loved every moment of it' she said of what she learned. 'I am feeling so happy and so blessed that I actually had this opportunity to come back' she added. 'I appreciate everything. I am super proud of myself. To be a mum of four and to pause work life to come join MasterChef again for the second time. 'It was so beautiful. I'm super proud of how far I've come.' Last week, fan favourite Darrsh Clarke made his heartbreaking farewell after his dessert failed to impress the judges. Darrsh, who won a reputation on the show as the 'dessert king' served up a sweet Choux Tower, which features a Orange Blossom Crème Pâtissière and a Pistachio Praline. Unfortunately for Darrsh he went wrong with using too many eggs, and he ended up burning the Choux pastry. 'Meeting all of these amazing people, it's been very inspiring to be around, and I think just having that energy to be around you really motivates you and I'm really excited for what's next,' he said before making his sad exit from the kitchen. First appearing on the cooking competition in 2024, when he placed sixth, the self-taught foodie appeared determined to follow his dream. 'I'm definitely going to use this experience to change my life going forward,' he continued. The Sunday prior saw Tim Bone sent home when his underdone duck failed to wow the judges in the butter challenge. A pressure test called for the chefs to create a dish that 'celebrated butter' in 75 minutes. 'My heart definitely sank,' the Ballarat chef told Ten after he departed the cooking competition. 'I think I bit off more than I could chew trying to get a beautiful fall-off-the-bone confit duck in 75 minutes, but that's the world we live in, it's a pressure-cooker of an environment, and you never know when your time is up' he continued.

MasterChef Australia: Back To Win has lost another cook after a butter challenge left a lot to be desired on Sunday night. A pressure test called for the chefs to create a dish that 'celebrated butter' in 75 minutes. Unfortunately, Tim Bone's dish fell short when his underdone duck failed to wow the judges, and it led to his elimination. The host of Good Chef Bad Chef said that despite being kicked off the series he was happy with what he had achieved. 'I still walked out with my head held high. I was proud of what I was able to achieve in the competition,' he said. It comes after contestant Rue Mupedzi set herself up for a huge career in the culinary world after her shock elimination from the Back to Win season on Tuesday. Instead of hanging up her apron for good, the 29-year-old dental hygienist is planning on becoming a pastry chef. Rue, who is known as the 'dessert queen' by fans, announced she plans to head to Europe to pursue her dream as soon as possible. 'My vision board is to go to France and gain work experience in the pastry world for six months to a year, as well as explore Europe,' she said in a new interview with Yahoo Lifestyle on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Tim's dish fell short when his underdone duck failed to wow the judges, and it led to his elimination Rue returned to MasterChef after her headline making appearance on the show in 2023. She suffered the heartache of a second MasterChef Australia elimination last week after a tricky pudding failed to impress the judges. In tears, Rue told the judges that it had been an honour cooking for them and being on the show for a second time around. 'Just being called back among such amazing chefs made me realise I'm also part of the great people,' she shared. Jean-Christophe Novelli sang high praises of the contestant and her presence on the show. 'You are unique, you've got the most amazing spirit and, for me, I believe you are a ray of sunshine in any kitchen,' he told Rue in a heartfelt speech. Speaking of her final cook with 10Play, Season 15's Rue was left disappointed after being eliminated in a challenge she considered to be her bread and butter. 'I really felt like this was a cook that I was supposed to shine in, and I didn't,' Rue said. 'I had done all these elements over a thousand times, and somehow that didn't show. You couldn't see that on the plate.'

MasterChef Australia fans notice bizarre detail in the show after fan favourite's heartbreaking elimination
Fan favourite Rue Mupedzi ended her MasterChef Australia Back to Win season with a heartbreaking elimination this week. But according to one eagle-eyed viewer, the 'dessert queen' had more than her fair share of screen time before hanging up her apron. The dedicated fan, who shared his findings on Reddit, noticed that it has been Rue who has been featured in the confessional spots 71 times over the last five weeks. Featured throughout each show, the short segments have contestants sharing their feelings about each challenge as the action in the kitchen unfolds. And according to one fan, Rue has been featured 71 times in the 'confessional'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The viewer also calculated and ranked each one of the other contestants over the last five weeks including the remaining players. Coming in behind Rue with 56 appearances in the confessional was Ben Macdonald, followed by Laura Sharrad on 50. Audra Morrice and Callum Hann scored 48, according to the enterprising fan, while Sneznana Calic has appeared 44 times in the confessional. Sharing their findings to Reddit with a chart showing the name of the contestant and how many times they appeared in confessionals the user's share sparked online commentary about Rue's appearance on the show. 'Rue got way more screen time, even after an episode, of all the remaining contestants,' commented one viewer on the thread. Another joked, 'I won't be surprised if she remains in the top 10 despite not even making it through halfway through the competition. Queen!' It comes after Rue Mupedzi says she is setting herself up for a career in the culinary world after her shock elimination from the Back to Win season on Tuesday. The WA-based kitchen star said her long-term plans included opening her own pastry shop. Elsewhere, Rue opened up about her return to MasterChef after her headline making appearance on the show in 2023. 'I still wanted to work really hard and do well, but the most important thing to me was to have a good time,' she said. 'Coming back was like riding a bike. It felt like I never left! I integrated back into the kitchen so quickly.' Rue suffered the heartache of a second MasterChef Australia elimination this week after a tricky pudding failed to impress the judges. Rue, Tim, Audra and Sarah were tasked with remaking Variations of Sourdough and Strawberry with Elderflower and Balsamic dessert from restaurant's Blayne Bertoncello. In the end, it was the dessert queen herself who was sent home over her grainy crème pâtissière. In tears, Rue told the judges that it had been an honour cooking for them and being on the show for a second time around. 'Just being called back among such amazing chefs made me realise I'm also part of the great people,' she shared.
