Marvel's 'Ironheart': Release Date and How to Watch

When Black Panther: Wakanda Forever came out in fall 2022, the Ryan Coogler-directed film introduced Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a teenage MIT student whose brilliance created a vibranium detector. Now, the character is debuting in her own streaming TV show: Ironheart. Pulled from Marvel's comic books, the young inventor possesses genius-level intelligence and found Tony Stark an inspiration. Riri's gift for robotics led her to make an armored suit that's been compared to Iron Man's, and they both were driven to serve mankind. The show sees her return to Chicago after the events of Wakanda Forever (where she helped battle Namor alongside Shuri), and viewers will see her tech take on magic when The Hood (played by Anthony Ramos) arrives on the scene in the upcoming new series. In addition to Thorne and Ramos, the cast also features Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Anji White, Regan Aliyah, and Manny Montana. Coogler and Kevin Feige are among the series' executive producers. Marvel Reveals First Episode Details From EYES OF WAKANDA Series Which Is Set Thousands of Years Ago — GeekTyrant

Marvel Animation debuted the first episode of its upcoming series Eyes of Wakanda at this week's Annecy Animation Festival. Director Todd Harris introduced the episode, titled 'Into the Lion's Den,' before a Q&A session on the morning of June 9. Harris, previously a story artist for Marvel on Black Panther and its sequel Wakanda Forever , said the show followed an 'anthology adjacent' format. The episode, the first of four in the series, is set in 1260 B.C., and turns on a Wakandan secret agent, a disgraced former Dora Milaje named Noni (played by Winnie Harlow), as she pursues a man by the moniker of 'Lion' (Cress Williams). Lion has defected from the Wakandan guard in order to run a band of pirates, and has stolen technology from Wakanda in order to found his own kingdom. Noni finds him in Crete, where Lion's crew of pirates, assembled from fighters from around the world, are currently pillaging and enslaving a town. Each of the 30-minute episodes will take place across different time periods, following different artefacts taken. But there is some continuity, as the impact of the Lion's actions will apparently be felt across all of that time. Harris also teased some form of familiar Marvel characters making appearances: 'There will be an Iron Fist in here, and not the Iron Fist you expect.' There are other familiar touches, such as recollections of Ryan Coogler's original 'Black Panther' in the dialogue and the visual design, but Harris notes that 'it was never my goal to make 'another one,' my goal was to make something new.' Harris describes the fictional country, first depicted in Marvel Comics, as if ' Star Trek got dropped in the middle of Africa, but was excited to explore the principles that keep such a nation preserved for as long as it has. Eyes of Wakanda intends to explore how the culture and tactics of Wakandans evolve as it introduces new characters in new time periods, but also the 'stillness' which lies at its heart, as Wakanda seeks to remain isolated and resist 'over-expansion.' 'Stillness is a difficult thing, and Wakanda by definition has remained the same,' the director says. 'Staying still against the current takes energy – so what are they willing to do to remain that way, to not over-expand?' Eyes of Wakanda is set to premiere on August 6, 2025 on Disney+. IRONHEART Actress Dominique Thorne Says in Light of Robert Downey Jr.'s Approval of Her Character, Fans Should "Get on the Bandwagon" — GeekTyrant

Ironheart actress Dominique Thorne made her Marvel debut as Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), and the character filled a bit of a void left by Tony Stark when he was ultimately sacrificed in Avengers: Endgame (2019). The parallels are obvious, with the pair each being tech geniuses who have the capability to create highly advanced robotics to help serve the good guys in the fight against evil. While Thorne's return to the MCU has been drawn out, we will see her return to play the lead in the Ironheart series, out later this month, and she teased a possible appearance in the upcoming Avengers films. In a recent interview with The Direct, Thorne was asked if we could expect to see her in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars . She responded, coyly, "Oh, you know, what can I say? The odds might be in our favor. Who knows? We'll see. We'll see." For fans who have not yet embraced her character, Thorne threw around the fact that Tony Stark actor Robert Downey Jr. himself has endorsed her, saying: "I would say get on the bandwagon. It's here. We're here... I mean, Tony's on the bandwagon, so you know, what's the problem? RDJ is here. It's nice here. It's cute here. It's comfy here. It smells good here." She also teased Riri's abilities in the upcoming series, stating, "I think we've got little tastes and teases of that previously. Throughout, you know, the phases that have led us here. But this, absolutely, to me, feels like new territory in terms of how tech and magic can merge, how they can work together, how they might clash. 'It's fun, it's exciting, it's dangerous, it's risky. It's all the things that you might expect. So, yeah, just another reason to lean in and see where this takes us in the broader context of the MCU." Ironheart will kick off with its first three episodes streaming on Disney+ on June 24, 2025, with three more episodes dropping weekly.

