Wynne Evans slams BBC again over ‘double standards' after Naga Munchetty is hauled in over sex jibe

WYNNE Evans has lashed out at the BBC again over its "double standards". The axed radio star commented on The Sun revealing BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty was hauled in over a sex jibe at Radio 5 Live. 2 Wynne shared today's front page of the newspaper detailing the programme's toxicity row, amid claims Naga was reprimanded by bosses over two incidents in three years — including allegations she bullied a junior staffer. Posting The Sun front page in a now-deleted post, Wynne said: "I really wish Naga well and I hope she doesn't get hounded. "But come on @bbc @bbccymruwales what double standards. "Tim Davie [Director-general of the BBC] promised to protect people on Strictly from being hounded by the press, but he won't even meet with me." Wynne recently sat down with The Sun's Clemmie Moodie to reveal his side of the story after losing his job following three allegations levelled against him. He accused the BBC of abandoning him in the wake of a series of controversies that erupted during and after his time on Strictly Come Dancing. The corporation said he was offered a dedicated contact at the BBC and was offered "continued" mental health support since his contract concluded. Director General Tim Davie issued an unprecedented apology, and vowed to clean the show up, after a formal complaint from actress Amanda Abbington into Giovanni Pernice's behaviour. A raft of ex-contestants then came forward with their own horror stories. Another dancer, Graziano Di Prima was then fired after a video emerged of him kicking his partner Zara McDermott. Naga is the first female presenter to be caught up in the series of scandals which have gripped the Beeb. She was reprimanded by a senior producer over the sex jibe, but no formal action was taken. As the BBC is now facing questions of double standards, an insider said: 'If a male presenter made a sexual comment like that or falsely accused someone of theft, he'd be out the door. But with Naga, it gets brushed off.' A BBC spokesperson said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.'

These Comics Highlight The Unfair Ways Society Views Moms Vs. Dads

It's 2025, and yet we still live in a world where parenting double standards abound. For heterosexual couples, dads are often celebrated for doing any run-of-the-mill parenting task while moms are expected to handle the bulk of them without so much as a pat on the back. Mary Catherine Starr — an artist, yoga teacher and mother of two based in Cape Cod, Massachusetts — is the woman behind the Instagram account @momlife_comics. Her 2022 post titled 'An Illustrated Guide To The Double Standards Of Parenting' highlights some of the major differences in how society views moms versus dads. The post struck a nerve on social media — in fact, it's quickly become her most popular post to date. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mary Catherine Starr (@momlife_comics) 'I'm tired of our society applauding dads for handling the most basic of parenting duties and expecting perfection from mothers,' the artist told HuffPost. The scenarios illustrated are based on Starr's own experiences as a mom in a world that sets the bar far lower for dads (even though they're just as capable). 'People have said lots of things to me that they would never say to my husband,' she said. 'For instance, once, when my daughter was young and I was pushing her in the stroller and looking down at my phone, a neighbor called out to me that I 'should pay attention to my daughter instead of my phone.' I know he never would have said that to my husband.' Another example: when people say a dad is 'babysitting,' but what he's actually doing is parenting his own child. 'People will ask moms, 'Who is watching your kids?' when they're traveling or out at night, but don't ask dads that,' Starr said. 'Moms are expected to stay home from work when their kids are sick, and dads aren't. And, in fact, often dads aren't given the same flexibility that moms are given when their kids are sick.' In the comments on Instagram, parents have been sharing their own observations about these kinds of double standards, lamenting how insulting and frustrating they can be. 'I was at my kids field trip and the teacher said, 'We are so glad the dads could get off work to come!' I'm thinking like.... ummmm, I work too lady,' one mom wrote. 'How about when dad dresses them oddly or inappropriately for the weather — hilarious. If mom did that, she's borderline negligent,' said another. Starr stressed that the purpose of these comics isn't to bash dads. It's to make us more aware of just how differently moms and dads are viewed when they're doing the exact same thing. 'My hope is that the more we talk about — and point out — these double standards, the more we can start to change the narrative,' she said. Love Island fans furious over ‘double standards' after Helena's raunchy sex confession

LOVE Island viewers have been left outraged over 'double standards' following Helena's raunchy sex confession. It comes after fans called for a "misogynistic" star to be axed after a series of derogatory comments. 5 5 5 In yesterday's episode, Helena admitted she previously had a threesome with two men. Meanwhile, Harry, who she is currently coupled with, discussed this with the other lads. It was during a boys' night away from the villa, where they were met by three bombshells. Those watching at home were not impressed and felt his remarks were unfair - while it came just a day after the pair snuck off to the Hideaway together to spend the night. Harry told the others - unaware Helena was listening from the villa: 'For me, with Helena, it's like, I don't know if she's just a good time girl. Like, as I know, the more I'm getting to know her, like… 'I'm having a good time, but I wanna have a long time. "What I'm learning about her lifestyle, and like, what she does, like, she goes out a lot. We had the conversations - you were all there. She had a threesome. 'I don't think that really worries me. Because like, I can guarantee I've done worse, sort of thing. But I think it did surprise me a little bit. 'What I'm learning about her lifestyle, and like, what she does, like, she goes out a lot. We had the conversations - you were all there. She had a threesome. 'I don't think that really worries me. Because like, I can guarantee I've done worse, sort of thing. But I think it did surprise me a little bit. 'It's not I wanted to take a step back or anything. It was just more like, okay, I need to learn more, just to figure out what she's gonna really be like.' Back in the villa, Helena raged: 'F**k me. Oh, my dirty laundry, is it?' Harry continued: 'But if she's still there, if she's still in that phase of her life where it's like, she wants to have a good time, then it might not be the right time for me and her.' One fan said: "Yayyyy double standards." Another remarked: "He didn't care about her background when they went to the hideaway." A third shared: "What's Harry's surname? Ah yes Double-Standard, my bad I forgot." While a fourth remarked: "Wow, the judgement of that boy when 'hes done worse' the putdown before the brag is wild! Must be from the insecurity of going thin in the front talking!" A fifth chimed in: "Hmm double standards eh one rule for a guy and one for the girl." Elsewhere, Helena chose to recouple with Harry - despite him expressing an interest in Shakira still. Love Island 2025 full lineup Harry Cooksley: A 30-year-old footballer with charm to spare. Far from European capitals and the ruins of the Gaza Strip, France's leader still found cause to criticize Israel. President Emmanuel Macron opened his keynote speech at a recent Asian security forum in Singapore with a warning about 'double standards' in international politics. European entreaties over the war in Ukraine and the need for global solidarity against Russia's invasion, he said, were hurt by the West's continued support of Israel's campaign against Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Shangri-La Dialogue: France's Macron warns credibility at stake if war condemnation inconsistent

French President Emmanuel Macron has warned of double standards in condemning conflicts, calling on world leaders to be consistent and form a coalition with a rules-based order in light of the ongoing wars around the world. During his keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD) on Friday night, Macron took swipes at Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Israel's hostilities in Gaza and China's aggression in the disputed waters of the South China Sea, pointing out that the 'big risk' was to forget the universal principles that connected all conflicts. The French president is the first European leader to deliver the keynote speech at the dialogue, widely considered as Asia's premier defence summit. The dialogue, now in its 22nd edition, is organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies and has participants from 47 countries including ministers, chiefs of defence forces and prominent academics. China did not send Defence Minister Dong Jun to the SLD, a departure from its practice in the past three years. Instead, a delegation from the National Defence University is in Singapore to attend the forum, which began on Friday and will last till Sunday. What would you do the day something happened in the Philippines?'
