LOOK: Former Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka shows of new Tampa Bay uniform
LOOK: Former Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka shows of new Tampa Bay uniform The Ohio State football program saw a whopping 14 players get selected in the 2025 NFL draft, with four of them hearing their names called in the first round. One of those first-rounders, and the first one off the board, was wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 19 overall pick. So yeah, from the Bucks to the Bucs, if you will. Emeka becomes the only former Ohio State player on the roster and adds to a wide receiver room in Tampa that might be the best in the NFL. Egbuka looked great in the Scarlet and Gray (who doesn't), but on Tuesday, we got our first look at him in the red and pewter of the Bucs as he posed for some media opportunities during the first day of mini-camp in Tampa. The all-time receptions leader in OSU history won't be wearing the No. 2 we saw him in while running crisp routes in Columbus, but will instead don the No. 9 in "Champa Bay." Here's a look at Egbuka in his new digs in Tampa. Hopefully, we'll see plenty of these scoreboard videos of him during the season this fall and winter. There will be plenty of former Ohio State players running around and doing special athletic moves on the football field in NFL stadiums this fall, and we'll be here to make note of many of those moments. BOOM! Ohio State football gains commitment from 4-star running back
BOOM! Ohio State football gains commitment from 4-star running back Blessed to be in this position, dreams to reality! First and foremost, I want to thank God for the countless blessings and guidance throughout this journey. I'm beyond grateful for the Delaware community, my coaches, the entire staff, my family, and especially my teammates, past… — Favour Akih (@FavourAkih) June 8, 2025 The Ohio State football program is deep in the throes of summer recruiting season with camps and contact taking place. It just finished off a big recruiting weekend, and the Buckeyes appear to have made a good impression with in-state, 4-star running back Favour Akih because he gave his pledge to the Scarlet and Gray on Sunday. Out of Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware, Ohio, Favour is a 4-star prospect ranked as the No. 166 overall prospect in the country and 14th running back recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Favour grew up an Ohio State fan and longed to play for the Buckeyes but went through with his official visits, eventually narrowing his list down to OSU, Miami (FL), and USC. He established a close relationship with the Buckeyes' coaches, most notably running backs coach Carlos Locklyn. It always felt like he would don the Scarlet and Gray, but he made it official finally on Sunday just a couple of days after his official visit to campus on Friday. Read More: Ohio State football 2026 recruiting class tracker Favour becomes the first running back commitment and 14th overall commitment in the 2026 class, one that is a consensus top-five group at the moment, right where Ohio State is used to being. The Buckeyes would love to land one of the big running back targets still out there and are in play for Savion Hiter and Derrek Cooper. As more recruiting news is made available, we'll have it for you here at Buckeyes Wire.

Ohio State lands another big man via the transfer portal from Baylor
Just a day after Jake Diebler shared an update on where the Ohio State basketball team is and is headed, the Buckeyes landed another key addition to the roster. 6-foot-10 center Joshua Ojianwuna has committed to wear the Scarlet and Gray for the upcoming season. Ojianwuna comes to Columbus via the transfer portal after spending three years with the Baylor Bears. While in Waco, the native Nigerian averaged 5.3 points during his time in Green and Gold. His most productive year came this past season, where he averaged 7.4 points per game on 77 percent shooting and added 6.4 rebounds while starting 23 games. He helped lead the Bears to a 20-15 record and a No. 9 seed in the NCAA tournament. Ojianwuan is a former four-star recruit and top 100 player. Ojianwuna joins 7-footer Christoph Tilly and Brandon Noel as the latest to join the Buckeyes via the portal. Ohio State needed to address its lack of size on the inside, and Diebler has kept his focus on that need to help the Bucks be able to handle the physical play of the Big Ten. Ojianwuna will have one year of eligibility left and should be a nice addition for the Buckeyes. Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle

CJ Stroud gives thoughts on Emeka Egbuka and other Ohio State teammates
Former Ohio State and current Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud knows a thing or two about what it takes to play in the NFL. The second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Stroud took the league by storm earning several Player of the Month awards, was a Pro Bowl selection, and was named the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. While he took a step back in year two, he is a well-respected professional even after just two years in the league. Stroud was recently asked about one of his former receivers at OSU, Emeka Egbuka, and his potential at the next level. As you might imagine, Stroud had nothing but glowing comments about his former teammate in Scarlet and Gray. Stroud and Egbuka only spent two years together but it didn't take long for the former Buckeye quarterback to see greatness. Even though Egbuka came to Ohio State as the No. 1 rated receiver in the nation coming out of high school, he didn't take anything for granted and was immediately one of the hardest workers on the team, a trait Stroud believes will ensure success in the NFL. Stroud also takes a few moments to reflect on many of his former teammates who will be playing on Sundays come next fall. It is interesting to see the bond that was formed in such a short time. This must be what they mean when they talk about the Brotherhood. Check out Stroud's comments below. The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday evening and will run through Saturday afternoon. At least 15 Buckeyes are projected to hear their names called over those three days as they will find out where they'll start their professional careers.
