Abu Dhabi is getting a luxurious new Bvlgari Resort & Mansions

We have plenty of hotels that are currently in the construction phase in Abu Dhabi, and we've just received word that a new agreement has been signed to open a Bvlgari Resort & Mansions in Abu Dhabi. The new upcoming megaproject, which bears the name of the popular Italian luxury brand, will be nestled on a private island, characterised by its horseshoe shape. It is scheduled to open in 2030. Here's what we know about the Bvlgari Resort & Mansions 3 of 12 The resort will boast 60 elegantly designed rooms and suites (including two Bvlgari Suites and a Bvlgari Penthouse) plus 30 villas, each with a private pool, offering views of the sea or the skyline. The island will also be home to 90 exceptional mansions of different sizes and with unique characteristics. Its design will seamlessly be a blend of Italian elegance and Arabian heritage. Guests who check in will get breathtaking views of the blue sea and the orange sunset on one side, while the other side boasts views of the stunning Qasr Al Watan and city skyline. Remember, sustainability is still very important to the UAE. So important that UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2023 and 2024 (that's two years in a row) to be the 'Year of Sustainability.' In keeping with this very important theme, the construction and design of the project will be compliant with the best sustainability practices. The vision? It's shaped by Abu Dhabi's rich cultural tapestry and will embody a symbolic metaphor of glass and gold emerging from the sand, bringing together the theme of luxury and Emirati heritage. Across the island as well, design elements will bring together dunes and gardens in harmony, further reflecting this theme. It will transition seamlessly from varied geometries to soft natural forms, echoing both Italian artistry and Arabian tradition. To get to the luxurious property, a bridge will be built, or you can also reach it by sea. During your stay, you can soak in the indulgence of the room and resort, or you will be able to partake in a number of marine activities and water sports. The activities will also allow guests to explore some of the region's most pristine beaches and islands. It will also be home to a range of luxury facilities for wellness and recreation, including an exquisite, purpose-built Bvlgari Spa, spanning across 2,000 square meters. For those seeking relaxation, a number of world-class and state-of-the-art wellness amenities will be available here. The spa will also feature a 25-meter-long lap pool, a large fitness center, and an outdoor deck with mesmerising views of the sea. The resort will also be a base for a state-of-the-art Yacht Club with its own private beach, exclusive membership program, and a 40-berth marina. On the dining front, some of the signature restaurants announced include Il Ristorante – Niko Romito serving contemporary Italian cuisine, an intimate and exclusive Japanese dining concept Hōseki, a refined Turkish restaurant – La Spiaggia, and Bvlgari Bar. For quick bites, there's Bvlgari's signature Il Caffè and casual Italian restaurant – Bvlgari Dolci boutique, which will offer Italian pastries. For shoppers, a concept store called La Galleria will showcase a wide selection of items from hand-picked local and international designers. Speaking on the project, Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari stated, 'This project is a tribute to Abu Dhabi's unique cultural identity, blending timeless sophistication with modern luxury.' NBA rumors: 76ers engage Spurs on trade for No. 2 pick

