Bruno Mars Beats One Of His Biggest Smashes With A Timeless Duet

Bruno Mars claims two hit songs in the United Kingdom this week, despite not having anything brand new to promote. He's not actively pushing any singles, but two of his releases that originally dropped in 2024 are proving to be among his most successful career wins – ones that the British public is far from tired of hearing. 'Die With a Smile,' his collaboration with Lady Gaga, and 'Apt.,' recorded with Blackpink singer Rosé, are not only still present on the Official Singles chart, they manage to climb, and one of them now ranks among his longest-running successes in the country to date. 'Die With a Smile' returns to the top 40 on the Official Singles chart, the ranking of the most consumed songs in the U.K. This frame marks the track's forty-first stay on the tally. As it adds one more week to its total, the duet with Gaga advances in Mars's discography. With 41 weeks spent on the Official Singles chart, 'Die With a Smile' is now the singer's third-longest-charting tune in the country. Just last frame, it was tied with 'When I Was Your Man' at 40 frames each, but now that ranking has shifted, and the piano ballad has been pushed to fourth place. 'Die With a Smile' still has a long way to go before matching Mars's two longest-charting tracks. 'Uptown Funk,' his smash with Mark Ronson, spent 76 weeks on the tally, while 'Just the Way You Are,' one of his earliest hits, racked up 66. It seems likely that 'Die With a Smile' will continue to chart for a while — perhaps several more months — but whether it will be able to match those two generation-defining singles won't be known for some time. 'Apt.' appears even higher than 'Die With a Smile' on the main songs ranking, which makes sense since it hasn't been charting for quite as long in the U.K. His Rosé collaboration has now spent 32 weeks on the Official Singles chart. With that total, the English/Korean tune is now tied as Mars's tenth-longest-running win in the U.K. It's currently matched with his own 'Billionaire,' and next week it will likely tie '24K Magic.'

Chappell Roan slams The Voice as she reveals her painful audition for the hit show: 'Scariest thing ever'

Chappell Roan has slammed The Voice while recounting the painful audition experience she had for the competition show. The 27-year-pop star rocketed to fame thanks to her 2023 album The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, which emerged last year as a sleeper hit. Along with being captivated by her songs, her fans have also praised the Missouri-born songstress for her forthright attitude - though her behavior fell under scrutiny last week when she was accused of pushing her assistant on the red carpet. She was as blunt as ever in her latest interview, in which she recalled trying out for The Voice when she was just 15 years old. Her 15th birthday landed in February 2013, the year The Voice aired its fifth season, with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green as judges. Although Chappell did not say she appeared before the celebrity panel, she shared the brutally dismissive treatment she received at the hands of 'the producer or whoever the f*** was watching ' her audition, in a cover interview with W. 'When I auditioned for The Voice, I was 15 and I sang Stay, by Rihanna,' said Chappell, referring to a 2012 song by the Umbrella hitmaker. 'That was when the Bruno Mars song When I Was Your Man was really big, and I thought I was so unique in switching it around and singing 'When you were my man' and making it about gender. But every girl was like: 'I'm switching it around.'' She added: 'By the way, when I did the Voice audition, the producer or whoever the f*** was watching did not even look up from his phone. He was like, 'Okay, next.'' Chappell remembered: 'And I went up there and sang a cappella, the scariest thing ever. He never really looked at me.' In the same interview, she shared that The Voice was not the only reality competition series that she tried out for when she was a teenager. 'With America's Got Talent, I was 13, and we flew to Austin, Texas, and waited in line with thousands of people at 4 a.m. I sang True Colors, by Cyndi Lauper. Did not make it either,' dished the Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl singer. Days ago, fans accused Chappell of pushing her assistant on a red carpet, in a clip that went viral of her at the 2025 Fashion Los Angeles Awards. The footage initially showed her waving at fans while standing next to two other people - but at one stage the Good Luck, Babe! singer appeared to softly collide with her assistant and gently push her away with her arm. Social media users scathingly denounced Chappell for her 'rude and disrespectful act' and her 'nasty evil spirit,' with one remarking: 'it was an emotional and psychological push, with her hand there to infer of a push… truly sinister.' Chappell made headlines this past September for furiously snapping back at a red carpet photographer at the MTV Video Music Awards. The exchange began when a male photographer off-camera was heard apparently shouting that someone needed to 'turn.' At some point, a photographer was heard shouting: 'Shut the f*** up,' to which Chappell turned and bellowed back: 'YOU shut the f*** up!' She added: 'No! Not me, b****!' prompting whoops from some of the observers on the scene. 'Tell him, girl,' said one woman who was watching the encounter. Chappell was previously vocal about her exasperation over 'weird' fans making her 'uncomfortable' with their intrusive behavior - prompting a backlash from social media users who felt she was being ungrateful for her stardom. 'I don't care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous, whatever,' she said on TikTok last August. 'I don't care that it's normal. I don't care that this crazy type of behavior comes along with the job, the career field I've chosen.' Chappell continued: 'That does not make it okay that doesn't make it normal. That doesn't mean that I want it, that doesn't mean that I like it....' She defiantly declared she did not 'give a f***' about being regarded as 'selfish' for saying ''no for a photo or for your time or for a hug. That's not normal, that's weird.'

