Severe Weather Halts Al Ahly vs Palmeiras at Club World Cup

H-Tayea The FIFA Club World Cup group-stage match between Egypt's Al Ahly and Brazil's Palmeiras was suspended in the 60th minute due to severe weather conditions at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The interruption came after an emergency alert from state police instructed stadium officials to evacuate parts of the venue and direct fans to seek shelter indoors. Spectators in open seating areas and on the pitch were asked to leave immediately and move to covered sections of the stadium. Officials emphasized avoiding crowding at entry points and instructed fans to use available space along concourses for a smoother evacuation. Event staff are currently assisting fans and guiding them to safe areas within the stadium. The match is part of Group A of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which also includes Inter Miami (USA) and FC Porto (Portugal). Al Ahly drew 0–0 with Inter Miami in their opening match, while Palmeiras and Porto also shared a goalless draw. Al Ahly and Palmeiras have met twice before in the Club World Cup. In 2020, Al Ahly won the bronze medal after defeating Palmeiras on penalties. The Brazilian side took revenge in the 2021 semifinal with a 2–0 win. Al Ahly's final group-stage match is scheduled for early Tuesday, June 24, against Porto. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Nearly 1.5 Million 2025 FCWC Tickets Sold, Says FIFA

Rana Atef On Tuesday, FIFA announced that 1.5 million tickets for the Club World Cup from over 130 countries were purchased. More than 60,000 turned up for the opener at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, which featured Inter Miami and Egypt's Al Ahly, while some 80,000 were in the Rose Bowl stands as Paris Saint-Germain beat Atlético Madrid 4-0 on Sunday. However, some matches were sparsely attended, as a 0-0 draw between Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense that kicked off midday on Tuesday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Chelsea Head Coach Enzo Maresca described the atmosphere at his team's game against LAFC as "a bit strange," as 22,000 spectators came to watch at the 71,000 capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday. "This is exactly what the FIFA Club World Cup was created for: a world-class stage where new stories are told, new heroes emerge, and club football fans feel part of something bigger," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement. FIFA hopes to build enthusiasm for the quadrennial spectacle among often soccer-ambivalent fans in the US, which will co-host the tournament next year with Canada and Mexico. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