Marvel's EYES OF WAKANDA Animated Will Feature Iron Fist, But Not The Netflix Version — GeekTyrant

Marvel Studios is bringing back the Iron Fist character, but before you start thinking this could be a 'Finn Jones Redemption Arc', the Iron Fist showing up in the Eyes of Wakanda anmated series isn't that version of the character. During a panel at the Annecy Animation Festival, director Todd Harris dropped the news while talking about his upcoming animated series. When asked about guest appearances, Harris casually revealed: 'There will be an Iron Fist in here, and not the Iron Fist you expect.' So what does that mean? Are we getting an alternate timeline version? A legacy Iron Fist? A new character entirely who picks up the mantle? It's all speculation for now, but Harris made it clear that Eyes of Wakanda isn't about rehashing what we've already seen: 'It was never my goal to make 'another one,' my goal was to make something new.' The series is set to premiere August 6, 2025 on Disney+, and it's shaping up to be something fresh. The show will consist of four 30-minute episodes, each a standalone story set in different time periods. In the series, Wakandan agents venture out into the wider world to retrieve powerful artifacts stolen from their homeland. Harris described the series as 'mostly a spy story,' one that explores how Wakandan operatives interact with the world while trying to reconcile what they experience with their 'nationalist agenda.' According to Variety, the first episode screened at Annecy was well-received, with early reactions pointing to a strong sense of cultural authenticity, something that's often promised, rarely delivered, and hugely appreciated when it lands right. As for Iron Fist's broader MCU future, fans are still holding out hope. With Daredevil: Born Again now confirmed to bring back Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones in Season 2, it's only natural to wonder if Finn Jones might get another shot too. The actor has made it clear he's more than ready for a comeback. He previously said: 'I'm very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is, 'Give me a f*cking chance, man. I'm here and I'm ready, and I wanna prove people wrong.'' Personally, I think he had his chance and it just didn't work. The question is, will Eyes of Wakanda pave the way for a new Iron Fist in the MCU's multiversal toybox? Or will it be a one-time cameo with a fresh take? Either way, it sounds like Marvel fans should prepare for surprises.

Baron Zemo Reportedly Returning in MARVEL ZOMBIES Animated Series — GeekTyrant

It looks like the undead aren't the only ones crawling back for Marvel Zombies . According to a new scoop from @MyTimeToShineH, Captain America: Civil War villain Baron Zemo is reportedly set to return in the upcoming animated Marvel Zombies series. Whether or not Daniel Brühl is reprising the role hasn't been confirmed yet, but it's hard to picture Zemo without him. Marvel Zombies will expand on the fan-favorite episode from What If...? Season 1, where we saw our heroes battling a horrifying, zombified version of the MCU. That story ended with Spider-Man, T'Challa, and Ant-Man's floating head flying to Wakanda… unaware that a zombified Thanos was standing by with a fully loaded Infinity Gauntlet. The new series is set to pick up on that cliffhanger and push the carnage forward, this time centering on a mostly Phase 4 roster of characters. As for Zemo? The last we saw of him, he was last scene in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier . In the comics, Zemo famously led the Thunderbolts, a team of villains pretending to be heroes who, over time, actually became heroes. The live-action Thunderbolts* movie skipped that plot entirely, and Zemo was nowhere to be seen. (Though it's been said he was briefly considered.) So what's a scheming genius doing in a zombie apocalypse? We don't know yet. There's no confirmation if he'll be undead himself or one of the last brilliant minds still trying to stay alive. But if Marvel knows what it's doing, Zemo's inclusion won't be just for a gruesome cameo. Back in February, Marvel Studios' Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation Brad Winderbaum revealed: 'Hudson [Thames] has been our animated voice for Spider-Man in the MCU so far. In What If...?, in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and he also plays Spider-Man in Marvel Zombies, which comes out Halloween time this year.' Hudson Thames will be joined by a pretty stacked voice cast: Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Awkwafina as Katy, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Hailee Steinfeld as Hawkeye, Dominique Thorne as Ironheart, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Todd Williams in a mysterious role. The four-episode animated series is directed by Bryan Andrews and written by Zeb Wells, with executive producers Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Wells, and Andrews. The official synopsis is keeping it vague for now, simply stating: 'From Marvel Animation, 'Marvel Zombies' comes in time for Halloween in October 2025.' Marvel Zombies premieres October 3, 2025.