Miley Cyrus Announces Visual Album "Something Beautiful": Here's When It Arrives

Yara Sameh Miley Cyrus has announced her upcoming visual album, 'Something Beautiful,' set for release on May 30. Though details surrounding the record are scarce, the singer revealed that her ninth album will feature 13 original tracks and is executive produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, who previously worked with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes. She also revealed the album cover, shot by Glen Luchford and showing Cyrus in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture. The album is available for preorder in various formats including signed vinyl and CDs, limited-edition vinyl, and two box sets featuring collectibles. Cyrus has been teasing 'Something Beautiful' over the past week, with her social media accounts changing headers to hint at the album title and posters and billboards popping up in Brazil, the Netherlands, and Argentina. The singer last released 'Endless Summer Vacation' in March 2023 led by the single 'Flowers.' That song became a massive hit for Cyrus, spending eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and breaking numerous streaming records. 'Flowers' won the Grammys last year for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while 'Endless' was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. 'Flowers' is currently at the focus of a copyright lawsuit brought by Tempo Music Investments in September 2024 that accuses Cyrus of copying Bruno Mars' 'When I Was Your Man.' Tempo owns the catalog rights of 'When I Was Your Man' co-writer Philip Lawrence, and last week, a judge denied Cyrus' request to dismiss the suit, clearing the path towards a trial. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. Miley Cyrus Denied in Attempt to Dismiss Copyright Lawsuit Over ‘Flowers'

A judge has denied Miley Cyrus' request to dismiss the copyright lawsuit claiming that her 2023 smash 'Flowers' was copying Bruno Mars' 'When I Was Your Man.' Cyrus was initially sued in Sept. 2024 by Tempo Music Investments, a company that purchased the catalog rights of 'When I Was Your Man' co-writer Philip Lawrence. Neither Mars nor Lawrence are named as plaintiffs in the case, which Cyrus filed to dismiss in November. That Should've Been My Song' But in a ruling yesterday, reviewed by Variety, the judge cleared the path towards a trial by stating that Cyrus and her legal team had a 'misunderstanding' of the legal precedent regarding copyrights. Cyrus' team was arguing that Tempo had no right to sue because it acquired Lawrence's rights to 'When I Was Your Man' without the consent of the other songwriters, therefore undercutting their right to sue. But the judge stated that this argument is 'incorrect,' noting that Tempo has an 'exclusive right' to the copyright that should not be conflated with 'exclusive ownership.' 'By transferring all of that interest, Tempo now steps into Lawrence's shoes and is a co‐owner of the exclusive rights of the copyright,' reads the ruling. 'Because Lawrence as a co‐owner could sue for infringement, Tempo as co‐owner, in lieu of Lawrence, can sue for infringement without joining the other co‐owners of the copyright.' In a statement to Variety, a lawyer for Tempo celebrated the ruling for the case to proceed. 'We are thrilled but not the least surprised by the ruling,' said attorney Alex Weingarten. 'Our client is looking forward to having this case proceed to be resolved on its merits and are extremely confident in prevailing.' Legal reps for Cyrus did not immediately respond to Variety's request for comment. Following its release in Jan. 2023, 'Flowers' was a massive hit for Cyrus, spending eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and winning record of the year at the 2024 Grammys. Fans were quick to note the similarities between 'Flowers' and 'When I Was Your Man' from the start, with social media users comparing apparent similarities in lyrics.
