Florence Pugh reveals her grandparents have seen ALL of her racy sex scenes as she insists they're unfazed by her raunchy moments
Florence Pugh has revealed that even her grandparents watch the sex scenes in her films and said they are simply another part of her career. The actress, 29, who made her debut in 2014's The Falling, said she has gotten over any potential awkwardness this might cause as she has had sex many times on screen. She recalled taking her grandparents to see the horror film Midsommar in the cinema in 2019, with her grandfather later saying that he would have never watched the film if she hadn't been in it. Florence told NBC's Seth Meyers last month: 'I've also done many a sex scene in my career, and also unfortunately, that's part of the course of what my family watch. 'I remember going like, "Oh my God, I forgot about that", when there was a naked body splayed over breathing organisms, and I was like, "How am I supposed to explain this to my grandparents?"' Midsommar centres around an American couple who join a cult after initially believing that they were attending a mid-summer festival in Sweden. Recalling the initial awkwardness, Florence said she couldn't help but think about how bizarre it was to have those who have raised her watch her sex scenes. She joked: 'You watch it with all the people that you've taken and you're like [mouthing], "Oh, f***".' However, the actress said it is not just her grandparents who enthusiastically support her films. She added: 'My whole family are such brilliant supporters. They will be there come rain or shine.' The star said that even when she is unable to personally attend an important event like a premiere, her relations will go on her behalf. Other notable sex scenes from Florence's now glittering career include the one that took place in 2023's Oppenheimer. In the shoes of communist Jean Tatlock she gets down and dirty with Cillian Murphy's nuclear scientist character, beginning the intimacy by posing topless in a lounging hotel room chair. The actress has portrayed several different sexual scenarios in her career so far and said she particularly enjoyed simply being part of a love story. Florence has portrayed several different sexual scenarios in her career so far and said she particularly enjoyed simply being part of a love story in 2024's We Live In Time This was the case in the 2024 romantic comedy We Live In Time, where she starred alongside Andrew Garfield. She told ELLE: 'I have always wanted to do a love story. You actually get to understand the relationship, and what point they're at in the relationship, through the style of sex they have.' Florence said the story depicted in the film was beautiful to watch back and at times it felt like she was really having a baby with her co-star. The film itself, as its title suggests, centres around a 10-year love story that sees characters Almut and Tobias navigate a series of challenges, including breast cancer.

Florence Pugh takes her grandparents to watch her films, including those with racy scenes
'I'm like, 'Not surprised'. But he was like, 'You were brilliant, absolutely brilliant, darling'.' In Midsommar, Pugh plays Dani, who finds herself trapped by a Swedish cult while travelling with a group after enduring a huge tragedy in her life. She continued: 'I've also done many a sex scene in my career, and also unfortunately, that's part of the course of what my family watch. 'The bit that was just so I remember going like, 'Oh my God, I forgot about that', is when there's a naked body that's splayed over breathing organisms, and I was like, how am I supposed to explain this to my grandparents?' The actress said after 'working so hard' on a film, her family always wanted to see her performance and joked: 'You watch it with all the people that you've taken and you're like [mouthing], 'Oh, f***'.' Pugh added: 'My whole family are such brilliant supporters. They will be there come rain or shine. 'Even when I'm not in the city to attend the premiere [of one of my films], they will be there and they will show up in, like, full Pugh force. 'They are just like massive supporters, no matter what I do.' Pugh has performed sex scenes in several films, including Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Oppenheimer. During a pivotal moment, Pugh's Communist Jean Tatlock gets extremely intimate with the nuclear scientist, portrayed by Cillian Murphy. Pugh also lounges topless in a hotel room chair, although in the version for audiences in the Middle East and India, a computer-generated black dress covering her body down to the thigh is put in place. Pugh also had to film one 'sweaty and exhausting' scene eight times in We Live In Time with co-star Andrew Garfield. The 29-year-old played Almut in the 2024 romantic-comedy, which follows the life of a couple over the course of a decade. Pugh had to repeat a birthing scene several times but admitted it was 'exciting' to portray a couple's sex life, adding: 'I have always wanted to do a love story. You actually get to understand the relationship, and what point they're at in the relationship, through the style of sex they have.' Speaking earlier this year, she continued: 'It was insane, and it was amazing. The only problem was, I didn't have a baby that came out. So I was just so exhausted and sweaty and tired and I'd got no endorphins or anything. We worked with a midwife. 'Tiring, amazing, exhausting, so beautiful to watch, because it is just all about life. And it was like Andrew and I were preparing for a baby, and it was really, really beautiful. It was so emotional, it was like we had a child.' In Thunderbolts, Marvel's latest cinema release, Pugh returns as Scarlett Johansson's one-time Black Widow comrade Yelena Belova. She told Variety her grandmother 'loved the movie'.

Is there a Marvel group chat? Thunderbolts star Florence Pugh spills the beans!
If there's anyone who's been on a roll and is being absolutely matter-of-factly about it, it's definitely Florence Pugh. Last year was big, with the actor featuring in the big banner Timothee Chalamet-led Dune: Part Two, as Princess Irulan. This was followed by the emotionally poignant We Live In Time, in which she featured opposite Andrew Garfield. Her only release for this year, Thunderbolts too, is gaining her immense praise. Now while Florence enjoys quite an airtight filmography, nothing parallels the hype and expectations surrounding Avengers: Doomsday, set for a 2026 release. Being an integral part of the Marvel fam, the actor, during a rapid fire session with Who What Wear, as part of their cover story, answered the one pressing question every Marvel fan has had at some point — is there a Marvel group chat?! Florence immeditely blurted out, "If there is one, I'm pissed cause I'm not on it. But if there is one, I hope there's loads of jokes and memes and good gifts and just good chat". When asked about whose return to MCU she was most excited about, she didn't skip a beat before saying, "All of my friends! All of them, I was so glad that they were coming back, just as I was to see my name". A post shared by Who What Wear (@whowhatwear) As far as Florence's MCU history goes, she debuted in the superhero universe as Yelena Belova in Black Widow (2021), portraying the adopted sister of Natasha Romanoff, essayed by Scarlett Johansson. Her character, a fellow assassin trained in the Red Room, quickly gained popularity for her sharp wit, emotional depth, and combat skills. Pugh reprised the role in series Hawkeye which released the same year, where Yelena sought revenge on Clint Barton, believing he was responsible for Natasha's death. This year she reprised her role in Thunderbolts, as part of a team of anti-heroes, with the film having accrued rave reviews for its refreshing presentation. Next in her lineup is the momentous Avengers: Doomsday, currently being mounted.