The post NBA rumors: 76ers engage Spurs on trade for No. 2 pick appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Philadelphia 76ers have engaged the San Antonio Spurs on a trade involving the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, according to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto. Nothing is imminent at this time, and Scotto reports the 76ers for now have 'zeroed in' on four prospects with the No. 3 pick. Advertisement The Sixers are in an interesting spot with the third pick, as noted by ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel in his latest mock draft. While Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper are the consensus top two prospects in this draft, there are legitimate questions about who's third. Harper's Rutgers teammate Ace Bailey has long been considered that guy, but Jake Fischer reported at The Stein Line this week that VJ Edgecombe could be Philadelphia's preferred option at No. 3. Fischer also confirmed Thursday the Spurs talks and the fact that the 76ers have four players in mind at No. 3. Edgecombe was recently in Philly for a workout, while Bailey has a workout scheduled. The Sixers reportedly aren't expected to use their pick to trade for a veteran and are predicted to land a young prospect high in this draft, whether that's at No. 3, No. 2 or further down. This report about a possible trade up is a bit out of nowhere. The presumptive pick would be Harper, but Philadelphia already has a young star point guard in place in Tyrese Maxey. Guard Jared McCain also showed star potential as a rookie before suffering a season-ending injury. But perhaps the Sixers really like Harper, or maybe they'd even look to trade up to No. 2 in order to trade that pick elsewhere for veteran help? While the current reporting says Philadelphia is expected to make a top pick, who knows what Daryl Morey has up his sleeve. Advertisement As for the Spurs, they also have high-profile guards in place in De'Aaron Fox and Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle. If San Antonio doesn't love the Harper fit, it could make some sense to trade down and get more assets while landing another top prospect. There has also been speculation about the Spurs trading the No. 2 pick for a proven star, but that would likely only be a Giannis Antetokounmpo scenario. Senate committee grills Hegseth on protests and the Middle East

Photo by Bonnie Cash/UPI | License Photo June 18 (UPI) -- Some members of the Senate Armed Forces Committee and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sparred over Los Angeles troop deployments and the Israel-Iran war during a hearing on Wednesday morning. Hegseth appeared before the committee to answer questions about the proposed $961.6 billion Fiscal Year 2026 defense budget, but the questioning quickly turned to current events. Sen. Elise Slotkin, D-Mich., said Hegseth deployed 4,700 military personnel to Los Angeles and asked if he had "authorized uniformed military to detain or arrest protesters" there. "You're not a protester if you are throwing concrete at law enforcement officers," Hegseth responded. Slotkin agreed "100%," and said, "Throw them in jail," before adding, "What you're doing is something different." She again asked if Hegseth gave an order for 4,000 National Guardsmen and 700 Marines to "detain or arrest" protesters in Los Angeles. Hegseth said his orders to the troops in Los Angeles are a matter of public record and they are there to protect law enforcement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents while they try to do their jobs. "If necessary, in their own self-defense, they could temporarily detain or hand over to ICE, but there's no arresting going on," Hegseth said. "You know this better than anyone," he told Slotkin and accused her of "playing political games." Slotkin also asked Hegseth if he had "given the order ... to be able to shoot at unarmed protesters in any way." Hegseth asked what basis Slotkin had to ask the question and what evidence she had to suggest such an order ever had been given. Slotkin cited a book written by former Defense Secretary Mark Esper in which Esper said he rejected a similar order by President Donald Trump in 2020. "Senator, I'd be careful what you read in books and believing it, except the Bible," Hegseth responded. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., chastised Hegseth for the troop deployments in Los Angeles and for discussing pending military strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen in Signal chats. "I wonder when you will actually focus on our nation's warfighting mission," Duckworth said. "We know that California is just a deliberate, systematic, political and dangerous campaign led by you." When Duckworth asked if Hegseth plans to remove troops from Los Angeles, he said he will respect a federal appellate court's decision allowing the deployments and not a district court judge's decision against them. Democratic Party Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire asked Hegseth if Trump had ordered him to create options for military strikes in the Middle East. Hegseth declined to answer Shaheen's question. "If I had or had not, I wouldn't disclose that in this forum, senator," Hegseth told Shaheen. Hegseth and Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., also exchanged barbs as the senator asked if he would fire a staffer who is accused of making anti-Semitic comments. Rosen cited comments attributed to Defense Department press secretary Kingsley Wilson. "Since I don't believe the characterization of many officials in the news media, I would need to see precisely what's being characterized," Hegseth responded. Hegseth said Wilson "does a fantastic job" and accused Rosen of engaging in hyperbole. Rosen then accused Hegseth of not being "serious" about "rooting out [and] fighting anti-Semitism within the ranks of the Department of Defense."
