New MG Electric SUV Design Patent Leaked, Check Details
JSW MG Motor India has been working on diversifying its electric vehicle lineup for quite some time now. Also, the brand's Windsor EV has garnered impressive sales volume and has emerged as one of the top-selling EVs in the Indian market. The brand has also launched the Windsor EV Pro with a larger battery pack and features. Apart from its current EV lineup, MG is also looking forward to diversifying its portfolio. Recently, a leaked patent image shows that the British auto major is working on a new electric SUV. MG electric SUV design patent leaked JSW MG Motor's parent company, SAIC Motor, has filed the design patent for its upcoming electric car. The patent images suggest that the upcoming electric vehicle is going to be an SUV and resembles an enlarged version of the MG S5. The electric SUV's design patent shows a larger brand logo in the front, gets sleeker LED headlights, LED DRLs, countered closed-off grille at the front, and the creased bumper design adds to the premium outlook. The rear part of the MG mid-size SUV is equipped with elements like connected wrap-around LED tail lights, an extended roof spoiler, a sporty rear bumper, and a windshield wiper at the rear. Also, the premium design components of the MG electric SUV include conventional door handles, large alloy wheels, large window area, larger rear doors, and stylish faux roof rails. MG electric SUV, side profile The new MG electric SUV is said to be a ground-up MG vehicle and will be based on the brand's Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), previously seen in the Cyberster, MG 4, and others. MG Windsor EV Pro: Variant-Wise Features Explained
JSW MG Motor India recently launched the Windsor EV Pro in the Indian market. The electric car comes at a starting price of Rs 13.10 lakh (ex-showroom) with BaaS (Battery as a Service). It is an upgraded version of the Windsor EV already on sale in the country and comes with a larger battery pack along with an extended feature list. Beginning with the highlight, the MG Windsor Pro is fitted with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. This battery offers a claimed range of 449 km on a single charge, surpassing the 332 km range provided by the standard 38 kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the power specifications remain unchanged. It still features an electric motor that produces 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. This power is delivered to the front wheels to propel the vehicle forward. This is available in four trim levels: Excite, Exclusive, Essence, and Essence Pro. MG Windsor Excite The Excite serves as the base model of the Windsor EV and includes features like 17-inch steel wheels with covers, flush door handles, a glass antenna, a front armrest, fabric seats with a 60:40 rear seat split, LED luggage lighting, LED projector headlights with daytime running lights, LED tail lights, an illuminated front logo, rear AC vents, an LED front reading light. On the inside, the consumers get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, six audio speakers, controls mounted on the steering wheel, a 3.3kW portable charging cable, a 3.3kW home charging station, reclining rear seats, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, manual height adjustment for the driver's seat, cruise control, automatic climate control, and electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). Meanwhile, the list of safety features include six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), hill-start assist, hill descent control, LED cornering lights, disc brakes in both the front and rear, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and auto headlights. MG Windsor Exclusive The Exclusive variant is the mid-tier option and encompasses all the features found in the Excite. Furthermore, it includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with over-the-air updates, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, the MG App store, home-to-car functionality via JioFiber, a rearview monitor, a digital key, remote locking/unlocking capabilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, and leatherette upholstery. There are also features like 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a chrome beltline, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, smart flush door handles, power-folding ORVMs, a cup holder, a 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM), a wireless charging pad, multi-language voice commands, and valet mode. MG Windsor Essence The Essence is the premium variant, which includes all the features mentioned earlier. In addition, it offers ambient lighting, a PM2.5 air filter, an Infinity audio system with nine speakers, a 7.4kW AC fast charger, a glass roof, and ventilated front seats. MG Windsor Essence Pro The MG Windsor Essence Pro comes with dual-tone ivory-black seat upholstery, a powered tailgate, and advanced charging capabilities that include vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functions. Additionally, it is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that features adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning, and intelligent headlamp control.

MG Motor India has reported to have handed over 150 units of the recently launched Windsor EV Pro in a day in Bengaluru. The deliveries of the MG Windsor Pro began on May 16, 2025. The EV was launched recently and achieved 8,000 bookings in the span of 24 hours. It is the top-of-the-line variant in Windsor lineup and features numerous new things compared to the standard Windsor EV. The MG Windsor Pro was priced at ₹ 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) when it was launched in India, and was available for the initial 8,000 buyers. The EV is also available with the battery-as-a-service (Baas) option, which can be purchased by consumers at a price of ₹ 12.49 lakh (introductory and ex-showroom). Here, the consumer needs to pay an amount of ₹ 4.50 per kilometre. With the introductory prices over, the Windsor Pro is priced at ₹ 18.09 lakh, ex-showroom and ₹ 13.10 lakh with BaaS. The cabin has been given fresh dual-tone black and ivory interiors that give the new variant a luxury touch. The Pro variant of the MG Windsor EV gets a visual upgrade with newly designed diamond-cut alloy wheels, setting it apart from the aero-style wheels seen on the lower trims. It also introduces three fresh paint options—Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver—further enhancing its premium appeal. Step inside, and the Windsor Pro continues to impress with a feature-rich cabin. At the center is a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. A panoramic glass roof brings an airy feel to the cabin, while amenities like wireless phone charging, a nine-speaker Infinity sound system, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and six airbags round out the list of creature comforts and safety enhancements.
