June 19 (UPI) -- Bandai Namco announced it will host a showcase for video game series Little Nightmares on June 24. The Little Nightmares Showcase, scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT next Tuesday, will feature the latest news about the Little Nightmares franchise. As Switch 2 fans worry about price increases, Nintendo of America president isn't too reassuring as he admits tariffs make for "a very fluid situation"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. With tariffs, inflation, and memories of pandemic supply chain shortages still fresh in a lot of our minds, the question is: will the Nintendo Switch 2 remain at its current $450 price tag? The Switch 2's pre-orders were delayed in the US for a while due to the US tariffs imposed on much of the world. In particular, the high tariffs on China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, could affect the price of the Switch 2 as it's produced in these countries. Asked by IGN if Nintendo can commit to the Switch 2's current price into the future amid tariff uncertainties, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser says: "We made a commitment by announcing the pricing of both the single SKU [stock keeping unit] at $449 and then the bundled SKU with Mario Kart World at $499. And we really thought it was important that we established that price point, even after further tariffs were announced, to give consumers that comfort that they would be able to purchase at that price point." Recently, both the PS5 and Xbox Series have seen price increases, likely due to inflation and tariffs, so people are worried the Switch 2 could get more expensive before it even comes out. "Obviously, it's still a very fluid situation and it's difficult to determine what may be happening in the upcoming months or weeks," Bowser says. "But our commitment is to find ways within existing market conditions or changing market conditions to make our products, including Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, as obtainable as we possibly can." The Switch 2 is $150 more expensive than the original Switch was at launch, so it's already a much more costly console, but hopefully we won't see any more increases any time soon. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II releasing on PS5 with new features and enhancements this summer
Xbox Game Studios and developer Ninja Theory have announced that Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will launch for PlayStation 5 this summer. The PlayStation 5 version will arrive with several new features, including enhanced haptic feedback and optimization for PS5 Pro. These enhancements will also be rolled out as a free update for the existing Xbox Series and PC versions on the same day. Originally released for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on May 21, 2025, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Optimized for PlayStation 5, the new version aims to elevate immersion through detailed visuals, spatial sound, and tactile controller feedback. Players will experience Senua's inner and outer battles with a unique perspective shaped by her psychosis, which remains central to the storytelling. Key features of the game include visceral, narrative-driven combat, realistic landscapes based on 10th-century Iceland, and a deeply immersive cinematic presentation. The experience blends intense psychological themes with action and exploration. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II has earned praise from critics and has won multiple awards, including honors at The Game Awards and the 2025 BAFTA Games Awards. A new trailer showcasing the PS5 version is now available, offering fans a closer look at what to expect from this next-gen experience.

Microsoft Raising Xbox Prices—And $79.99 Games Are Next
The age of the $70 game may be coming to an end, as Microsoft has unveiled a new pricing structure for its games and hardware—one that also sees the Xbox Series line of consoles become more expensive. Microsoft is raising the prices of nearly its entire catalogue by a significant margin. In an announcement today, the company introduced a revised pricing structure that takes effect May 1, impacting Xbox Series consoles and accessories. The new structure includes a proposed $10 increase on software, adding more than 10 percent to the cost for consumers. However, this change to software pricing is scheduled to go into effect at a later date. Price hikes on Xbox hardware are being rolled out globally, with the exception of wireless headsets, which will only see increases in the U.S. and Canada. All price adjustments are listed in the chart below. (If an item is not listed, its price remains unchanged.) Item Old Price New Price Price Differential Xbox Series S 512GB Edition $299.99 $379.99 $80 Xbox Series S 1TB Edition $349.99 $429.99 $80 Xbox Series X Digital Edition $449.99 $549.99 $100 Xbox Series X $499.99 $599.99 $100 Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Edition $599.99 $729.99 $130 Xbox Wireless Controller – Limited Edition $79.99 $89.99 $10 Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) $139.99 $149.99 $10 Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Full) $179.99 $199.99 $20 Xbox Wireless Headset $109.99 $119.99 $10 The new pricing on Xbox consoles and peripherals is already live, according to the official Xbox announcement. Microsoft also stated: 'We also expect to adjust the pricing of some of our new, first-party games starting this holiday season to $79.99,' referencing Mario Kart World's confirmed $79.99 launch price for the Nintendo Switch 2, announced during the recent Nintendo Direct. Xbox issued the following statement on the new pricing: 'We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration given market conditions and the rising cost of development. Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and ensuring value for Xbox players.' While both Xbox and Nintendo have committed to increasing software prices, it remains to be seen whether Sony will follow suit.
