Jamie Foxx Says Diddy Accusations Hurt The Black Community: 'That Was Our Hero'

Jamie Foxx isn't holding back when it comes to Sean 'Diddy' Combs and the mountain of legal trouble currently surrounding the music mogul. The Academy Award winning actor and comedian pegged him as 'nasty' as part of a recent standup bit. During an appearance at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Foxx lit into Diddy with a sharp mix of humor and disbelief, taking jabs at the disgraced rapper amid his ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering investigation. 'That Diddy sh*t crazy, huh?' Foxx opened, prompting laughter and humored reactions from the crowd. Referring to the now-infamous 2024 federal raids of Combs' properties—where agents allegedly confiscated a suspiciously large amount of baby oil—Foxx took the jokes further. 'I don't know if he's going to jail but he's a nasty motherf**ker! Am I right? Especially for our community. White people, it's cool, but for Black people, like, that was our hero! All that goddamn baby oil, boy.' Foxx didn't stop there. He reflected on the cultural impact of Diddy, noting the fall from grace hits harder for the Black community. 'For the Black people in here, you know how that hurts us. 'Cause Diddy was, 'It's all about the Benjamins.' That was our whole culture. Now, 'It's all about the baby oil.'' This isn't the first time Foxx has referenced the embattled Bad Boy CEO. In his comedy special What Had Happened Was, Foxx joked about wild internet rumors tying Diddy to his 2023 medical emergency. 'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying,' he told the audience. 'I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?' Hell no, I left them parties early.' Foxx is currently on a run promoting What Had Happened Was and recently appeared in the Netflix comedy Back In Action opposite Cameron Diaz. Hear audio of Foxx's remarks about Combs below. Jamie Foxx Gives Emotional Speech At The BET Awards & Addresses 2023 Health Scare

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty We almost lost Jamie Foxx. In 2023, the comedian experienced what was then called a medical emergency in which he was rushed to the hospital. For months rumors began circulating as to what happened to the 'Blame It' singer. Later learned that Foxx was in recovery and was doing better. Then, in his Netflix comedy special, What Had Happened Was Foxx explained that he suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke. The people over at BET had seen enough and decided that they wouldn't be waiting any longer to give Foxx his flowers, so on Monday, they honored the multi-hyphenate entertainer with the Ultimate Icon Awards during the 2025 BET Awards. 'When I saw the In Memoriam, I was like, 'Man that could've been me,'' Foxx said in a message that aired before his speech. 'But I don't know why I went through what I went through. But I know my second chance I'm not going to turn down.' Foxx, who was visibly moved throughout the night, filled with musical tributes, took a moment during his award acceptance to throw a cryptic message to the Trump administration. 'To have this moment and not say that we're being challenged [as Black people] … we're being challenged,' he told the crowd at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, HuffPost reports. Claiming that 'it wasn't about the price of eggs,' Foxx continued, 'We're being challenged, that's all… I don't want to say anything [else].' He added: 'I don't want to get into it.' Foxx was referring to a popular sentiment by President Donald Trump and his cronies who all falsely claimed that egg prices would drop under his administration. During his campaign for the White House, Trump told his constituents that if elected he'd lower the rising price of everyday items. It became the hallmark during his run for office and a talking point among many Republicans. Then Trump, using America's growing anxiety around the economy, got elected and did nothing to fix grocery item prices. In fact, since his first day in office, Trump has waged war against countries doing business in the U.S. because he and everyone in his administration don't understand how tariffs work. The cost that's being issued to countries is being passed onto consumers which means that already high priced items are going to cost even more. Which is why Foxx, took a moment during a celebration about not only his achievement but his continued zest for life to note that this was never about egg prices because as with most things in the Trump White House, whatever they tell us is probably a lie. Jamie Foxx finally sets the record straight on whether Sean ‘Diddy' Combs tried to kill him

