Rabdan Academy Launches the First Edition of the 'Inclusivity in Safety' Conference to Strengthen Community Emergency Response Resilience

Abu Dhabi – UAE – XX June 2025: Rabdan Academy, in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Interior, has announced the launch of the first edition of the 'Inclusivity in Safety' Conference, scheduled to take place on 16 June 2025, at the Academy's campus in Abu Dhabi, in a hybrid format (in-person and virtual). The conference coincides with the UAE's Year of Community 2025 and aligns with the nation's vision to foster inclusive social frameworks. It aims to enhance the readiness of the national emergency response system, while ensuring the integration of People of Determination (POD) in civil protection and community preparedness plans. The conference highlights several strategic and specialized themes, including: the role of first responders in assisting PODs during disasters and emergencies, presentations of advanced technological solutions and policing practices that promote inclusive community safety, field-based international experiences from leading law enforcement agencies, case studies and research papers addressing the challenges and opportunities of integrating PODs in public safety systems, victim rights and equity frameworks for PODs during emergency response, as well as Interactive simulation scenarios illustrating best practices in immediate and specialized response. The conference will also showcase smart technological innovations that support police officers and field caregivers—such as artificial intelligence, geolocation systems, and assistive communication devices—to facilitate safer and more accessible services for PODs under exceptional circumstances. H.E. Salem Al Saeedi, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, affirmed that the conference represents a strategic milestone reflecting the Academy's deep commitment to developing realistic and innovative solutions that ensure the inclusion of all societal segments in national response frameworks. 'Our joint work with the Ministry of Interior strengthens our ability to build a safer and more prepared environment, especially amid rising challenges. Al Marzouqi emphasized that the conference aims to highlight the critical roles PODs can play within national preparedness systems and promote a flexible, equitable environment in emergency situations. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi: UAE community built on sustainability
The event marked part of the national celebrations for the Year of Community 2025, declared by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Attendees and participation The lecture was attended by executive leaders from the Authority, including Her Excellency Moza Suhail Al Muhairi, and members of the Sharjah Consultative Council. A large number of employees from the Authority also participated. Three phases of the UAE's development journey Dr Al Nuaimi outlined the UAE's community development path in three main phases: 1 . Founding and construction (1970s–2000) This phase laid the groundwork for a unified, knowledge-based society, with major investments in education and healthcare. From 30 hospitals in 1975, the country now boasts over 5,000 health facilities. Similarly, schools expanded from 47 to more than 5,000 institutions. 2 . Empowerment and development (2000–2020) The UAE transitioned into a dynamic phase marked by projects like the Dubai Metro, Burj Khalifa, and Expo 2020. Community initiatives flourished, and smart technologies like telemedicine and e-learning took root. The UAE Genome Project and sustainability programs laid the groundwork for national resilience. 3 . Integrated sustainability (2020–2050) The current phase aims to deepen comprehensive sustainability across sectors. It focuses on clean energy, food and water security, and climate neutrality. Dr Al Nuaimi praised initiatives such as the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, which represents a major milestone in achieving energy diversification. Community motivation as a pillar of development Dr Al Nuaimi emphasised that community motivation—fueled by leadership and public engagement—is vital to sustainable development. He stated: "We are not just building projects; we are building a mindset and a culture based on contribution, belonging, and national pride." Poetic reflections and cultural dimension Adding a literary touch, Dr. Al Nuaimi recited patriotic poems that celebrated national values, the spirit of giving, and loyalty to the homeland—infusing the lecture with emotional and cultural depth. Exhibition honouring Sheikh Zayed's legacy On the sidelines, the Authority and the National Archives organized a documentary exhibition showcasing the efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in fostering national unity and sustainable development. Rare photographs highlighted defining moments from his journey of leadership and giving. Conclusion and appreciation The Authority concluded the event by thanking Dr Al Nuaimi for his inspiring and visionary lecture, which combined historical insight with forward-looking ideals. Industry mentorship and real-world learning The Young Media Leaders programme, developed in collaboration with International Media Investments (IMI), provided immersive training under prominent media figures such as Mohamed Al Hammadi, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Hattlan, Nayla Tueni, and others. Dana Alkatheeri from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi received the Creativity Award for her original musical composition The Founder's Legacy, which pays tribute to the environmental vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Visual Arts Award was presented to Abdulla Alneyadi of UAE University for his sculptural piece Eternal Gateways, which draws inspiration from traditional Emirati architecture to convey themes of unity and community. The Sustainability Design Award went to Tasneem Albaiti and Alreem Alameri from Zayed University for their innovative research project on creating paper from leaf waste, contributing to sustainable practices in design and environmental awareness. Longstanding partnerships Dr Karim El Solh, CEO of Gulf Capital, highlighted the 14-year partnership with ADMAF, noting its role in opening doors for young creatives. He reaffirmed the commitment to supporting youth through access to resources and platforms that turn passion into purpose. A vision for the future The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation of the UAE's dedication to cultivating a creative, informed, and innovative generation. Dubai puts people at heart of healthcare: Sharif
Dubai is shaping a healthcare ecosystem that places people at its heart – one that is innovative, inclusive, and deeply human-centred, said Dr Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). He attributed the remarkable progress of Dubai's health sector to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and the directives of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. These insights were shared during a media briefing hosted by the Government of Dubai Media Office as part of its 'Meet the CEO' series. The event was attended by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, along with a group of senior media leaders and editors-in-chief from leading UAE newspapers. Dr Amer Sharif highlighted healthcare progress in Dubai from its early beginnings in the 1940s, culminating in the creation of its first integrated academic health system under Law No. 13 (2021). He also noted the adoption of the Integrated Physician Practice model across all facilities to enhance patient safety, reduce wait times, and improve clinical care management, aligning with Dubai's vision and the Dubai Social Agenda 33 for a sustainable, human-centred system. Dr Sharif detailed Dubai Health's vision, mission, and strategic programmes to establish global benchmarks in evidence-based care. He introduced the 'Dubai Health' brand identity, drawing on Dubai's heritage and symbolised by arches welcoming all. The central arch signifies Care, flanked by Learning and Discovery, all underpinned by Giving. Dr Sharif reiterated Dubai Health's commitment to strengthening community partnerships by involving patients and the public in shaping healthcare services. Key initiatives include 'Dubai Health Majalis: Voice of the Community' and the Press Ganey programme, which captures insights across every stage of the patient journey to enhance care quality and patient experience. 19 May 2025 22:47 ADEN (WAM)The UAE's 'Make-A-Wish' Foundation announced the resumption of its humanitarian efforts in Yemen by fulfilling five wishes for children with cancer at Al-Sadaqah Hospital in Aden. A step that reflects the Foundation's unwavering commitment to continuing its noble mission despite besetting granted wishes included some of the latest electronic devices long dreamed of by the children, such as two smartphones, bringing them moments of joy and easing the burden of their Al-Zubaidi, CEO of the 'Make-A-Wish' Foundation, said: "With every wish we fulfill, we plant a new seed of hope in the hearts of children and their families. We have fulfilled 605 wishes in Yemen over the past years, and our return to grant more is a living embodiment of our deep belief that hope is not just a feeling—it is a healing energy that revives spirits and lights the paths of recovery in the darkest moments. In the Year of Community 2025, we renew our commitment to promoting these noble humanitarian values and transforming community support into a tangible reality that touches lives."
