Horror as teenage girl is 'sexually assaulted' while waiting at a village bus stop as man, 30, is arrested
A teenage girl was sexually assaulted while waiting at a bus stop, as police arrested a man in his 30s. The girl was allegedly approached by a man while she was waiting for a bus in the village of Longdowns near Penryn, Cornwall. Police said the man made inappropriate comments to one girl and put his arm around her. The man made lewd comments towards her and then sexually assaulted the victim, Devon and Cornwall Police said. After the victim escaped, the man approached two other young people. Police said the man made inappropriate comments to one girl and put his arm around her. A man in his 30s from the Penryn area has now been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and a breach of a criminal behaviour order. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: 'We are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault near Penryn. The girl was allegedly approached by a man while she was waiting for a bus in the village of Longdowns near Penryn 'Officers were notified following the incident which took place at the bus stop in Longdowns between 8am and 8.30am on Thursday 3 April. 'It was reported a teenage girl was waiting at the bus stop when she was approached by a male suspect. 'The suspect made lewd comments before sexually assaulting the victim.' A man in his 30s from the Penryn area has now been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and a breach of a criminal behaviour order. He has since been released on police bail, said the force. York shoplifter Christopher Bullivant jailed for order breach
A prolific shoplifter who was subject to North Yorkshire's first criminal behaviour order for retail theft has been jailed after being caught stealing Bullivant, 41, was sentenced to eight months in prison for breaching the order by entering convenience stores in York earlier this month and taking has a string of previous offences for shoplifting, which led to North Yorkshire Police applying for the offences reported by police in England and Wales rose by 23% to more than 492,000 in the year to September 2024, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). "As this result shows, the police and the courts do not tolerate orders being breached and they give us a quick and decisive way to deal with any criminals who don't follow them."
