Thursday's weather: Damaging waves in two provinces but fine and cool for rest of SA
Damaging waves, which may lead to disruptions in ports, are expected in parts of the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape; however, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), it will be fine and cool for most regions.

Damaging waves causing difficulty in navigation and the risk of coastal users being swept off rocks are expected along the coast between Saldanha Bay and Plettenberg Bay until Saturday morning.

Damaging waves causing localised disruptions to ports, harbours, and beachfront activities are expected along the coast between Plettenberg Bay and Port Alfred.

In the SAWS' colour-coded weather warning system, yellow indicates a moderate risk of impact that requires caution and awareness, while orange indicates that higher-risk impact is expected, requiring increased attention and preparation.
SAWS uses the numbers to indicate the likelihood of weather-based impacts occurring. Levels 2 and 6 are high, and Level 4 is low.

Very cold conditions with maximum temperatures of 10°C and below are expected in the interior of the Western Cape and the Namakwa district of the Northern Cape until Friday.
