Bharat Electronics shares in focus as Taiwan requests India's anti-drone D4 system

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 6, 2025, 09:42 IST Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) were in focus on Friday, trading slightly lower at ₹391.25, down 0.57% from the previous close of ₹393.50, following reports of Indian Defence Research Wing that Taiwan has formally requested the purchase of India's indigenously developed Drone Detect, Deter, and Destroy (D4) anti-drone system. According to sources cited by IDRW, the D4 system — developed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL and Zen Technologies — has drawn international attention after its successful deployment during Operation Sindoor. The system effectively neutralized Turkish-origin drones and loitering munitions used in cross-border drone attacks, establishing itself as a key component in India's counter-drone defence strategy. The D4 system combines soft-kill measures like RF jamming and GPS spoofing with hard-kill solutions including laser-based directed energy weapons (DEWs). Taiwan, which faces persistent drone incursions near its airbases and maritime zones amid tensions with China, sees this technology as a potential cornerstone of its air defence enhancement. Sources suggest that Taiwan is also exploring India's 30kW laser-based DEW developed by DRDO's CHESS lab in Hyderabad. Talks are reportedly underway for possible collaboration or technology transfer, though official confirmation from either side is pending. The request signals a potential shift in India's defence exports policy, as global interest in BEL-manufactured systems rises. BEL may scale up production to meet growing domestic and international demand. Call of Duty Warzone's June patch introduces multiple fixes

Image via Activision. After the highly anticipated Season 4 release, Call of Duty has now recently launched a new patch for several fixes in Warzone. Just a few days after Season 3, fans were already done with the season because of its alleged lackluster contents. However, that's not the case with Season 4 because it has already launched a huge array of brand new contents in the game, like a new POI in Verdansk, new maps like Fugitive 6v6, return of One in the Chamber game mode, and many more. But there have been several complaints regarding the persisting bugs and glitches in the game. Now, those have also been fixed. June patch in Call of Duty Warzone has fixed most of the issues Call of Duty Warzone players have been going through a lot of issues after the release of Season 4. For example, various crashes and stuttering issues were making fans' lives miserable. As a battle royale title, smooth gameplay is non-negotiable. But that wasn't the case with Warzone. There was even a bug that was allowing players to exploit even under the map. This way, players were taking unfair advantages of these spots and disrupting the whole gameplay. On the other hand, players were unable to get the deserving amount of Skill Rating after a Ranked match because of another glitch. The Search and Destroy game mode was clobbered with several bugs and glitches as well. In this game mode, the contract UI was not showing for the allies. Not only that, players have been losing certain functionalities if they were killed while planting a Search and Destroy contract bomb. There was a bug which led to displaying the bomb location indicator even after the Search and Destroy contract expired. That's actually a lot, but the good thing is that all of these issues have been resolved now, thanks to the June patch in Call of Duty Warzone. The new feature test which showed store content right up in the Loadout menus has also been removed as well. Players initially became hugely excited due to the contents coming with the Season 4 , but immediately became disappointed with bugs and glitches that the Season 4 update brought as well. However, this quick response from Raven shows how much the developers prioritise its fans. Read More: Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 roadmap and features explained

Get Styx Tickets Here Circling from Above marks the first Styx album since 2021 and boasts 13 tracks spanning 41 minutes. It features contributions from all seven members of the band, including founding guitarist/vocalist James 'JY' Young, guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw, original bassist Chuck Panozzo, longtime drummer Todd Sucherman, keyboardist/vocalist Lawrence Gowan, guitarist/vocalist Will Evankovich, and bassist Terry Gowan. The LP's first teaser, 'Build and Destroy,' sees the band settling into a groovy prog boogie that showcases an abundance of instrumentation and Styx's signature vocal harmonizing. Gowan, who sings leads on the track, elaborated on the recording in a press release, explaining that it came together in just a day and a half, late in the album sessions. 'That little melody, I kept singing 'Build and Destroy,'' Gowan said. 'Even though we don't sing over that part, I kept thinking that would be a good title. It's thematic. The melody feels like a little 'Star Trek' or 'Twilight Zone' thing — just a small tag that reinforces the title.' He added, 'We knew it was strong. Even though it was the second-to-last song we finished, it felt like a quick way into the album's overall theme.' Limited vinyl/CD copies are available for purchase via Styx's online store, ahead of the July 18th digital release. Stream 'Build and Destroy' and see the artwork and tracklist below.