Jamie Foxx set the record straight on the running conspiracy theory that Sean 'Diddy' Combs was behind his 2023 medical emergency. '… I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f–kng perfect shape,' Foxx recalled of his time in the hospital during a Hollywood Reporter roundtable published Thursday. '[I see things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me.' No, Puffy didn't try to kill me,' the actor stated. However, the Oscar winner seemed to be more upset about another rumor claiming he was cloned. 'When they said I was a clone, that made me flip. I'm sitting in the hospital bed, like, 'These bitch-ass motherf–kers are trying to clone me,'' he joked. The 'Django Unchained' star, 57, previously touched on the conspiracy theory about Combs following the disgraced music mogul's September 2024 arrest. Foxx poked fun at the Bad Boy Records founder — who is currently on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering — as well as his own life-threatening health scare in his Netflix stand-up special, 'What Had Happened Was,' which premiered that December. 'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying,' Foxx told the audience. 'I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?' 'Hell no, I left them parties early,' he continued, referencing Combs' infamous bashes. Foxx quipped that he was always 'out by 9' since 'something [didn't] look right' at the rapper's soirées, which allegedly led to wild sex performances dubbed 'Freak-Offs.' In his comedy special, Foxx revealed his medical emergency was due to a brain bleed that led to a stroke. The actor had originally attributed his hospitalization to a 'bad headache.' The comedian said doctors told his sister Deidra Dixon, 'If I don't go in his head right now, we're going to lose him.'' After his surgery, Dixon was told, 'We didn't find where it was coming from, but he is having a stroke. He may be able to make a full recovery but it's going to be the worst year of his life.'

Jamie Foxx Finally Responds To The Conspiracy Theory That Diddy Caused His 2023 Health Scare

Source: Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently on trial in New York City and may be found guilty of numerous crimes, but one thing he's not guilty of is an attempt on Jamie Foxx's life. In 2023, Foxx experienced a 'medical emergency' the details of which were at first concealed from the public. As time went on that summer, Foxx's hospitalization and stint in rehab without explanation led to numerous conspiracy theories among his fans. One of those theories is that Diddy had something to do with his mysterious health issue. Foxx ultimately explained what happened when he collapsed on the set of Back In Action , a Netflix movie he was filming at the time in Atlanta. In his Netflix standup comedy show, What Had Happened Was, he said that he woke up in the hospital days later. And he says that had his sister not quickly intervened and an Atlanta doctor rushed him into surgery, he would have died. In a comedian's roundtable with The Hollywood Reporter, with Seth Meyers, Hasan Minhaj, Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler and Roy Wood, he talks about the numerous drugs he was prescribed in the hospital. After sneaking into his phone for a connection to the outside world, Foxx found out the world thought he'd been cloned and that Diddy tried to kill him. 'Yeah, it was, 'This is for your pain, and this is so you don't remember it.' So, they Men in Black -ed me, and I'm f-cked up, and this isn't funny, but I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying, and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f-cking perfect shape. [I see things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me.' No, Puffy didn't try to kill me.' Diddy and his parties were once so significant in entertainment circles that many celebs have been photographed with him and/or attended one of his bashes, including his famous white parties. However, Foxx, who is known for his own lavish events, said that he always left Diddy's parties early. He joked about it in his Netflix special. 'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying,' Foxx said at the show, which was taped in Atlanta in 2024. 'I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?' Hell no, I left them parties early.' Fox has fully recovered from what he described as a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Swift action by an Atlanta doctor he thanks in the special saved his life, as did his sister's instinct that led her to take him to the right place. After his role as a producer for the Apple TV+ series, Number One On The Call Sheet, a two-part documentary marking the ascension of Black actors and actresses released in March, Foxx is starring in Tin Soldier with Robert DeNiro and Scott Eastwood and All-Star Weekend with Gerard Butler and Robert Downey Jr. Both are expected to be released this year. See how social media reacted to Foxx opening up about his medical scare on his Netflix special below.
