Cynthia Khalifeh Lands Next Film Role in Sci-Fi Thriller "White Mars"
Yara Sameh Lebanese actress Cynthia Khalifeh's next big-screen role promises to be one of her most intense yet. Her latest project, "White Mars", a sci-fi thriller from XYZ Films, has officially wrapped production after action-packed months of shooting in Rome. Lucy Hale ('Pretty Little Liars'), Luke Newton ('Bridgerton'), and Sabrina Dhowre Elba ('Three Thousand Years of Longing') round out the cast. Directed by Martin Owen (Above the Below) from a script by Matt Mitchell, Vicki Sargent, and Roo Berry, "White Mars" was shot in a virtual production environment at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome. Future Artists Entertainment's Matt Williams will produce the pic alongside Neil Jones with Steve Griffith and Steve Jelley from Singularity Entertainment. XYZ Films is co-financing, in conjunction with with Singularity, and is handling worldwide sales. 'White Mars' is the first feature to be announced for Singularity, an entertainment company 'specializing in virtual production and streamlined processes for independent films'. Set in an isolated Aquila Research Facility, 'White Mars' follows microbiologist Sammie (Hale) as she and Leo (Newton) fight to save their fellow crew members from a malevolent entity whose sole intention is to extinguish them all. 'It was an adventure. It was a different type of project for me, running around screaming, blood, guts, all the stuff. But it's gonna be very fun,' Hale said in a previous statement about the movie. The film will be the first full-length feature shot using volume stages, a tech update to green screen that uses light to create immersive 3D visual elements during the shooting process. 'So it was a different type of acting for me,' she said. 'I had to prepare a little differently. You had to bring something to life that wasn't necessarily there. So it was a challenge, but very fun.' Hale has described White Mars as 'an absolute psychological thrill ride'. "I'm so excited to film this at the Cinecittà film stages in Rome," she said in a statement, describing her character Sammie as 'the heart of this story'. 'I truly admire for her resilience and strength,' she said. "I can't wait to collaborate with Martin Owen, our incredible cast, and the entire team to bring this story to life." read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Here's A Side-By-Side Of The Cast Of "The Ritual" With The Real People The Movie's Based On
The Ritual is one of the most intriguing horror movies of the year. No other American possession film has ever had a backstory like this one because the real. Not all horror is fiction. As the film's opening suggests, the story is based on Joseph Steiger's transcribed events, making this one of the most well-documented exorcisms in American history. Here are the film's actors and the real-life people behind the main characters: Legendary actor Al Pacino portrays Father Theophilus Riesinger in "The Ritual." BYOHW (Bring Your Own Holy Water). The real-life Father Theophilus Riesinger was a German-American exorcist. It may seem odd that he isn't wearing the white collar like so many other famous priests and exorcists, but that's because, along with being a Roman Catholic priest, he was also a Capuchin friar. Pacino may have lacked that mighty beard, but he still brought the duds. Here they are side-by-side: XYZ Films, The Occult Museum / Via Actor Dan Stevens portrays Reverand Joesph Steiger. The real Reverand Joesph Steiger transcribed the events The Ritual is based on, so it only made sense that the narrative moved through him in the film. Stevens wears many hats in horror, but this was his first time donning a white collar. Here they are side-by-side: XYZ Films, The Occult Museum / Via Every possession film has the "possessed" character, a role played by Abigail Cowen. She portrays Emma Schmidt The real Emma Schmidt was known under the pseudonym Anna Ecklund. Her possession was alleged to have lasted for decades. Her case was so well-documented that it received a profile in the 1936 edition of TIME Magazine. The documented claims of what happened to this girl are truly the stuff that inspires every possession horror movie. Cowen's performance in The Ritual brings the terror to life on the big screen. Here they are side-by-side: XYZ Films, The Occult Museum / Via The Ritual hits theaters June 6. Check out the trailer before you experience the story based on America's most frightening exorcism.
